Video of the Missouri Rodeo Clown Taunting Obama

"Oh boy, Obama - they're comin' for you this time!
We're gonna smoke Obama ... Obama they're coming for you this time. Don't you move, he's gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha!"

Glenn Beck: The Left is "Terrified" of Clowns, and therefore he declares himself one

Look at what is happening to the Rodeo Clown. . . . Let me tell you something, Rodeos - The Rodeo Association - if you go down this road, you will forever damage rodeos. You'll shut them down. Because who the hell is going to your rodeos? Who's going? It's not a bunch of people who are politically correct. They're, they're clear-thinking, common sense farmers, cowboys, straight-ahead Americans. That's who's going. You had one stupid letter that showed up on Daily Kos. Now, now hang on just a second. Who's reading that? Leftists.
Now why would you go target the Rodeo Clown? Why would you destroy him? And why is the NAACP saying that there should be an investigation by the Secret Service and the DOJ on that Rodeo Clown?
It's a Rodeo Clown, at a State Fair, wearing a stupid mask? What's goin' on? I'll tell you what's goin' on. They're terrified.
They have GOT to shut you up. They have got to get you so afraid that you will not say anything, that you will continue to sit down. They are terrified. They know it's about to fall apart. They know this thing is falling apart. That's why they're going after the Rodeo Clown. They're freaking out! Good.
Advance America! Advance! Don't you dare retreat. Don't you dare sit down.
Today I declare myself Officially a Rodeo Clown.
Today I Officially Declare that We are ALL Rodeo Clowns.

Peggy Noonan: Obama Needs to be "Classier" than the Rodeo Clown That Pretended to Have him Gored by a Bull with a Cattle Prod up his Butt

Let me suggest a classy Obama move that might go over well. From his Vineyard vacation spot he should have the press office issue a release saying his reaction to finding out a rodeo clown was rudely spoofing him, was, ‘So what?’ Say he loves free speech, including inevitably derision directed at him, and he does not wish for the Missouri state fair to fire the guy, and hopes those politicians (unctuously, excessively, embarrassingly) damning the clown and the crowd would pipe down and relax. This would be graceful and nice, wouldn’t it?
~ Peggy Noonan in Wall Street Journal

Dana Loesch: Firing Racist Clowns is Unfair Because Free Speech and Benghazi

Is the outrage because the Missouri State Fair receives taxpayer dollars? I’m not sure if the others that have mocked presidents in the past accept subsidies, but since when are Democrats concerned about wasting taxpayer dollars? They just wasted mounds of it targeting political opponents through the IRS. They’re buying drones to monitor us in violation of the Fourth Amendment. They allocated funds to send arms overseas and they sent arms across the border to Mexico. Sure, if they’re seeing the light, yes, cut the fair’s funding. I’m not sure why they’re still receiving it in this economy (or any, really). But if they’re attempting to argue that free speech is restricted if one receives federal funding, progressives tie their own hands with policy.
~ Dana Loesch on Red State

Steve Stockman, R-Texas: We Need More Racist Clown Humor in Texas, YeeHaw!

“Liberals want to bronco bust dissent. But Texans value speech, even if its speech they don’t agree with. From Molly Ivins to Louie Gohmert and every opinion between Texans value free and open political speech. I’m sure any rodeo in Texas would be proud to have performers.
Disagreeing with speech is one thing. Banning it and ordering citizens into reeducation classes for mocking a liberal leader is another. Liberals have targeted this man for personal destruction to create a climate of fear.
The liberal reaction is straight out of Alinsky. They want to crush dissent by isolating and polarizing anyone who questions Obama, even if it’s a rodeo clown with a harmless gag. The idea to create a state of fear and make people afraid to trivialize Obama. No one tried to personally destroy the rodeo clown who wore a George H.W. Bush mask.
~ Congressman Steve Stockman R-TX, inviting the banned Missouri Clown to Texas

GOP Poutrage Diva Peggy Noonan Stays at Hotel Crap, Blames the President

 photo 989369553_fcf209ff40_z.jpg

So-called "Celebrated" and increasingly depressed Wall Street Journal writer Peggy Noonan apparently doesn't realize she can just walk out of her bad hotel when she realizes it isn't the Ritz-Carlton. Instead, she projects own sadness (probably about Mitt not winning the election, as predicted by her special vibrations about yard signs) and feels moved to write an extended Best-Days-are-Behind-Us metaphor about Apocalypse America because . . . it's Obama's fault.

