Pundits have been mocking the latest Benghazi investigation; Jon Stewart is mocking Karl Rove and his epic fail over Hillary's brain damage ("Brainghazi"); and the Bundy "Moocher Militia" is begging for food and bus tickets to get them the hell out of the desert.

All of that is upsetting to the Tea Party because crazy is all they've got these days, so of course now they have to do something bigger and crazier!

That's why they think it's the perfect time to overthrow the government in Washington DC this weekend. But don't worry, it will be Constitutional - very Constitutional. They are the true Patriots, after all. And boy howdy, it is going to be big, big, BIG! And they are going to send the President to prison in Guantanamo, and install Ted Cruz as their king, and put Nancy Pelosi on trial, and burn Harry Reid at the stake, and ... well, you get the idea.

But the best laid plans of mice and men and mad-hatters - well, you know. Things may not go quite as planned.

This isn't even the first time they've tried something like this.

In early 2013, the Tea Party and NRA attempted the "Day of Resistance" on which they would strut around holding their big guns. What were they "resisting?" Well, Obama and his "gun grab" that would lead to the concentration camps and Agenda 21 and the U.N. takeover and the black helicopters that would brainwash the children, of course! So to head all that oppression by the evil Obama, the Tea Party and NRA members would be so bad-ass that the Obamas would move right out of the White House and surrender.

But it didn't happen that way. There was no big showdown, nobody grabbed anybody's gun, and frankly no one cared that much. In several open-carry states, the Tea Party Libertarian faithful turned out to hold "Molon Labe" signs by the side of the road (the phrase means "Come and Take It" - sort of a dare to Obama). But the crowds were quite small and there was no overthrow of Obama's Imperialist Communist Muslin Gummint, so they had a sad.
My blog post about it:
Big Flop ~ Tea Party Day of Resistance

Then in October 2013, there was the "Truckers Ride for the Constitution" that was meant to "surround" Washington in some type of embargo situation and shut down the city, but they barely slowed down traffic:

From Washington Post
There were police reports of about 30 tractor trailers with American flags and signs for their protest — “Truckers Ride for the Constitution” — driving at the same speed as the rest of traffic on the Beltway in Friday morning’s rush hour. But by mid-day the truckers appeared to have broken into smaller groups amid already-heavy volumes of traffic and rain showers on a holiday weekend.
The trucker protesters seemed to be but a mere blip on the traffic cameras of area police officials.

But in spite of past failures, the Tea Party planners have high hopes this time, saying they believe 10-to-30 MILLION people are going to show up. Yes, 30 MILLION. Rachel Maddow had fun with that number tonight, LOL.

 And they want them to stay a while in Washington to make an impression this time, without saying exactly where they are going to live, eat, defecate, or whatever. Well . . . that's a LOT of people, and I'm not sure there are 30 million Tea Party members in the whole country. And even if there were, don't most of them pride themselves on keeping their jobs, taking care of their kids, and making it to church every Sunday? But I digress with this foul logic - just ignore me! They are quite enthusiastic:

This is a real tweet:

On to the Manifesto!

From "Patriots For America":
Concept of Operations:
Phase 1 - Field millions, as many as ten million, patriots who will assemble in a peaceful, non-violent, physically unarmed (Spiritually/Constitutionally armed), display of unswerving loyalty to the US Constitution and against the incumbent government leadership, in Washington, D.C., with the mission to replace with law abiding leadership. Go full-bore, no looking back, steadfast in the mission.

Phase 2 - One million or more of the assembled 10 million must be prepared to stay in D.C. as long as it takes to see Obama, Biden, Reid, McConnell, Boehner, Pelosi, and Attorney General Holder removed from office.
Consistent with the US Constitution, as required, the U.S. Congress will take appropriate action, execute appropriate legislation, deal with vacancies, or U.S. States will appoint replacements for positions vacated consistent with established constitutional requirements.

