As a Tennessean, I am ashamed that President Andrew Jackson is from my state. He was a slave-owner/racist who cruelly dispossessed the peaceful native Cherokee Indians when gold was discovered in North Georgia, killing hundreds as they were forced by the military to march to Oklahoma on the Trail of Tears. Jackson was just removed from the twenty-dollar bill because he is such a controversial figure.

But President Trump seems to glorify Jackson and see him as a soul-mate, which makes sense - a racist who in modern times is mainly associated with money. Trump would love to see his own face on currency, maybe with the much derided native Pocahontas on the other side? *Shudder*

Trump compared his 2016 presidential campaign to that of President Andrew Jackson, whose home and grave he visited earlier this year. "I mean, had Andrew Jackson been a little later you wouldn't have had the Civil War....he had a big heart. He was really angry that he saw what was happening with regard to the Civil War, he said 'There's no reason for this.'"

Bachman Hates Border Children, but ALSO Fears "Lawless" Obama Will Experiment On Them

Cuckoo Human Looney-Toon Michele Bachmann R-Minnesota, she of the "crazy eyes," believes that President Obama should be Impeached. She also thinks he is "lawless" like a runaway slave and needs punishment -- so put him in handcuffs! Yes, handcuffs! Why? Because he dared to give children of illegal immigrants, known as "Dreamers," the right not to be deported. What a horrible crime! Impeach!

This all happened as the GOP-led House of Representatives took their last stand before summer vacation by passing a bill the Senate will never pass, and the President will never sign.

But Michele never lets a lost cause stop her. And this gave her a chance for a dog whistle to the Tea Party as well.

The Minnesota Republican made the figurative remark while speaking on the floor during debate on legislation ending the president’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program granting deportation relief and work permits to some children brought to the United States illegally by their parents. The legislation also would prohibit President Barack Obama from expanding the program to other illegal immigrants as the president reportedly is considering whether to expand the program to as many as 5 million people.

Bachmann said House passage of the bill would “put a handcuff on one of the president’s hands” and said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., should bring the Senate back and pass the bill.
“He needs to put the other handcuff on this lawless president’s hands,” she said as she grabbed one of her wrists.

David Cicilline, D-Rhode Island, objected to the language and tried to have the remarks stricken from the record, but was told the request was not "timely."

“Mr. CICILLINE. Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to strike from the Congressional Record the words of the gentlewoman from Minnesota who described placing a handcuff on one hand of the President’s—-

Mr. ROYCE. Mr. Speaker, I object as the request is not timely.

Mr. CICILLINE. Mr. Speaker, a point of order.

Excuse me. May I finish my unanimous consent request? Thank you.
She in one moment described putting one handcuff on one hand of the President’s and a second handcuff on the second hand of the President’s and handcuffing the lawless President of the United States.
Those are words which are not appropriate in the Congressional Record. I ask unanimous consent that they be stricken. Impugning the character and integrity of the President of the United States is a clear violation of the rules of this House.
The SPEAKER pro tempore. Is there objection to the request of the gentleman from Rhode Island?
Mr. ROYCE. Mr. Speaker, I do object. The request is not timely.

Bachmann has also accused the "lawless" President of being some sort of wicked Dr. Frankenstein, wanting to perform some strange medical experiments on immigrant children who are coming across the border with Mexico. Yeah, right - it's Obama who hates those children and wants them to suffer, not the Right-Wingers screaming at them, or the Militia folks shooting at them.

Bachmann can't seem to make up her mind whether she hates these children or wants to protect them.

This entire narrative is based on a bizarre misreading of the hospital's policy for allowing Wards of the state to participate in medical research trials, which is actually designed to protect such wards. The fact that Wards of the state can participate in medical trials under certain conditions and within specific guidelines is being intentionally misrepresented by Bachmann and others on the Right to claim that foster children are being used for wild medical experiments funded by grants from the federal government without oversight or limits.
. . . "Now President Obama is trying to bring all of those foreign nationals, those illegal aliens to the country and he has said that he will put them in the foster care system," Bachmann said. "That's more kids that you can see how - we can't imagine doing this.
But if you have a hospital and they are going to get millions of dollars in government grants if they can conduct medical research on somebody, and a Ward of the state can't say 'no,' a little kid can't say 'no' if they're a Ward of the state; so here you could have this institution getting millions of dollars from our government to do medical experimentation and a kid can't even say 'no.' It's sick".