Apparently she's never visited Trip Advisor. Or perhaps her secretary should.

Wall Street Journal
I'm in Pittsburgh, making my way to the airport hotel. The people movers are broken and we pull our bags along the dingy carpet. There's an increasing sense in America now that the facades are intact but the machinery inside is broken.

The hotel has entrances on two floors. I search for the lobby, find it. Travelers are milling about, but there's no information desk, no doorman, no bellman or concierge, just two harried-looking workers at a front desk on the second level. The man who checked me in put his phones on hold when I asked for someone to accompany me upstairs. As we walked to the room I felt I should explain. I told him a trial attorney had told me a while back that there are more lawsuits involving hotels than is generally known, and more crime, so always try to have someone with you when you first go to your room. I thought the hotel clerk would pooh-pooh this. Instead he said, "That's why we just put up mirrors at each end of the hall, so you can see if someone's coming." He made it sound like an amenity.

"What should we do then, scream?" I asked. He laughed and shrugged: "Yeah."

Things are getting pretty bare-bones in America. Doormen, security, bellmen, people working the floor—that's maybe a dozen jobs that should have been filled, at one little hotel on one day in one town. Everyone's keeping costs down, not hiring.

What that hotel looked like is America without its muscle, its efficiency, its old confidence.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few hours after this column reached WSJ readers, we learned American businesses added 246,000 jobs in February, and 2.33 million jobs over the last year. It's unfortunate that Noonan received poor service at a hotel, her attempt to extrapolate from that experience misses the mark.
I'll never know why Noonan's editors didn't send her a quick note, saying, "Um, Peggy? Are you sure you want to publish this?"
~ Steve Benen on Maddow Blog
Note the seamless segue from Peggy's statement of the preternaturally boring thing she is doing, straight into an unqualified statement about the "sense" of a nation of 300 million people. Peggy Noonan knows these things. She has traveled from frontier to frontier. Of airport hotels.
~ Gawker
Peggy Noonan Didn’t Like Her Hotel Room. Thanks Obama!
. . . Can’t you just smell the mines and poverty and sadness? Can’t you see the little children, their faces unwashed and bodies shriveled, an army of walking Walker Evans photos, making Peggy Noonan sad? Oh, sorry, no, we forgot. There are no waifs in this story, just a dingy carpet.
. . . Why did Obama fire all the hotel workers? Is it because he hates capitalism, and jobs, and wants everyone to be poor so they can all be ACORNs?
Yes. Stupid Obama murdered all the jobs.
~ Wonkette
"The room had one of those sad clown pictures from 1971, and when I looked closed, I could see a resemblance to America. I gazed longingly for a time in America when a gin and tonic before breakfast was okay, and I realized I was staring at myself in the mirror. When had I become a sad clown? Probably 1972."
The bedbugs heard Peggy was checking in and they left in a huff.
peggy noonan tries to exercise at the ymca: another in a series of tales from barack obama’s degraded amercia
. . . It is Wednesday morning, 8:30 AM, and I find myself carrying a faded pink duffel bag across the beaten and worn floors of my neighborhood YMCA as I search in vain for the duffel bag porter to relieve me of this burden and take it to my locker. A fire, perhaps the same fire that is smothering the very richness of American ingenuity under this blinkered administration, as rendered my usual workout facilities unusable, and I am left without recourse on this bitter morning, as bitter as the shapes of discarded American lives I see strewn all around me as I furtively look for someone, anyone, to assist me. There’s no one to call to, no one who can answer my plaintive cry for help, just as the White House is empty of anyone who can respond in kind to the plaintive cry of America herself in this dark time. There is no information desk, no concierge, no sports drink sommelier at this facility. These are good jobs that are going unfilled because of President Obama’s inability to fill them.
I go to the information desk and ask why there are no valets to take my duffel bag, but I am brusquely told to produce an “identification card” by which I may obtain entry into the facility. Yes, in Obama’s America, we are denied access to that which would nourish the steel and brawn of this nation . . .
Peggy Noonan Blames Obama for Drama-Rama Over Taxes
Photobucket
Republican Pundit Peggy Noonan on Wall Street Journal Nov. 30, 2012