Phase 3 – Those with the principles of a West, Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson, Lee, DeMint, Paul, Gov Walker, Sessions, Gowdy, Jordan, should comprise a tribunal and assume positions of authority to convene investigations, recommend appropriate charges against politicians and government employees to the new U.S. Attorney General appointed by the new President.

*All actions in Phase 2 and 3 will be consistent with the U.S. Constitution.

Date of Operation: “OPERATION AMERICAN SPRING – Beginning Of Tyranny Housecleaning, May 16, 2014, completion to be determined

Now I admit that nothing would please me more than if, say, a couple hundred thousand Tea Party Militia members showed up on the National Mall and were arrested while making crazy threats against Obama and others, but I don't think that is what will happen. Nothing much is going to happen. But it's a good weekend to make popcorn, open our blogs, and celebrate the sheer lunacy of Operation American Spring.

From the conservative Washington Times:
“We are calling for [their] removal … as a start toward constitutional restoration,” said retired Army Col. Harry Riley, the leader of the group, Raw Story reported. “They have all abandoned the U.S. Constitution, are unworthy to be retained in a position that calls for servant status.”

. . . The group expects between 10 million and 30 million similarly thinking Americans to meet them in the capital on Friday for a rally that’s being billed as a sort of “Arab Spring” for Americans.
Meanwhile, the group is holding another event on the same day in Bunkerville, Nev., near cattle rancher Cliven Bundy’s property and in support of his stand-off with the Bureau of Land Management over grazing fees.
The Friday event was promoted by Tea Party Nation.

But Faithful Patriots, beware - don't bring your sidearms and long rifles!

From Raw Story

Operation American Spring organizers, however, insist participants disarm before coming to Washington, which bars the possession of firearms in public.

The Communist forces that control Washington DC do not recognize the 2nd Amendment and have banned all weapons and ammunition from the district,” the group says in its rules of engagement. “Do not give them the opportunity to arrest you and prosecute you. Leave your guns and ammo within the safe proximity of a free state. When the government is changed constitutionally so will the laws in Washington DC."
The group instead urges participants to carry Bibles and copies of the Constitution, although the rules of engagement twice mention that protesters may defend themselves.

The main thing is, they are going to LIVESTREAM, so make popcorn and get ready!

Now that the FBI is investigating the Bundy Ranch crowd, there's a whole lotta screaming denial and rationalization going on. "It's not us, it's them! Our guns weren't pointed at anybody - that was the BLM! Snipers? What snipers? Well, the BLM had guns too, neener, neener!"

Okey-dokey, let's just see how that excuse works in court when YouTube has hours of video with pictures of the self-professed Militia members. Not to mention all the talk on Twitter, Facebook, Message Boards, and other social media about what was happening at Bundy Ranch. There's a record all over the internet.

~ Militia Member at Bundy Ranch

From Talking Points Memo
Las Vegas TV station KLAS reported Thursday that the FBI has begun interviewing Clark County sheriff's officials in what the news station describes as a "formal investigation into alleged death threats, intimidation and possible weapons violations" on the part of the Bundy militia.
Sheriff Doug Gillespie confirmed to KLAS that FBI agents asked him whether he saw Bundy supporters point guns at metro police officers during last month's showdown, but declined to share what he told the agents.

KLAS News - Las Vegas, Nevada
FBI agents also spoke to an entire squad of Metro officers, who were on the scene to act as a buffer between the crowd and the BLM. Bundy supporters have insisted in emails and calls to 8 News NOW that no one in the crowd pointed weapons at BLM or Metro, but officers told the I-Team that is exactly what they saw, that many with guns set up behind women and children.

"It is not a rumor. When we first got out there and made a left to divide I-15, that is all you saw. You saw kids and women and horses in the backdrop and then men with guns, laying on the ground, in the back of pickup trucks. We're going, 'wow, this would never happen in Las Vegas,' But it was there. That is not a rumor. It is reality and I saw it with my own eyes," Metro Police Sgt. Tom Jenkins said.
Sgt. Jenkins has been interviewed by the FBI. A second squad is expected to be interviewed by week's end. The bureau does not confirm or deny the existence of any investigation but the I-Team have confirmed from multiple sources that a criminal investigation is underway.