Mississippi GOP and the Cotton-Pickin' Conference Call

The Mississippi Republican Senate Race is getting weirder by the day. Chris McDaniel lost on the vote count of the run-off, but he won't concede to Thad Cochran. There was a conference call the other day which included members of both campaigns along with national and local reporters, but McDaniel supporters turned it into a circus by equating black votes with bales of cotton. No, really, that happened. And McDaniel keeps saying the black votes are somehow not legal even though it was an open primary, meaning anyone from either party could vote. But the actual laws don't seem to matter much to the Mississippi Tea Party!

The Conference Call:

A conference call set up by the campaign for U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran devolved into a shouting match and then ended, after which time supporters of GOP primary challenger Chris McDaniel chatted for a bit.
California-based blogger Charles C. Johnson posted the call-in number on Twitter and encouraged people to call in and crash the call. He succeeded.
. . . an unidentified male started asking about harvesting cotton and black votes.
. . . (Austin) Barbour (Cochran advisor) tried to continue on, but he was repeatedly cut off by the man. Eventually Barbour and Cochran spokesman Jordan Russell told media that they could be reached by email or cell phone and then hung up.
. . . As word of the debacle spread on Twitter, it quickly became journalists dialing in to see what the commotion was about, only to sit and laugh about the fact that it was over.

The conference call line did not give the Cochran campaign the ability to mute callers’ lines, so there was no way to force the caller to stop speaking.
“I’m happy to address any question, no matter the lunacy of it,” he said.
But the man on the line, who did not identify himself, could not be placated. Finally, Barbour apologized and announced he was ending the call, telling national press that they had the contact information for the campaign if they had any questions.
. . . Thirty minutes after the call ended, the call line was still open. Someone was using a soundboard of President Barack Obama’s voice saying “Hey! What’s up?” Someone else was playing the audio from the movie “Animal House.”













Chris McDaniel was given time on CNN to denounce the conference call, and instead got all huffy about Cochran's ability to get out the black vote in Mississippi. The problem is, every time he defends his challenge to the vote count he sounds like a racist who thinks black votes aren't valid. There are theories about why McDaniel thinks this is a good idea - he lives in a conservative bubble, all his friends are racist, or he just has a tin ear for politics. Perhaps all of the above?

The point is, McDaniel never seems to understand that Cochran's appeal to black voters worked so well because the Tea Party is inherently racist, and they are all about cutting funding for minority programs. That is the platform on which McDaniel was running, but now he denies that he ever intended to cut anything - a complete lie!

BOLDUAN: Do you regret that this has gotten so ugly for any part that you've played in this whole race that it's gotten so ugly?

MCDANIEL: Let me tell you what I regret. Here's what I regret. The last two and a half weeks of that campaign, they went out to Democratic communities, predominantly African-American in our state. They called me a racist. They race-baited.

They said if I was elected, I would suppress their right to vote or do away with it. They said if I was elected that welfare would be cut off. They said if I was elected that funding to historically black colleges and universities would be cut off.

I regret any campaign of divisiveness that deals with race in the manner they dealt with it. That was unfair. It's improper, and in so doing, they ran a scare tactic campaign that pushed 42,000 at least Democrats into the Republican primary.

Do I think that's a problem? Absolutely. Because I don't think divisiveness and that type of race-baiting belongs in the Republican Party.

BOLDUAN: You definitely don't like how they run their campaign. That is absolutely clear, Mr. McDaniel.

But for the part that you've played, this is two people running in this race, any regrets you have in how ugly this has gotten?

MCDANIEL: Which examples do you have where we've been ugly?

BOLDUAN: I'm just saying there are two people running in this race. Do you think you've run a completely fair campaign?

MCDANIEL: Help me understand which examples do you have that show I haven't run a clean campaign?

BOLDUAN: I'm asking if there are any regrets now that you're part in one of the ugliest primaries we've seen in a long time.

MCDANIEL: I can't control the Cochran's race baiter, name calling. If you can find an example where we did something like that you let me know and we'll talk about it.

