Palin Post On Dog-Standing Displays Obama Derangement Syndrome

Sarah Palin last week posted some pictures of little son Trig standing on top the family dog. Later, the animal rights group PETA had some harsh words for Palin. And of course, Sarah being the way she is, there had to be a response and it had to be a kooky Palinesque word-salad that combines life in Alaska, fish eggs, "Librul" privilege, and Obama Derangement Syndrome. So it's all good for collectors of Palin-lore like myself.

PETA President Ingrid Newkirk responded immediately to the photos:

“It’s odd that anyone — let alone a mother — would find it appropriate to post such a thing, with no apparent sympathy for the dog in the photo.”

And, as Palin bit back over the group’s initial comment, PETA responded again on Sunday.

“PETA simply believes that people shouldn’t step on dogs, and judging by the reaction that we’ve seen to Sarah Palin’s Instagram photo, we’re far from alone in that belief,” Newkirk said.

Aren’t you the same anti-beef screamers blogging hate from your comfy leather office chairs, wrapped in your fashionable leather belts above your kickin’ new leather pumps you bought because your celebrity idols (who sport fur and crocodile purses) grinned in a tabloid wearing the exact same Louboutins exiting sleek cowhide covered limo seats on their way to some liberal fundraiser shindig at some sushi bar that features poor dead smelly roe (that I used to strip from our Bristol Bay-caught fish, and in a Dillingham cannery I packed those castoff fish eggs for you while laughing with co-workers about the suckers paying absurdly high prices to party with the throw away parts of our wild seafood)? I believe you call those discarded funky eggs “caviar”.

Yeah, you’re real credible on this, PETA. A shame, because I’ll bet we agree on what I hope is the true meaning of your mission – respecting God’s creation and critters.

Our pets, including Trig’s best buddy Jill Hadassah, are loved, spoiled and cared for more than some people care for their fellow man whose politics may not mesh with nonsensical liberally failed ways or don’t fit your flighty standards.

Jill is a precious part of our world. So is Trig.

Chris McDaniel Leads Mississippi Mud-Slinging

The Polar Vortex dipped as far south as Mississippi last week, but that didn't cool down the Republican Primary race, and with increased heat and humidity this week, the "Long Hot Summer" is reaching a boiling point. The trouble with throwing hot-boiling mud is that some of it bounces back onto you. That's what is happening to the Mississippi Tea Party. Talk about muddying the waters! Some of it is worse than mud . . .

On Thursday, July 17, the State Supreme Court ruled that McDaniel and his minions couldn't view the birthdates of voters in the polling books. The people in charge of the state election had testified there was no reason to give out that information since voters were already vetted by those in charge, and McDaniel had no jurisdiction as a candidate. Also, apparently McDaniel produced no evidence of voter fraud anyway!

The state Supreme Court on Thursday rejected Chris McDaniel's request for access to poll books without voters' birth dates blacked out.
But McDaniel's lawyers are going to ask the court to rehear the case.
. . . In a statement Thursday, McDaniel said a Mississippi candidate "should not have to raise $100,000 to verify an election was carried out legally."

The McDaniel campaign had filed lawsuits against numerous county circuit clerks statewide over the access and was granted access in some cases, denied in others. It appealed its case against Harrison County Circuit Clerk Gayle Parker to the state Supreme Court, asking for an emergency order opening the records.
McDaniel accused Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann — who endorsed Cochran — of intentionally misleading circuit clerks to thwart him.
On Thursday Hosemann said, "Filing lawsuits against circuit clerks who are clearly following the law is both a waste of time and taxpayer money."

McDaniel has released no documents to substantiate his claims that thousands of voting irregularities occurred June 24.
The only registered voters prohibited from casting a ballot in the June 24 Republican runoff were those who had voted in the June 3 Democratic primary. Mississippi voters do not register by party, but state law bans people from voting in one party's primary and another party's runoff in the same cycle.

After losing in the Miss. Supreme Court, McDaniel once again showed he cannot lose gracefully by calling for the Republican Party to be "purged."