I've wondered if this guy was a plant. From other photos you can see that he has an unscoped AK and is, what? 400+ yds from the feds and would be shooting over friendlies? Unless he's experienced shooting that rifle with open sights at that distance and angle he could dropping rounds right amongst the good guys.
Also from other photos it appeared that he was the only militia up there with a bunch of sightseers.

He’s pointing a paintball gun, that’s weird.

I watched the live feed for the entire 8 hours it unfolded. The Feds were the ones pointing guns. I never saw the protesters aiming guns at the Feds at any time.

Alex Jones said in a video a few days ago the following. "If you are questioned by the FBI, you're ending up dead more and more in their custody". I'm going to believe him on this one. The FBI are trying to silence the people, there is no crime against pointing a gun at someone, there is a crime against firing a gun against someone (situation based). The argument the BLM is using is the exact same argument that Bundy's supporters can, and will, use against them. You had 200 heavily armed BLM threatening murder to people who protested out of "free speech zones", sicced attack dogs on them, tazed people, and you wanna claim the victim, BLM? FBI, don't do this. It will not end well for anyone.

THe photos I saw, yes the protesters were on an overpass with weapons pointed at the Govt. goons,who were pointing their guns at hundreds of Bundy supporters. I think the supporters had no choice as the Govt. goons had been there for days,tazing people, herding them into areas like cattle etc. I beleive the Govt. is not done with the Bundy's. THey are waiting for things to die down,then will sweep in and do what who knows. THey will not just drop this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Militia members who flocked to Bundy Ranch a month ago made a spectacle of brandishing their firearms and pointing them at law enforcement. There are countless hours of video from Alec Jones's "Info Wars" on YouTube, as well as video from Fox News, CNN, NBC and local Nevada TV. The militia crowd cheered when the Bureau of Land Management pulled back and let some of Bundy's cattle go free, but maybe their celebration was premature. Justice is often delayed, but usually it comes back to bite people who threaten the government. Just because the Bureau of Land Management high-tailed it out of there that day doesn't mean this is over.

And some of these guys went so far as to threaten Senator Harry Reid with extreme bodily harm, which is also a no-no.

Don't poke the wolverine with a sharp stick, Harry,
unless you want your b*lls ripped off.
~ Mike Vanderboegh

Sorry, Posse Comitatus ~ you may have just shot yourself in the proverbial ass, or the b*lls or whatever body-part you are obsessing over today.

There was also the story that the Bundy Militia were stopping motorists near Bunkerville, Nevada, and asking people to see their official citizenship papers. Yeah, nothing wrong with that except ILLEGAL.

From Talking Points Memo
Rep. Steven Horsford (D-NV), who represents the area, sent the letter Sunday to Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie, asking him to investigate.

"I am writing to bring your attention to the ongoing situation in northeastern Clark County which has caused many of my constituents to fear for their safety," Horsford wrote. Residents in the area "have expressed concern over the continual presence of multiple out-of-state, armed militia groups that have remained in the community" since Bundy's dispute with the Bureau of Land Management came to a boil.

The militia, as reported by Horsford's constituents, "have set up checkpoints where residents are required to prove they live in the area before being allowed to pass," the letter said.

Here is one of the snipers interviewed at Bundy Ranch:

Yeah, he's a brave foot-soldier in the fight against the government, and he has no problem using children as human shields. What a guy! But now the FBI is investigating, so good luck with that.

From the Las Vegas Sun
Clark County sheriff's officials say they've been interviewed by the FBI as part of an investigation into armed supporters of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy.
Assistant Sheriff Joe Lombardo tells KLAS-TV that federal agents are looking into the conduct of people who reportedly pointed guns at officers during a standoff at Bundy's ranch April 12.