MSNBC Chooses Tea Over Truth in Sacking Martin Bashir

MSNBC Host Martin Bashir was shown the door, fired, sacked, "allowed to resign" after a week of unfortunate events brought about by Tea Party Diva Sarah Palin's obsession with Slavery as a metaphor. When she decided to compare the National Debt to slavery, Bashir read a brutal passage from a history book and suggested that if Sarah Palin could dish out the BS, then maybe she should take a dose of it, too. Unfortunately, Bashir sealed his fate with that episode, because thanks to push-back from the poutraged Tea Party and Fox Noise, not to mention inner pressure from MSNBC zealot Joe Scarborough and whining from recently-fired Alec Baldwin, MSNBC head honcho Phil Griffin caved and fired Bashir in spite of a heartfelt apology.

But we have to recall that Palin has been bashing President Obama with one slur after another ever since her 2008 Vice Presidential campaign. She has encouraged Birtherism, flatly stated several times that Obama is "palling around with terrorists, and recently wrote on Facebook about Obama's "Shuck and Jive" over Benghazi. Oh and then there was her brilliant display of patriotism during the government shutdown when she posed with Ted Cruz near some Tea Partiers with Confederate Flags. But hey, babe, it's all good - she can still be on the Today Show - wouldn't want to offend her or anything, even if she hates the President because he's a colored fella.

But wait, this is MSNBC - the "Librul" Network, right?

Forget that another pundit, Mark Halperin, called President Obama a "d*ck" on the Morning Joe show, yet he has been allowed to stay, even after an interview in which he seemed to imply that Obama is setting up Death Panels.

It's all up to MSNBC. If they want to keep firing or shuffling their best pundits or lose progressive viewers by courting the Right Wing Tea Party Nut Jobs, hey, go for it. We don't have to watch. *click* Now Please, Proceed.

Bashir chose to tell his audience of the diary of a plantation overseer in Jamaica named Thomas Thistlewood.
In 1756, he records that a slave named Darby ‘catched eating kanes had him well flogged and pickled, then made Hector, another slave, sh** in his mouth.’
“This became known as ‘Darby’s Dose,’ a punishment invented by Thistlewood that spoke only of inhumanity. And he mentions a similar incident in 1756, his time in relation to a man he refers to as Punch. ‘Flogged punch well, and then washed and rubbed salt pickle, lime juice and bird pepper, made Negro Joe piss in his eyes and mouth.’”
When Mrs. Palin invokes slavery, she doesn’t just prove her rank ignorance. She confirms if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, she would be the outstanding candidate.”

The former Alaska governor and Fox News contributor was scheduled to sit down with Matt Lauer for a Christmas season interview. That's now toast.
Palin has now canceled Lauer's scheduled trip to Wasilla, a source close to her tells me. It's not because Palin is upset with Lauer or the "Today" show, but as a protest against NBC for not taking action against Bashir. In fact, Palin once sat in as a "Today"co-host.
Tim Crawford, treasurer of Palin's political action committee, had told NBC News President Deborah Turness and MSNBC President Phil Griffin that "Americans deserve to know that your network doesn't condone violent and hateful rhetoric."

Martin Bashir Apologizes:
I wanted to take this opportunity to say sorry to Mrs. Palin and to also offer an unreserved apology to her friends and family, her supporters, our viewers, and anyone who may have heard what I said.
My words were wholly unacceptable. They were neither accurate, nor fair. They were unworthy of anyone who would claim to have an interest in politics. And they have brought shame upon my friends and colleagues at this network, none of whom were responsible for the things that I said, and and at a place where we try every day to elevate political discourse and to focus on issues that matter to all of us.

Martin Bashir Resignation Statement Via Mediaite
After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday.
Upon further reflection, and after meeting with the President of MSNBC, I have tendered my resignation. It is my sincere hope that all of my colleagues, at this special network, will be allowed to focus on the issues that matter without the distraction of myself or my ill-judged comments.
I deeply regret what was said, will endeavor to work hard at making constructive contributions in the future and will always have a deep appreciation for our viewers – who are the smartest, most compassionate and discerning of all television audiences. Egged on by the hosts at Fox News to comment on why MSNBC didn’t fire Bashir instead of allowing him to resign, Palin stated that she was indeed happy that the same “lame stream media” she attack every chance she gets, came to her rescue.
Well it was refreshing to see though that many in the media did come out and say ‘look our standards have got to be higher than this.’ Those with that platform with a microphone a camera in their face they’ve got to have more responsibility taken.
The entire interview felt like a victory lap for those sitting on the Fox News set, as Palin took the bigger person role in a battle she quite frankly started.