"They hired Democratic operatives to go out into Democratic communities and call me a racist," said McDaniel, who still has not conceded in the race.
"That's despicable," he went on.
"It goes to show that there are elements within our own party that have to be purged … There are elements within our own party that have no business being Republicans. Republicans should not behave in that fashion."
McDaniel was speaking on "Focal Point," a radio talk-show based in Tupelo. His comments were reported by The Associated Press.
. . . Ads that ran on black radio stations prior to the runoff said McDaniel would cut social welfare programs such as food stamps if he succeeded in the race.
"Because of the race baiting, because of all the nasty things they said about me and conservatives in this state, they pushed more than 40,000 Democrats into the Republican runoff," McDaniel said in the interview.



At some point McDaniel will have to accept that the election is over and Cochran won. But there is now a rift in the Mississippi Republican Party that may never be healed. McDaniel supporters are using the hashtag #RememberMississippi - and we know how long memories last in that state, where the Civil War seems like yesterday. Democrats hopeful for a win in November are urging them to "Please Proceed" with their in-fighting.

What McDaniel and his supporters are particularly good at is making accusations at everyone from black voters to journalists to people who dare to state an opinion on Twitter. They spent the past week throwing muck at anyone who accepts the election laws of Mississippi or questions whether McDaniel should just concede before he does more damage.

And McDaniel is the one cheering them on.

And some just want to simply change all-the- laws so that the Tea Party can win - an old story, but a dangerous one. Sore losers always want to change the rules. I don't think this will help them in the future, as it will just make Democrats more determined to win.

I had a meeting with Joe Nosef today. It was agreed that there must be apologies made on behalf of the Cochran campaign for the race baiting comments. Also coarse things said by McDaniel campaign. We can heal but there must be apologies first.

Just for the record to make things clear I did not say the Cochran campaign needed to apologize for ads run by a third party group. No more than I would say that the McDaniel campaign needs to apologize for the nursing home break in. But I do believe people on both sides who actually care about government & how it impacts their lives should make a sincere effort to find common ground. That could include a general apology for the tone of the campaign. And things done in the aftermath. I had a good meeting with Jeremiah and do not blame him for our small miscommunication. He is a nice young man and some of the people on here who are much older should listen to him.

I am willing to take one for the team today and say Mr. Nosef and the Cochran dog & pony show can go to hell where they all belong.
I have read comments made by Nosef on another thread that was posted yesterday and the guy doesn't understand the damage done. Cochran can apologize all he wants, but his words are just that, and a I doubt his ramblings would be sincere. Personally, I don't see anything Chris needs to apologize for. Cochran has stood by and allowed these pigs to run his campaign in the ground and cause collateral damage to the conservative base. The best thing he can do is resign, admit to the wrong doing of his campaign hands, and denounce all of the criminal activity. Until those things happen, Nosef, the Barbours and Cochran can kiss it where the sun doesn't shine. I think the majority of conservatives will not fall for the idea of an apology and everything will be just fine. The most terrible act one could do is paint another as a racist and once this has been done, we all will be viewed as just that, a racist.

The Republicans elected Chris. Period. Fix that. I hate politics. I have lost sleep over this and ignored my children trying to follow the news. At least they know that it matters though. I waved a flag and held a Chris sign for the first time in my life (so therein I am a problem too). I want a clean house with professionals who listen to the people and have their eyes on the Lord. Repentance requires stepping away and finding yourself again. I felt helpless as I watched a man I had voted for for years do something that as a social worker I condemn. There is a paper trail. #OpenCarry Storms the Home Depot

In the past few weeks the gun nuts have been parading around intimidating families at fast food restaurants thanks to the group Open Carry. This led to a pushback campaign from Shannon Watts and the gun control advocacy group Moms Demand Action which lobbied restaurants with hashtags #ShakesNotShotguns, #RibsNotRifles and #GrillsNotGuns. The corporations responded quickly by banning guns in the restaurants - common sense prevailed.


Even the freakin' NRA issued a statement against Open Carry Texas:

"[W]hile unlicensed open carry of long guns is also typically legal in most places, it is a rare sight to see someone sidle up next to you in line for lunch with a 7.62 rifle slung across his chest, much less a whole gaggle of folks descending on the same public venue with similar arms," the statement said. "Let's not mince words, not only is it rare, it's downright weird and certainly not a practical way to go normally about your business while being prepared to defend yourself. To those who are not acquainted with the dubious practice of using public displays of firearms as a means to draw attention to oneself or one's cause, it can be downright scary. It makes folks who might normally be perfectly open-minded about firearms feel uncomfortable and question the motives of pro-gun advocates."