More From 8 News Now Las Vegas
Last week, the I-Team talked with Metro officers who intervened to protect the lives of federal employees from the 400 or so Bundy supporters and armed militia members. Officers told the I-Team they feared for their lives that day because of the assembled firepower, and because many in the crowd had pointed weapons at officers, taunted them, told them they should be ready to die.

It is illegal to point loaded weapons at federal agents, and most people know what would happen, if a suspect pointed a gun at a Metro officer in the Las Vegas valley.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Funny thing - as soon as it was announced the other day that the FBI was investigating these guys, the gun nuts on Twitter started chirping that THEY were the victims, that the BLM was scary and had pulled guns on THEM - "So shut up you Libtards, don't you know the Militia is in our desert saving our Liberty?" Also, they ain't skeered of no FBI!!! It was all someone else's fault - the BLM, Harry Reid, Barry Obummer, and Benghazi - don't ever forget Benghazi!!!!!
Meanwhile, the Locals are ready
for the Militia to Leave
And the Militia is obliging for now, taking their act of defiance on the road - to Utah.
From Las Vegas Sun
Ryan Payne, a Montana resident who had been staying at the ranch for a month, said he drove eight hours to arrive in the eastern Utah town this morning. Three militia members from the ranch and a handful of people from a group called Citizens Action Network came to Utah, too, he said.
"This is where it’s happening Saturday,” he said.
They and others Saturday will be armed, he said, and ride ATVs into Recapture Canyon, an area the BLM declared off-limits to motorized vehicles in 2007. The ride is organized by San Juan County, Utah, Commissioner Phil Lyman.
Payne met Friday morning with the San Juan County, Utah, Sheriff Rick Eldridge. Afterward, he said he expects Saturday’s protest to be peaceful because Eldridge pledged to “protect us from the BLM.”
More from Mother Jones
This Saturday, angry residents of San Juan County, Utah, plan to illegally ride their ATVs through Utah's Recapture Canyon—an 11 mile-long stretch of federal land that is home to Native American archeological sites—because they don't think that the federal Bureau of Land Management should have designated that land off-limits to motor vehicles. The protest was meant to be a local affair. But on Thursday, Bundy, the rancher who wouldn't pay the feds grazing fees and sparked a gun-drenched showdown in Nevada, called on his supporters to join the anti-government off-roading event, Phil Taylor reported. Bundy, whose crusade against the federal government became tainted by his racist comments, is looking to spread the cause from cattle to cross-country cruising.
"We don't expect any violence," San Juan County Sheriff Rick Eldredge told the Denver Post last week. Others aren't so sure, especially since the out-of-staters in attendance could help rile things up—which is what happened during the Bundy stand-off. "This may blow up to be significantly more than they thought," Bill Boyle, a resident of San Juan and publisher of the San Juan Record newspaper told the Post. "I think there are those who would like everyone with an AK-47 to be here."
 photo 20081118__BLM-Monticello-land.gif
From the Houston Chronicle
"This is where it's happening Saturday," Bundy backer Ryan Payne of Montana told the Las Vegas Sun. "This is a continuation of the Bundy affair."
. . . A 14-mile section of trail in the canyon is closed to motorized vehicles, BLM officials said, but there are more than 2,800 miles of trails open to them on public lands around Blanding.
Environmentalists and Native Americans criticized the protest ride, saying the ban is needed to preserve fragile artifacts. Mark Maryboy, a former Navajo Nation Council delegate, called it disappointing that the group had no respect for Native American culture.
"The American tradition of civil disobedience doesn't change the fact that the rule of law needs to mean something," Josh Ewing of the conservation group Friends of Cedar Mesa told The Tribune. "I'll be very disappointed in my government if it doesn't follow through on upholding the law."
Denver Post
. . . Juan Palma, Utah's director of the BLM, issued a less conciliatory statement.
"The BLM-Utah has not and will not authorize the proposed ride and will seek all appropriate civil and criminal penalties against anyone who uses a motorized vehicle within the closed area," Palma's statement read in part.
