It was bound to happen eventually - one of the Neocon Tea Party nuts would not only blame Obama for the unrest in Ukraine (like their new hero, Putin) but they would sound the delusional battle cry of Benghazi!!!!!!!!! And it figures it is Lindsey Graham, trying desperately to sound as crazy-ass as possible to rally his constituents in South Carolina.

Yeah, because Obama "killed Americans" in Benghazi. Even the Right Wing bloggers think that's crazy! For once we all agree on something!

Obama uses kids as human shields. The Democrats use kids as human shields. He brings these kids who supposedly wrote letters to the White House after Newtown, brings them up there to present a picture of support among the children for the president to do something about guns. It's gonna be very difficult, very difficult to oppose it. You got these little kids there. They don't want to die. (mocks a child crying) How can you not listen to them? We've gotta do something. That's the picture. That's the image that the presence of the kids is designed to create.

I was delighted to be asked to illustrate a package featuring a piece by the great Kevin Drum about the GOP, the Party of Crazy.

How best to describe a political party taken over by right-wing zealots bent on self-destruction? As Senator Lindsey Graham says: "We're not generating enough angry white guys."

So how about an elephant eating itself? How would that look?

Even after a major defeat the Republicans seem to be having a hard time not pissing off Americans who aren't millionaires or lovers of Fox News.

So what kinds of things have they been telling themselves about Barack Obama?

Well, he's a secret Muslim, speaks Arabic, would bring 100 million Muslims to "Islamify" America. Obama's wedding ring has Koranic verse engraved on it.

Uh, did you know that he's the "Lizard Overlord"? This apparently is in the Bible.

Two reporters from The Daily Caller wrote a book called The Lizard King, a shocking account of Obama's intergalactic ambitions. This makes sense.

He's also seeking dictatorial powers, coming for your guns, your gold. Setting up FEMA concentration camps.

Establishing slave labor. He'll take away your food. Caused Hurricane Sandy - using the Pentagon, of course.

And we know his middle name is Hussein. Obama, you know, is in the pocket of the Muslim Brotherhood. Mmm-hmmm. Once aided the Mujahedin in Afghanistan running weapons.

He also killed his Grandmother so he could steal and hide his true birth certificate. ... issued from Kenya, of course. This is a little-known fact.

In addition he's planning a radical overthrow of the United States. His parents were Communists. He's a devotee of Bill Ayres, who's also his ghost writer.

He was a Black Panther, and also he's the son of Malcom X.

. . . To paraphrase the Greek proverb, "Those whom the gods would destroy, they first make go completely stark-staring nuts."

Anchor David Nelson: "What is your message to voters?"

Ann Romney: "My message, really was, ‘women, I hear your voices,' and the interesting thing about this economy, this tough economy that we're going through, is that women have been hit the hardest. And I wanted to make sure that women of America knew that we have been across this country for the last year and a half and we are very aware of how tough it is for them.

They are juggling so many things, and I think all of us know that women work harder than anyone and that they hold down jobs, they are raising the kids, they're trying to get food on the table and everything else and they're really being stretched and my message was really for women and it's saying ‘trust my husband, he does not fail he will not fail' and he is going to work harder than anyone to make sure that your economic prosperity and your future will be more sound with him."

Anchor David Nelson: "Here in Iowa, as you know, same-sex marriage is legal. Do you believe a lesbian mother should be allowed to marry her partner?"

Ann Romney: "You know, I'm not going to talk about the specific issues. I'm going to let my husband speak on issues. I'm here to really just talk about my husband and what kind of husband and father he is and, you know, those are hot-button issues that distract from what the real voting issue is going to be at this election. That, it's going to be about the economy and jobs.

Anchor David Nelson: "Do you believe that employer-provided health insurance should be required to cover birth control?"

Ann Romney: "Again, you're asking me questions that are not about what this election is going to be about. This election is going to be about the economy and jobs."

Anchor David Nelson: "Well, a Pew Research poll shows those issues are very important to women, ranking them either "important" or "very important."

Ann Romney: "You know, but I personally believe, and this is what I'm hearing from women all across the country that they are going to look for the guy that's going to pull them out of the weeds and get them job security and a brighter future for their children. That's the message.

Listen, I've been across this country, I've been for a year-and-a-half on the campaign trail. I've spoken with thousands of women and they are telling me, they're telling me a couple of things, one they say they're praying for me which is really wonderful, and then they're saying, ‘please help, please help. We are so worried about our jobs.'

So really if you want to try to pull me off of the other messages it's not going to work because I know because I've been out there."

Anchor David Nelson: "Well, I don't want to pull you off any message. You just told a reporter who was questioning you in Cleveland that you want women to have a secure and stable future. I asked you about marriage and whether lesbian mothers should be allowed to marry. Isn't marriage a part of creating a stable future?"