The NRA made clear it "does not support bans on personalized guns or on carrying firearms in public, including in restaurants. " But it concluded that "when people act without thinking, or without consideration for others – especially when it comes to firearms – they set the stage for further restrictions on our rights."

But rare common sense from NRA didn't stop Open Carry, whose members stormed a Home Depot in Dallas this weekend.



And a new hashtag was born on Twitter - #Ammosexuals - men who get off on guns and ammo and can't live without them - like the guys in the pictures below. The term was coined by Raw Story:

So that is why we have ‘open carry’ days where groups of men trade in their week-day uniform of polyester pants and 3 for $12 dress shirts with matching ties from Walmart, for easy-fit jeans, a t-shirt that used to fit, and a backward-facing ball-cap before heading out a to fast food place to walk around carrying a gun in the noonday sun because …. freedom.

Saturday’s rally began in the parking lot of a Home Depot. Corporate spokesman Stephen Holmes said that while Home Depot allows customers to carry legally permitted weapons into its stores, “we do not allow solicitation or organizing by third parties on our property.”
The Open Carry supporters were not asked to move on Saturday. But should they return for another rally, Holmes said, “we’ll remind them of that policy.”

. . . The gathering Saturday generated dozens of critical comments on Home Depot’s Facebook site.
In one typical post, a woman from Dallas wrote, “Since we can’t know when this fanatical anti-woman, death-celebrating-culture group will snap, we’ll be going to Lowe’s from now on.”

Amy Hedtke of Whitesboro wasn’t worried about anyone snapping. She brought four children and two dogs to the rally.
“I’m anti-gun-free zone,” she said. “I’m a huge supporter of the right to self-defense.”
She joined group members at the intersection of Precinct Line Road and Mid-Cities Boulevard. There they waved flags that said “Come And Take It” and passed out Open Carry cards. Many drivers responded with horn-honking support.
Afterward, the group returned to the Home Depot lot, where a raffle was held. Among the prizes: T-shirts and boxes of ammunition.



Here are just a few of the thousands of angry comments left on this Home Depot's Facebook:

I gave Home Depot 20 years of business. Lowes will now get the next 20 years of my business considering the idiotic policy HD has allowed an armed group of socially deficient angry people to roam your aisles. What will you do when one of them sticks a product in his pocket and walks? Think any of your "security " people will do anything? Beyond stupid is this decision by whoever thought it would make people happy.

I live in Texas...and for most of my life have lived in the DFW area where this store is located. The MAJORITY of Texans (including the ones in the DFW area) do NOT approve of open carry events..we only approve of being allowed to own guns. As other places in Texas have discovered (Starbucks, Chipotle's, Sonic, etc) most Texans do NOT approve and we vote with out wallets. BTW, most of these open carry nuts are not gardening and buying lots of items from Home Depot in the first place. As to your comment that this is tantamount to them watching someone get punched, not actually doing the punching, I think that watching and not stopping it is JUST as bad as doing it!!!!

hey, be brave, open carry guys. Try it at a bank. A country club where GOP officials hang out. How about NRA headquarters? They won't let you open carry there, and we all know why. They don't trust you. Gun show? The organizers do not trust you enough to bring in your loaded gun. I believe them. It's not safe and you do, as the woman in the Texas sonic pointed out, look like total dumbasses. And scaredy-cats. I'll shop where the non-afraid shop.

Bea's Restaurant in Chattanooga Tenn. Says "No" to President

NOTE: According to News Channel Nine in Chattanooga, none of this happened because the Secret Service doesn't announce Presidential visits three weeks in advance. And they are denying that they ever made a call to the owner of Bea's Restaurant. Make of that what you will . . .

The phone call ended, but like heartburn, trouble followed. Word got out. People started chewing on assumptions and rumors, and with a little help from the Lazy Susan of Internet gossip and Facebook, the story, told across Chattanooga, had suddenly turned into this:

Bea’s wouldn’t serve lunch to the president.

“That’s ridiculous,” Bradshaw said.