You watch and wonder: Why does it always have to be cliffs with this president? Why is it always a high-stakes battle? Why doesn't he shrewdly re-enact Ronald Reagan, meeting, arguing and negotiating in good faith with Speaker Tip O'Neill, who respected very little of what the president stood for and yet, at the end of the day and with the country in mind, could shake hands and get it done? Why is there never a sense with Mr. Obama that he understands the other guys' real position?
It's not as if Mr. Boehner and the Republicans wouldn't deal. They've been weakened and they know it.
. . . No one would know this better than Mr. Boehner, who has risen to where he is in part because he's good at seeing the lay of the land and admitting what's there.
The president would only benefit from showing he has the command and capability to meet, argue, press and come to agreement. It would be heartening to the country to see this, and would impress the world. And the Republicans would like to get it done.
WSJ's Noonan: Crisis Is the Obama Way
~ Headline on Newsmax
Listen Peggy, elections have consequences. One of those consequences is that the losing side does not get to make demands like they won. You lost, Peggy. Badly. And unlike Bush’s 2004 Social Security bait and switch (which failed miserably), Obama is doing exactly what he campaigned on. You’ll take whatever you’re damn well given and like it!
Just as an aside: Notice that Peggy says Obama “wanted to raise taxes on those he calls the rich” as if people making over $250,000 are not rich? And this is not a tax raise on that first $250k anyway, it’s everything AFTER $250k. The median household income for 2012 was $50,054. If you’re making FIVE TIMES as much and still complaining you’re not rich? F**k. You.
~ Justin Rosario on Addicting Info
Tighten the squeeze on that couple, and they'll change how they live. They'll stop sending the struggling son to a neighborhood tutor, they'll stop going out to dinner once a week, they'll cut off the baby sitter, fire the guy who once a month does yard work, and hold back on new clothes.
~ Peggy Noonan
Of course, Peggy Noonan doesn't really want to know why everything always seems like a crisis. She just wants to create a rhetorical framework to make Republican behavior seem reasonable. The problem for her is that reality keeps on getting in the way.
~ Jed Lewison on Daily Kos
Peggy Noonan - Professional Concern Troll
~ comment by Beelzebud on Daily Kos
Just tell Peggy that the vibrations aren't right for Obama to negotiate against himself. She ought to understand that.
~ comment by litigatormom on Daily Kos referring to this column Noonan wrote the day before Election 2012 predicting a landslide for Romney because "all the vibrations are right."
MY GOD, it's official: they have sunk deeper and deeper and deeper into their DENIAL.
They have learned nothing from 6 November 2012.
They - can't HELP themselves now. They cannot come back to reality (assuming they ever were there, and with Noonan that is a BIG if).
Stunning.
~ comment by CoExistNow on Daily Kos
ooo ooo! pick me! pick me! i know the answer! because Tip O'Neill was:
• an honest man of integrity willing to put country first (ahead of partisan purity),
• a patriotic man who cared about what was best for the US as a whole,
and
• a smart man who understood that compromise is a necessary part of the political process;
and
• those three phrases do not describe Boehner (or McConnell)!
I know I'm right! What do I win???
What Happened to the Romney Landslide?
Photobucket
source: Media Matters
Previous Post:
Snark Amendment: Republicans Predict Romney Landslide
I said when I gave those predictions that if we have the same turnout pattern we had in ’08, obviously Obama’s going to win. And then I went on to say that wouldn’t happen. I said ’08 was an excrescence(?); it was an outlier year and in ’10 it went back to normal. Well, I was wrong. ’08 was not an outlier year.
~ Pundit Dick Morris on Fox News via Washington Post
Rove argued that Obama won with a smaller popular vote and a smaller margin of victory than in the 2008 election against Sen. John McCain. Instead of expanding voters, Rove argued, Obama "suppressed the vote" by demonizing former Gov. Mitt Romney and encouraging people not to vote.
"President Obama has become the first president in history to win a second term with a smaller percentage of the vote than he did in the first term," Rove said.
"But he won Karl, he won!" Fox News host Megyn Kelly interjected.
For weeks prior to the election, Fox News has been giving valuable air time to pollsters and pundits who predicted a Romney “landslide.”
These projections were in stark contrast to reputable poll results that were used in other media outlets; however, Fox News viewers were led to believe that the other polls were “skewed” against Mitt Romney. It turns out Fox News was skewed toward self-promoting “experts” who were universally wrong about their predictions.
The network extensively featured Dick Morris who predicted an overwhelming Romney win with 325 electoral votes and a strong popular vote margin. Morris was spectacularly wrong in his election analysis, as he has been for much of his career.