San Juan County, with more than 90 percent of its land public or belonging to the Navajo Nation, is a likely setting for another set-to.
It has long been a hotbed of far-right anger over federal intrusion into local affairs, especially after what were viewed locally as heavy-handed federal raids that rounded up dozens of longtime residents for artifact looting in the 1980s and in 2011.
San Juan County residents who support Saturday's protest ride identify themselves on their Facebook pages as fans of Bundy and guns-rights rocker Ted Nugent. They express hatred for President Barack Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat.
BLM employees in San Juan County have had windows shot out of their homes and their yards torn up by ATVs in the middle of the night.
From Salt Lake Tribune
Under the watch of several horse-mounted sheriff’s deputies, some 50 ATVs carrying multiple riders, including children without helmets and militia members with weapons at the ready, motored across an invisible line in the dust where the canyon was off limits.
"We are here to keep the peace and safeguard the constitutional rights of everybody," said San Juan County Sheriff Rick Eldredge. "We don’t want to see clashes between citizens and clashes between BLM and militia. This is not going to be Bunkerville."
The sheriff was referring to BLM’s recent stand-off with armed supporters of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, who has long refused to pay grazing fees. Bundy’s son, Ryan, joined the protest ride into Recapture Canyon.
The Militia members want to make it sound as if everything is just a peaceful ride in the desert, but just the other day a Bureau of Land Management employee told police he was accosted by a group of "hooded" men on a lonely road in Utah. Is this group part of the Bundy Militia? Are they targeting BLM employees? If so, the FBI needs to make their own round-up of these thugs quickly.
From the Southern Poverty Law Center - HateWatch
At first, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) livestock wrangler driving on Tuesday along Interstate 15 in Utah, about 260 miles from the scene of the Bundy Ranch standoff in Nevada, thought he was experiencing fairly standard road rage. But then it quickly escalated into a freeway stalking with masks and guns, and ended with a law enforcement manhunt.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the wrangler was pulling a load of burros and horses northbound on the freeway when a dark blue extended-cab Dodge pickup pulled up alongside him and a man gestured at him with a one-fingered salute. The wrangler eased up and let the men drive past him, then he continued on. Just after passing the town of Nephi, the men caught up to him again.
This time, they were wearing hoods. And they showed him a sign that read: “You Need to Die.” Then one of them pointed what appeared to be a Glock handgun at the wrangler.
As the wrangler again dropped back, he tried to get a license plate number. But it had been covered with duct tape.
. . . In response, Utah BLM employees began removing the agency’s decals from their vehicles as a “precaution,” according to Eric Reid, the wrangler’s supervisor at the BLM field office in Fillmore. “We’re toning things down.”
#BundyRanch stand-off in Nevada attracts Militias and Wingnuts
 photo 30f191d1-a34e-4c2b-990e-f43c3aa51fc1.jpg
A rancher named Cliven Bundy in Nevada refuses to pay what he owes the Bureau of Land Management for 20 years of cattle-grazing rights on public land, so they have moved in to seize his cattle. The far right rabble-rousers and conspiracy nuts are using Bundy's plight to make political hay (pardon the pun) and call for an all-out range war against the Obama Administration. The Nevada Militia has called for back-up, and that's fine as long as no one gets shot, which could happen any minute. Then they will blame Obama instead of themselves, of course.
From the LA Times
Officials say (Cliven) Bundy is illegally running cattle in the 600,000-acre Gold Butte area, a habitat of the protected desert tortoise. Last year, a U.S. District Court judge ruled that if the 68-year-old veteran rancher did not remove his cattle, they could be seized by the Bureau of Land Management.
On Thursday, federal authorities began closing off Gold Butte area and rounding up what they call “trespass cattle” there. Many of them belong to Bundy.