In these awful days of social division, where we assume and predict the worst about one another, Bradshaw found himself in a hot mess of accusations: racist, political and more.

“Vulgar,” Bradshaw described it.

Much of it was generated by Facebook and the Internet, something his grandparents and their telephone-on-the-wall-in-the-parlor generation could never have imagined (Bea’s had been in business 34 years before FB founder Mark Zuckerberg was even born).

“It’s not political and it’s not racial,” Bradshaw said. “It wasn’t a refusal.”

The Secret Service just never asked if Bea’s would open on Tuesday; like some jittery preteen, the agent hung up before Bradshaw could even suggest it.

“What greater honor could we have than the president?” Bradshaw said.

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - Sticky Fingers was proud to serve President Obama during his Tuesday visit to Chattanooga but it may not have been his first choice. The owner of Bea's Restaurant says he received a call from the secret service, asking if the president could have lunch there. The problem was, Bea's isn't open on Tuesday.

The owners at Bea's say the conversation only lasted 10 seconds and that they weren't given an opportunity to say yes or no. Part-owner Doug Bradshaw said secret service simply ended the conversation.

"Just the whole thing has been blown out of proportion and taken out of context," said Bradshaw.

Bradshaw says he's under social media and internet fire, people claiming he denied the president a Chattanooga staple when it comes to food.

Not the case says Bradshaw, he remembers the phone call took from secret service, "I asked the date, they told me and I said we're closed Monday and Tuesday. They said thank you and hung up. That's it. 10 seconds maybe."

Bradshaw says they didn't give him time to even discuss opening on a day off, which he says he would have done, "most definitely, I'll open in the middle of the night for the president. If he wants to come here and eat, I'll open."

More specifically open to the public as well, because when President George W. Bush came to Chattanooga in 2007 he too wanted to eat at Bea's but only if it was closed to the public.

I looked through your posts to find what you had posted earlier about "the call." Evidently I have over looked it or it has been deleted. But from what I read in your posting and shared with a friend when I read what Bea's posted...There seems to be some tweaking to the story today and the posting I can not find on your page. Well. I deleted that post because it wasn't intended to incite anything. I wrote it on my phone that is tiny.. And realized I didn't convey what I was trying to convey. In short when they called it was a 45 second call, and when I wrote " we said no" I meant to say that we said " we are closed and there was no call back number because we don't have caller ID".. Not mention it was busy. I wrote that post on an old phone.. In a car with two kids in the back.. And I didn't get it all written like it was supposed to be, then I got home an hour later and it had become something it never should have been.

A LOT of stuff got blown out of proportion during this recent presidential visit. Just silly. Life goes on--and in another 3 years, no one will care what happened last Tuesday anyway.

I want to say something, and I do NOT want to start an argument or drama for our friends at Bea's.
I think it is truly SAD , the way people are coming out of the woodwork to crucify a fine,long standing and historic establishment over a situation, that most people, clearly, are not 100% informed. I had hoped the article that was released from the Press this morning, would clear it all up. Sadly, there are those that still choose to berate and belittle the situation.
I am PROUD to live in the same area as an awesome place, that has kept its morals, its business practices, and even kept its prices fair in a really bad economy. Bea's isn't ike a chain or franchise. They reach out to us all, in person and on FB. They are what makes America, AMERICA... I know they didn't "turn away" , anyone, it was a brief call that has been blown WAY out of proportion.

I think that's pretty darn pushy and inconsiderate to call someone unannounced give them a few seconds and hang up. Don't even give them the time to weigh their options like are they for real, can I open on an off day, can I staff enough people, do I have enough time to organize it, what are the repercussions, could we handle customer complaints and so on. You can be an important somebody and still have manners. And how in the world do you live in Chattown for 21 yrs and never hear about Bea's? lol

With his tight schedule, I am surprised if the president got to wolf down anything before he had to board Air Force 1 and leave. I haven't heard any comments about whether he liked his meal or not or any comments about Chattanooga in general. We are old news, on to other things.

I don't know that it has much to do with race, but I do think it's a disrespectful snub, and probably more politically charged than anything else. I don't know of any business owner who wouldn't have gone out of their way and opened their doors for a president they supported. Seems to me like it was just an opportunity to tell the President "screw you." What a unique honor, to have been selected of all the potential eateries in the city. Such a lost opportunity.