Ann Romney: "You know, again, I'm going to talk to you about the economy and about job creation and about how my husband is the right person for the right time. This is going to be an election that is very important for women, and we are going to make sure that their economic prosperity is more certain under a President Romney."

Birth control is just that, control. A woman's right to control when and if she has a family is directly related to the economy. Her husband has vowed to 'get rid of planned parenthood' that helps thousands if not millions of women in this country have access to birth control.

Cory Booker Goes Rogue, Kisses Up to Bain ~ with Obama UPDATE

Cory Booker, the Democratic Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, schlepped up a bunch of praise for Romney's Bain Capital on Sunday while throwing Obama's talking points about Romney off a pier.

Transcript from NBC's Meet the Press Sunday May 20

Mayor Booker: . . . I have to say from a very personal level I'm not about to sit here and indict private equity. To me, it's just, we're getting to a ridiculous point in America. Especially, I know, I live in a state where pension funds, unions and other people are investing in companies like Bain Capital. If you look at the totality of Bain Capital's record, they've done a lot to support businesses, to grow businesses, and this to me, I'm very uncomfortable with.

David Gregory: . . . local officials like yourself, who are out there trying to grow the economy, who say hey, wait a minute, let's not indict all of private equity, and yet you have a campaign that's making him out to be Gordon Gekko. They, they want the voters to think that Mitt Romney is Gordon Gekko and Wall Street greed and a throwback.

Mayor Booker: Well, again, I talk to the White House quite often. I'm a surrogate for the Obama campaign. The messages that they're sending me out to do, out to talk about is nothing about this.

This kind of stuff is nauseating to me on both sides. It's nauseating to the American public. Enough is enough! Stop attacking private equity. Stop attacking Jeremiah Wright. This stuff has got to stop because what it does is it undermines to me what this country should be focused on. It's a distraction from the real issues. It's either going to be a small campaign about this crap, or it's going to be a big campaign in my opinion about the issues the public cares about.

This was actually a very courageous thing for Cory Booker to do...So that's great!...He stuck to his guns even on YouTube. That takes guts. That takes guts - I'm proud of him...That is the definition of a hostage video...It makes it so much worse and it underlines the fact of how bad the White House's position is on this, that the White House had to stick a gun...I mean, it's a hostage video....He got really scared when they said 'we're going to cut off your head' but he didn't realize they were just talking about the framing...'we're going to cut off the top of your head' - that's why he's so scared...

BTW, You do realize Mayor Loudmouth that you single handedly changed the frame of Obama's campaign message from Romney's job creation record to an attack on private equity firms. The campaign message has never been an attack on private equity firms. But you single-handedly changed the frame of the message. That is why you will find yourself persona non grata as far as support from the Democratic party goes. Be content with being a mayor because that is as far as you will go.

What hath ye wrought, Mr. Mayor? What a colossal mistake you've made. Stepped on all on Obama's message of right vs wrong. You're a mayor. So disappointed. You will be in a Romney ad by the end of this week showing how even you think Bain is a noble enterprise. This video does not even begin to undo the damage you have done. Shame.

When you're president, as opposed to the head of a private equity firm, then your job is not simply to maximize profits. Your job is to figure out how everybody in the country has a fair shot
...If your main argument for how to grow the economy is 'I knew how to make a lot of money for investors,' then you're missing what this job is about.
My job is to take into account everybody, not just some.
This is not a distraction. This is what this campaign is going to be about, is what is a strategy for us to move this country forward in a way where everybody can succeed.

Tamron Hall Puts Kibosh on Ranting Repug

MSNBC Host Tamron Hall invited Washington Examiner Columnist Tim Carney onto her show to talk about the disturbing allegations that Mitt Romney bullied and attacked a gay student with scissors while attending Michigan's posh Cranbrook School in the 1960s. Details were published in the Washington Post yesterday.

A heated brouhaha ensued when Carney attacked Hall and the rest of the "tricky media" for creating "meta" instead of news.



What you're doing here is a typical media trick. You hype up a story and then you justify the second-day coverage of the story by saying, oh, well people are talking about it.
. . . You are bringing up a meta story here, which is what is Romney’s response to this other nonstory? I’m trying to go ‘meta meta’ on you and say here’s the media treatment of the Romney response.

He refused to go beyond his talking points and Tamron called him on it...FANTASTIC! It may be uncomfortable to watch, but it's time that we expect more from the candidate's surrogates. He did NOT answer the question, but did the usual deflect and come back around to attack the person asking the question. I guess he hit the "lame stream" media when it wasn't so lame...it fought back.