. . . Joining Morris in eating humble pie was Karl Rove, known as “Bush’s brain.” . . . In the end, Rove looked utterly foolish as the President won Ohio by almost two percentage points.
. . . It might be time for Fox News to find some other consultants to interview as viewers will soon tire of being played for fools.
~ Jeff Crouere on Bayou Buzz
From Michael Barone, Famous Conservative Political Analyst
The results are in and I was wrong when I predicted that Mitt Romney would win 315 electoral votes. For those of you who sent in nasty emails and for those who sent in reasoned arguments that I was wrong, please be assured that I will be on a diet of crow for some time. For those who sent in positive or thankful emails, remember that none of us wants to live in a country where one party wins every election even though we tend to wish our party would win every time, and so disappointment is a necessary attribute of living in an electoral republic.
. . . An electoral vote lead of 332-206, the likely outcome, is pretty wide given the narrowness of the popular vote margin; George W. Bush led John Kerry 51%-48% in the popular vote in 2004 and won the electoral college by only 286-252. But that is how our system works, and all the players and observers knew that going in. Including me. And, by the way, if you didn’t hear me before, I was just plain wrong.
. . . I take some pleasure in finding I have been wrong, because it’s an opportunity to learn more. As I prowl through the 2012 election statistics I will have an opportunity to learn much more about America and where we are today. A nation dissatisfied with the results of a Democratic president, Democratic Senate and Republican House has decided to return a Democratic president, Democratic Senate and Republican House. Lots to learn for all of us.
. . . this wasn't simply a case of partisans rooting for their side and letting that enthusiasm color their analysis. What was so unusual was there was no polling data to support the idea of a Romney Landslide. None. Zero. It did not exist. Instead, this was a school of conservative pundits incapable of imaging the president being re-elected, and incapable of imaging Obama not losing in a humiliating electoral rout.
~ Eric Boehlert on Media Matters
In short, the Right used ideology as the intellectual underpinning of their projections, while everyone else used facts. Nate Silver isn’t a mystic or the modern incarnation of Nostradamus – he’s an extraordinarily thorough polling analyst who bases predictions on a formula that accounts for real world margins of error and reporting discrepancies. It isn’t perfect, but the methodology is pretty airtight when it comes to projecting accurate odds. That’s why every half decent political analyst took Silver’s projections seriously and discounted the Right wing noise machine when it came to picking a winner.
This theme of fantasy vs reality goes far deeper than picking the winner in Presidential elections. It goes to the heart of what now constitutes conservatism in America, and why it is in perpetual decline.
Peggy Noonan's Non-Apology Apology For Being Wrong, via Wonkette
President Obama did not lose, he won. It was not all that close. There was enthusiasm on his side. Mitt Romney’s assumed base did not fully emerge, or rather emerged as smaller than it used to be. He appears to have received fewer votes than John McCain. The last rallies of his campaign neither signaled nor reflected a Republican resurgence. Mr Romney’s air of peaceful dynamism was the product of a false optimism that, in the closing days, buoyed some conservatives and swept some Republicans. While GOP voters were proud to assert their support with lawn signs, Democratic professionals were quietly organizing, data mining and turning out the vote. Their effort was a bit of a masterpiece; it will likely change national politics forever. Mr. Obama was perhaps not joyless but dogged, determined, and tired.
Apart from those points, everything in my blog post of Nov. 5 stands.
Romney voters, let me say a few words to you. Too many of you are only now beginning to see that for many months you have lived in a kind of informational and analytical bubble, shaped by conservative intellectual leaders who refused to fully and fairly process what the poll data was suggesting.
. . . But Romney voter, after all the necessary criticism of the conservative bubble regarding poll-analysis has been made, the truth is this: the most fundamental reason you remained in that bubble was your belief in your fellow citizens, in the general decency and common sense of the American public. Obama was so obviously bad, that you couldn’t believe that enough of your fellow citizens wouldn’t see it and act upon it.
. . . those who really look into your eyes will know it too: your bubble was built upon love.
And now, it is popped.
~ Carl Scott at First Things
It's time for Karl Rove to float away in his balloon