Paula Deen Fired from Food Network Over Racist Remarks

On Friday June 21, 2013 Paula Deen was supposed to appear on the NBC's Today Show with Matt Lauer but she bugged out:



Later that day she released two separate apology videos. The first was made private after a few minutes probably because people on Twitter mocked the sharp edits and Paula's crazy look - too much make-up and frowsy hair. The second with a more composed Paula Deen was released a few hours later.

The cable channel dropped the controversial celebrity chef from its programming lineup Friday in the wake of a deposition that recently surfaced in which she is quoted expressing racist sentiments and using the “N” word.
Food Network issued a statement this afternoon: “Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when it expires at the end of this month.”

Deen has been a star attraction on the cable channel, which is owned by Scripps Networks Interactive, since 1999. She has starred in multiple cooking shows for the network, most recently “Paula’s Best Dishes,” since 2008.
Her primetime perch at Food Network enabled Deen to build a multimedia empire around herself that extended to restaurants, cookbooks and other merchandise.

In a statement to CNN released on Friday night, the chef thanked the network for 11 "great years."
"I have had the pleasure of being allowed into so many homes across the country and meeting people who have shared with me the most touching and personal stories," she said. "This would not have been possible without the Food Network. Thank you again. Love and best dishes to all of ya'll."
The apology may be a little too late for the network, which announced Deen's firing early Friday afternoon. On the morning of Saturday, June 22, Deen's scheduled one-hour block of programming was yanked from the channel, with Giada Laurentiis' Giada at Home and Ree Drummond's Pioneer Woman being shown instead.

(Wasilla, Alaska) Almost 200 people showed up to hear the speakers, and to enjoy the breezy weather and the gorgeous view of the Chugach Mountains in the background of Wasilla Lake. It was about 23̊F with a 20 mph east wind off the lake.
The proceedings began with a moment of silence in respect to the Founding Fathers and the Framers of the Constitution followed by a pledge of allegiance to the Flag. Typical Tea Party fare.
It was commented that while today’s weather may have been a little brisk, it was nothing like the experience of the Continental soldiers under General George Washington at Valley Forge.

The rally was wonderful! About 110 people were in attendance. The guest speaker's messages touched chords in the hearts of the people. We had an open mic in which people could voice what was on their heart. The liitle chidten were wonderful with the pledge and the young ladies lifted beautiful voices! Praise the Lord!

State Patrol has jurisdiction over the property at the State Capital (which is why THEY are security inside, etc). As it is state property, they limit firearms on said property.
As for Denver, without reviewing the ordinance, I'd bet firearms are required to be unloaded.
I see no reason to give the lame stream media footage of everyone wandering around with firearms. I saw a comment that empty holsters would signify legislation "disarming" us. .kinda liked the idea.

Got to Georgia State Capitol at 11:05AM and no one was there so had an easy time parking. After about 30 minutes of walking alone in front of the Capitol steps with my Impeach Obama sign, a reporter came over from an 11 Alive News Van (WXIA Atlanta) and asked if he could interview me on camera which he did do. Then he left and drove away. A couple of police cars then arrived and parked across the street watching me, I guessed for my protection. It was a cold and windy day. I was about to leave when one man joined me asking if I had another sign which I did not (note to self). After another 30 minutes or so we were joined by two more Patriots. So Georgia was represented by us four. My interview was not shown later on the new; no surprise there. (Just watched Sunday news shows on what I call Susan Rice day where the "news" media promotes the lies of the week of the Obama administration). All in all it would probably do as much good to put on sackcloth, go to the Capital, and carry a sign "Repent. The End is Near". That may have more impact,but, I doubt it. Obama supporters did not heckle us, they politely asked if they could take our pictures, as a novelty maybe, the last of our kind.

I was quite disappointed in the turn out in Buffalo today at Niagara Square...I would guess maybe 50 people at the most attended (and that is probably a gross overestimate). We drove 52 miles to attend the rally to show our support...I would think more people that lived closer (who didn't have such a long distance to drive) would have shown up for something as important as this....yes it was cold (even though we dressed warmly)...but we need to unite and let the government know we are serious! By the way, there were some very good impromptu speeches made at the rally.