Michele Bachmann ~ Spank Obama

WND asked Bachmann if she is similarly concerned the president will do what he wants no matter what Congress does on immigration.

“Well, of course he’s going to, unless we pinch his ears back,” she observed.

She noted his penchant to rule by executive order is working for him but not the American people.

“He has a perpetual magic wand and nobody’s given him a spanking yet and taken it out of his hand,” she added maternally.

Bachmann says Congress has the power to discipline a misbehaving president, “And the way we spank the president is we do it through the checkbook.”

Paula Deen Fired from Food Network Over Racist Remarks

On Friday June 21, 2013 Paula Deen was supposed to appear on the NBC's Today Show with Matt Lauer but she bugged out:



Later that day she released two separate apology videos. The first was made private after a few minutes probably because people on Twitter mocked the sharp edits and Paula's crazy look - too much make-up and frowsy hair. The second with a more composed Paula Deen was released a few hours later.

Not long after that, the Food Network announced they were firing the Chef:

The Food Network has stuck a fork in Paula Deen.

The cable channel dropped the controversial celebrity chef from its programming lineup Friday in the wake of a deposition that recently surfaced in which she is quoted expressing racist sentiments and using the “N” word.
Food Network issued a statement this afternoon: “Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when it expires at the end of this month.”

Deen has been a star attraction on the cable channel, which is owned by Scripps Networks Interactive, since 1999. She has starred in multiple cooking shows for the network, most recently “Paula’s Best Dishes,” since 2008.
Her primetime perch at Food Network enabled Deen to build a multimedia empire around herself that extended to restaurants, cookbooks and other merchandise.

In a statement to CNN released on Friday night, the chef thanked the network for 11 "great years."
"I have had the pleasure of being allowed into so many homes across the country and meeting people who have shared with me the most touching and personal stories," she said. "This would not have been possible without the Food Network. Thank you again. Love and best dishes to all of ya'll."
The apology may be a little too late for the network, which announced Deen's firing early Friday afternoon. On the morning of Saturday, June 22, Deen's scheduled one-hour block of programming was yanked from the channel, with Giada Laurentiis' Giada at Home and Ree Drummond's Pioneer Woman being shown instead.

Here we go with the "we are all racists" theme again. I get so tired of being labeled over and over by ignorant people such as yourself. I wasn't raised with the N-word, and don't use it. I admire Paula for offering her apology, and feel that she was very sincere. As a Christian, (not a racist), I have been taught to forgive, and it is for that reason alone, that I have done so with regards to Paula. So stop with the racist bullshit, which, incidently, has been so ratcheted out of control since obama took office, like everything and anything mentioned, even BBQ has been considered racist. Sick of the whole narrative, and if everyone just went back to God, these ridiculous accusations would stop, and they certainly need to.

I am shocked at your decision to let Paula go. Where are her first amendment rights, or are you an Obama follower that believes the Constitution no longer applies to the US. I do not know of one person , black, white, red, etc. that has not used a racial slur at some point in their life. The times may have changed and everyone feels they have to tiptoe around, and heaven forbid not offend anyone but Christian's, but you have gone too far. Everyone I know is backing Paula, and the fact that I may not agree with what she has said or done, I defend her right to the death to say whatever she chooses. I'm CHOPPING FOOD NETWORK FOR MY CHANNEL LISTING...Paula Deen made a few mistakes a long time ago...she is being scapegoated in the effort for Food Network to look PC...All this came out due to her being sued when she TOLD THE TRUTH IN A DEPOSITION...The Attorney General of the United States gets up before congress and lies thru his teeth, the Presidents national Security Advisor James Clapper gets up before Congress and lies thru his teeth...the President of the United States and the Secretary of State go before the citizens of this country and LIE THRU THEIR TEETH about Benghazi and the deaths of 4 patriots and they all get a pass...Paula Deen tells the truth about something she said long ago in a different time in out nations history and SHE is lynched, vilified and called a racist...I will give Food Network until Monday at the close of business to issue a retraction or Food Network will NEVER be turned on in my house EVER AGAIN...I have been watching since day one...

