CPAC 2014 ~ Lookit, We Have Crazy Women Speakers, Also Too

One question I've asked several times over the past few days is where are all the women of CPAC? There are only a few showing up in pictures I've seen, and even fewer on the stage. So today should be a relief except that the two women on the docket are Ann Coulter and Sarah Palin, who was actually banned from last year's CPAC, just like Chris Christie. What a difference a year makes! Oh wait . . . it's still the same old #GOP after all.

LA Times: The CPAC Gender Gap
. . . the CPAC mobile app listed 163 speakers and panelists. Men outnumber women by far.
The breakdown: 128 men (78%) vs 35 (21%) women. That’s a 57% gender gap, people. If Republicans have any hope of stopping the Democrats' blockbuster narrative that they are waging a war on women, they must first solve their own war of attrition on women.
. . . Even a writer on the conservative website, Breitbart.com, was brutal: “CPAC could have invited South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley or New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez," wrote Mary Chastain. "These women are not only in a position of power, but they are also minorities. Martinez can reach out to women and the Latino vote, which leans to the left. They did not even bring in Condoleezza Rice … she is respected on both sides of the aisle. CPAC also left out Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer.”

Romney Blimp Goes Limp Over Florida

The airship began its journey in Boca Raton, Engle said, moving south toward North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines.

As it traveled, adorned with a picture of the candidate’s smiling face and the slogan “America Needs Romney,” social media posts announcing its sightings followed, often including snarky comments that fit right in with the deep blue county’s voting history.

And then came the emergency landing. About 7:15 p.m., the airship was over Davie, trying to head southeast toward the Pembroke Pines airport.

But even though the airship was pointed east and at full throttle, the winds pushed it west.

“He [the pilot] just knew he wasn’t going to make it,” Engle said.
. . . Hours later, the 160-foot airship was deflated, flat and sprawled along the grass.

He came down tail first and then the gondola struck and then rolled to its side and deflated. It may not be breezy here on the ground, but when you get [to] 1000 feet, which this thing does operate at, I think the current is a lot different.

Joe Biden Unchained

Romney wants to, he said in the first 100 days, he's gonna let the big banks again write their own rules. Unchain Wall Street!
They're going to put you all back in chains.

After weeks of slanderous and baseless accusations leveled against Governor Romney, the Obama Campaign has reached a new low. The comments made by the Vice President of the United States are not acceptable in our political discourse and demonstrate yet again that the Obama Campaign will say and do anything to win this election. I'm told when I made that comment earlier today in Danville, Virginia, the Romney Campaign put out a tweet, you know tweets, and went on the air, went on the airwaves saying 'Biden's outrageous in saying that - I think I said, instead of unshackled, unchained or - anyway, outrageous to say that, that's what we meant. I'm using their own words. I got a message for them, if you want to know want to know what's outrageous, it's their policies, and the effects of their policies on middle class America, that's what's outrageous.

In other words, when Wall Street is "unchained," the rest of America is "back in chains" — that is, back at the mercy of the banks. Hyperbolic? Yes. Demagogic? Yes. But it's a totally plausible explanation when you consider the context.

Romney, God bless the guy, is energized himself on these campaign appearances now. Romney is fired up. They've got standing room only crowd right now in Colorado to see Paul Ryan. This enthusiasm is great to see. You talk about the 2010 midterms, Wisconsin, I've had this -- and I've had it for a while -- this sense that our voters just can't wait to get these chains off and get to the ballot box. They want November to be here tomorrow and the Democrat voters are not like that at all. Look at who Obama picked. Obama picked a buffoon.
This guy, folks, I think this Ryan pick has really rattled Bite Me. He's out there in Virginia, (imitating Biden) "I think we can win North Carolina." While he's in Virginia he says that: "I think we can win North Carolina." He doesn't even know where he is.
. . . Stephanie Cutter, deputy campaign manager to President Kardashian, said of course we have no problem with Biden's comments about putting everybody back in chains. I mean, President Obama probably agrees with Vice President Biden. That's what she said. I just read it. Stephanie Cutter believes that Obama agrees with Biden. It's just a metaphor, but everybody knows that's what the Republicans want to do is put the black people back in chains. This is just a metaphor. We totally stand by these comments. They're just decent guys, Ryan and Romney, decent family men. They want to put people back in chains.
I'm sitting here, I just hate the fact this stuff gets rewarded. I just despise the fact that this stuff gets rewarded. And it does. It works. I don't know what percentage. Thirty percent of the country stands up and applauds when Biden says this kind of stuff. Now, the Romney people said this is deplorable. This is the bottom of the barrel. This is the lowest of the low. And the Kardashian campaign said: No, President Kardashian totally agrees. We stand by the vice president fully. Anyway, Biden's exploding. Something's gotten under his skin. Biden is a walking gaffe machine. He's out there letting fly. He's in Virginia saying (imitating Biden) "We're going to win. We're going to keep North Carolina in our camp." While he's in Virginia.