I was very alone in Corning N.Y. today. I honestly thought more people cared about our 2nd Ammendment. My Father, who could not attend due to a doctors appointment, called and asked how is was going. I sent him a picture of just me standing there. I think he cried a little, I know I did.

Very sad turnout for Albany, the capitol of the state that just pushed through one of the worst offenders of our 2nd amendment. Let's hope Thursday proves much more productive and better organized or we are fighting a losing battle.

Oklahoma:

More than 100 people gathered at LaFortune Park Saturday to defend Americans' Constitutional right to bear arms. This was part of the nationwide "Day of Resistance".
"There's always going to be violence in this world," said co-organizer James Miller. "Whether you label it with a gun or a knife or a fist or whatever kind of violence you want to call it, it's just violence in general. Outlawing a weapon won't change it."
Signs, music, flags, a petition, and even a few guns were present at the event.

I really enjoyed the rally, but it kinda bummed me out to not see very many people there that were around my age (29) not a bad thing it just bothered me a little bit.

Thank you so much for the GREAT rally today! Yes, the crowd could have been bigger. Yes, there could have been carnival rides and a tractor pull. There was, however, great speakers and a wonderful group of people from diverse back grounds all gathered for a common purpose: to show support for the Constitution and for those that hold office and respect the Constitution. I was very disappointed after attending the Day of Resistance rally at LaFortune ball park in Tulsa. The attendance was a scant two, maybe 250 people! Thinking what I had to go through to get there, I understood why so few people showed up. I sent 3 email requests to the DOR organizer site asking for information such as WHERE is LFortune park? NO RESPONSE! Nowhere was there one single posting of its address - just LaFortune Park! I looked for LaFortune Park in two different phone books, called the Tulsa police (non emergency # and got no answer), called LaFortune golf course - # disconnected, looked in Tulsa city map and found no such place. Finally when we got into Tulsa, we stopped at a QT, asked and got the address!!!!! WHY DIDN'T THE ORGANIZERS POST THE PARK'S ADDRESS? Did they assume that everybody knows where the part is?! I'll bet there were plenty others who gave up because they too couldn'd find where the park is! I highly recommend a much improved organization for the next rally, if there's going to be one! I would help.

Holding an antique early 20th century rifle at his hip, longtime Tulsa resident Alfred B. West had one singular message to relay to lawmakers he suspects are attempting to infringe on his right to own firearms.
"They ain't going to get my guns," West said. "If (politicians) in Washington D.C. get their way, my gun will be illegal."
The former Iraq War veteran was one of many who expressed similar concerns during the national Day of Resistance rally held at LaFortune Park Saturday afternoon to show their support for the U.S. Constitution and right to bear arms.
An estimated 200 people attended the event held in conjunction with other gatherings across the country to oppose recent gun-control legislation proposals in response to several mass shootings in recent months.

The largest rally in Tennessee is expected to be in Sevierville.
At the rally gun owners will band together to protect their rights.
. . . David Pierce says he's an average guy who owns a few guns. He had the idea to organize the Sevierville rally because of his concerns.
"If you disarm the citizens, then the government takes over. You have tyranny and people are helpless," Pierce explained.
He says when he started planning he expected it to be a small gathering.
"Figured I'd get 50 or 60 people to come," he said.
But then the Sevier County Tea Party got involved.
"It's gone gangbusters in a very short amount of time," said Steve Osborn, with the tea party.
Attendance is now expected to be at least 500 people from all corners of East Tennessee.

We'll be back in April, on a Monday, blasting music, waving signs with a flag on a rifle, right as they all come down the steps to leave for the day. If that doesn't send a tingle up thier spines nothing will.
And we'll invite the gov to be a speaker, just so she can stand and face us all and tell it to our face. Her and others in govt that may oppose liberty are welcome to come and give testimony to thier peers. Come face us, tell us again how we need to be dissarmed, controled, brought to our knees before you to worship the government and beg for a piece of cake from our overlords.

As someone who has participated in every conservative rally held in Washington, DC, starting with the million strong 9/12 march in 2009 and every T-Party rally since, I am astonished that there is no "Day of Resistance" to be held in either Washington or Virginia. I signed up at the very beginning and never back from anyone. I'm really shocked.......