If I were Ms. Paula Deen, I'd have my attorneys file a wrongful termination lawsuit. Until the holier-than-thou Food Network investigates every one of their employees all the way back to the womb and checks to see if Anyone said Anything at Any time about Anyone, Anyplace in their lives and uncovers evidence of such, then Paula Deen was discriminated against. And just a thought for Guy, Giada, Alton and all the rest . . . you'd better be on your toes and have confidentiality agreements with everyone you know or who knows when something unfortunate will be revealed about any of you. Food Network should be mortified at themselves for reacting too quickly in order to be politically correct, and these days it seems as though that's what's at the root of so many of this country's issues.

Really! Foodnetwork you don't mind making millions while Paula Deen is one of the best shows on your network but let her be a honest and admit something and you throw her under the bus. Shame on you! You should applaud her for being honest and admitting this. And by the way you must all be yankees because here in the south that's the way things used to be and you can't change the past and we have moved on. I think Paula has a good heart and never intended any harm to any of her racial slurs...by golly there's more then her that has used slurs in times past and she never did it on tv!! Being from the south I do understand the idea behind the Plantation wedding idea, if anything I thought it would bring honor to those that worked as slaves back then because of their positive roles in our history of America, and they chose to look at the negative aspect of what she was trying to create in the idea..what a pity that people can be so cruel to a great cook that worked for them and did nothing but good on that show..she just taught what home cooking was about and if you didn't like it then change the channel and don't criticize her for it...that was her specialty and they knew it when they hired her in the first place!! We will fight for you Paula!! From one southern girl to another you go girl !!

Food Network is proving that: "no matter what you have said in the past, freedom of speech is 1. not tolerated with our network and 2. you have no right to be forgiven.. If we as American citizen, banned and punished every single human being for something they may have said "tongue and cheek" in the past, we would be a lonely country...I FULLY BELIEVE what Mrs. Paula said in years past was wrong, however, I also know when someone in our current times is bold enough to say, "yes, I have said things in the past in regret" and ask's for forgiveness, it should be forgiven as long as they are sincere which I believe she is. If Paula was a racist, I doubt she would say little cute remarks about a hot black male in the audience or a guest as well, kiss an African / American on the cheeck during shows.. Comics use racist jokes everyday in their standup performances, what do we do? WE FREAKING LAUGH at the jokes . GET REAL Food Network, honestly, I do believe you have truly cast a shadow on yourselves with regards of your position in the belief, "people do not deserve or, are not worthy of forgiveness".

Chef Paula Deen's Racism Leads to #PaulasBestDishes Meme ~ Updated 2

Celebrity chef Paula Deen has admitted to using the N-word and telling insensitive racial jokes during a May 17 deposition that was videotaped — and also confessed to her brother’s cocaine, pornography and alcohol addictions!

Paula, 66, admitted to using the N-word and wanting black waiters to play the role of slaves at a wedding party she was putting together, a new bombshell report from the National Enquirer claims.

. . . When asked by Lisa’s Atlanta-based attorney if she’d ever used the N-word, Paula responded, “Yes, of course,” and gave examples of times she used the offensive term.

In terms of telling racist jokes, Paula said, “It’s just what they are — they’re jokes…most jokes are about Jewish people, rednecks, black folks…I can’t determine what offends another person.”

And when asked if she wanted black men to play the role of slaves at a wedding she explained she got the idea from a restaurant her husband and her had dined at saying, “The whole entire waiter staff was middle-aged black men, and they had on beautiful white jackets with a black bow tie.

“I mean, it was really impressive. That restaurant represented a certain era in America…after the Civil War, during the Civil War, before the Civil War…It was not only black men, it was black women…I would say they were slaves.”

“Well what I would really like is a bunch of little niggers to wear long-sleeve white shirts, black shorts and black bow ties, you know in the Shirley Temple days, they used to tap dance around,” the lawsuit claims Deen asaid. “Now that would be a true southern wedding, wouldn’t it? But we can’t do that because the media would be on me about that.”

. . . Though she denied having used the N word when discussing the wedding waitstaff, Deen admitted to Billips that she used the term in the past.

“Yes, of course,” Deen replied when asked if she ever said the word.

Deen said she employed the term when telling her husband about an incident “when a black man burst into the bank that I was working at and put a gun to my head.”

“I didn’t feel real favorable towards him,” Deen said of the alleged bank robber.