. . . You see, a good political strategist has to be willing to listen dispassionately to what the data tell him. He does not yell angrily at that data, like a distraught husband refusing to believe that his wife just left him. In that moment, Rove exposed himself as the petty figure that he is.
As Dorothy Gale, D-Kansas, famously put it, “Why, you’re not a wizard at all, you’re just a man! And you’re a very bad man for pretending to be a wizard.”
And after that, as I recall, the defrocked wizard floated away in a balloon, unable to steer a new direction because “I don’t know how it works!”
~ Jay Bookman, Atlanta Journal-Constitution
In truth, Romney was a perfect embodiment of the current GOP. As much as the Republican Party is a radical party, and a nearly all-white party, it has also become the Fantasyland Party. It’s an isolated and gated community impervious to any intrusions of reality from the “real America” it solipsistically claims to represent. This year’s instantly famous declaration by the Romney pollster Neil Newhouse that “we’re not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact-checkers” crystallized the mantra of the entire GOP.
. . . (Karl) Rove’s remarkably graphic public meltdown on Fox News—babbling gibberish about how his Ohio numbers showed a path for Romney even after the election was lost—marked not just the end of his careers as a self-styled political brainiac and as a custodian of hundreds of millions of dollars in super-PAC money. It was an epic on-camera dramatization of his entire cohort’s utter estrangement from reality.
. . . Michael Barone, the once-respected co-author of The Almanac of American Politics who in 2008 compared Sarah Palin to FDR and who this year abandoned his fact-based standard for a faith-based standard underestimating minority turnout; he predicted a 315 electoral-vote victory for Romney. Like Rove, Barone called nearly every battleground state wrong. (The professional pollster most admired by the right, the GOP-leaning Rasmussen, didn’t bat much higher.) (Nate) Silver got all 50 states right.
~ Frank Rich on New York Mag
Frank Luntz, Republican Strategist
“Look– the published polls that the Romney campaign and the Republican establishment were trashing day after day turned out to be accurate. And all the polls that are being done for the Republican establishment– I know that the House candidates who lost were shocked at what happened, the Senate, Republicans were supposed to gain seats they actually lost…
“This is a bad day for Republican pollsters, and it’s something that they should be held accountable for. You have to tell your clients the truth, and you have to be accurate. And to miss so many states and to be this far off, your Fox News viewers ought to be outraged, because day in and day out they were told that Mitt Romney was going to win, and the fact is Ohio was never up, Wisconsin was never up, Pennsylvania was never up…the published polls were correct. Nate Silver was correct. But the Republican establishment polls were wrong.”
Republicans Predict Romney Landslide
Photobucket
Peggy Noonan on Romney Quietly Catching Up with Obama:
Romney’s crowds are building—28,000 in Morrisville, Pa., last night; 30,000 in West Chester, Ohio, Friday It isn’t only a triumph of advance planning: People came, they got through security and waited for hours in the cold. His rallies look like rallies now, not enactments. In some new way he’s caught his stride. He looks happy and grateful. His closing speech has been positive, future-looking, sweetly patriotic. His closing ads are sharp—the one about what’s going on at the rallies is moving.
All the vibrations are right. A person who is helping him who is not a longtime Romneyite told me, yesterday: “I joined because I was anti Obama—I’m a patriot, I’ll join up But now I am pro-Romney.” Why? “I’ve spent time with him and I care about him and admire him. He’s a genuinely good man.” Looking at the crowds on TV, hearing them chant “Three more days” and “Two more days”—it feels like a lot of Republicans have gone from anti-Obama to pro-Romney.
Something old is roaring back. One of the Romney campaign’s surrogates, who appeared at a rally with him the other night, spoke of the intensity and joy of the crowd “I worked the rope line, people wouldn’t let go of my hand.” It startled him. A former political figure who’s been in Ohio told me this morning something is moving with evangelicals, other church-going Protestants and religious Catholics. ...
. . . There is no denying the Republicans have the passion now, the enthusiasm. The Democrats do not. Independents are breaking for Romney. And there’s the thing about the yard signs. In Florida a few weeks ago I saw Romney signs, not Obama ones. From Ohio I hear the same. From tony Northwest Washington, D.C., I hear the same.
Is it possible this whole thing is playing out before our eyes and we’re not really noticing because we’re too busy looking at data on paper instead of what’s in front of us? Maybe that’s the real distortion of the polls this year: They left us discounting the world around us.