For two decades, Bundy has waged a one-man range war with federal officials over his cattle's grazing on 150 square miles of scrub desert overseen by the BLM. Since 1993, he's refused to pay BLM grazing fees, arguing in court filings that his Mormon ancestors worked the land long before the BLM was formed, giving him rights that predate federal involvement.
Bundy also likes to say he "fired the BLM," vowing not to give one dime to an agency that he says is plotting his demise. The back fees exceed $300,000, he said.
The father of 14 insists that generations of his family have ranched and worked this unforgiving landscape along the Virgin River since the 1880s. He says government overregulation has already driven scores of fellow ranchers out of business in sprawling Clark County, leaving him as the last man standing.
For years the rancher has insisted that his cattle aren't going anywhere. He acknowledges that he keeps firearms at his ranch and has vowed to do "whatever it takes" to defend his animals from seizure.
"I've got to protect my property," he told The Times last year. "If people come to monkey with what's mine, I'll call the county sheriff. If that don't work, I'll gather my friends and kids and we'll try to stop it. I abide by all state laws. But I abide by almost zero federal laws."
This is a lot bigger deal than just my cows. It’s a statement for freedom and liberty and the Constitution.
~ Cliven Bundy via Fox News
It just shows that we’re not a sovereign state. It just shows that the federal government thinks they have power over us. My county and my state is allowing this to happen. But you know what? They haven’t taken our cattle yet. We’re still hanging on.
~ Carol Bundy, wife of Cliven Bundy
Bundy with Sean Hannity on Fox, via Media Matters
BUNDY: Well, you know, my cattle is only one issue that the United States courts has ordered that the government can seize my cattle. But what they have done is seized Nevada statehood, Nevada law, Clark County public land, access to the land, and have seized access to all of the other rights of Clark County people that like to go hunting and fishing. They've closed all those things down, and we're here to protest that action. And we are after freedom. We're after liberty.
HANNITY: How far are you willing to go? How far are you willing to take this?
BUNDY: My statement to the American people, I'll do whatever it takes to gain our liberty and freedom back.
Despite having no legal right to do so, cattle from Bundy’s ranch have continued to graze throughout the Gold Butte area, competing with tortoises for food, hindering the ability of plants to recover from extensive wildfires, trampling rare plants, damaging ancient American Indian cultural sites and threatening the safety of recreationists.
From CBS Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS (CBS Las Vegas/AP) — Militia groups are rallying behind a rancher whose cattle are being seized by the federal government.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that two militia members from Montana and one from Utah have arrived at Cliven Bundy’s ranch.
“We need to be the barrier between the oppressed and the tyrants,” Ryan Payne of the West Mountain Rangers told the Review-Journal. “Expect to see a band of soldiers.”
Payne said that militias from New Hampshire, Texas and Florida are likely to join and stand with Bundy and stay at his ranch.
“They all tell me they are in the process of mobilizing as we speak,” Payne told the Review-Journal, adding that hundreds of militia members are expected.
The Review-Journal also reports that Bundy’s son, Ammon Bundy, was shot with a stun gun by law enforcement officers Wednesday and that the rancher’s sister, Margaret Houston, was pushed to the ground.
“I pulled the tasers out of him,” Cheryl Teerlink told the Review-Journal.
From The Blaze (conservative website):
“I’m seeing a lot of passionate Americans willing to stand up for important rights,” said Nevada state Assemblywoman Michele Fiore.
Fiore, a Republican, said Friday she has been making the 80-mile drive from Las Vegas to a growing tent city of militia members, advocates and protesters in dusty but scenic rangeland near Bundy’s ranch, just east of the Virgin River. She said she was horrified that BLM police used stun guns on one of Bundy’s adult sons during a Wednesday confrontation on a state highway near the Bundy melon farm in the Gold Butte area.
Video of that confrontation has spread on the Internet, along with blog commentary claiming excessive government force and calls to arms from self-described militia leaders. Some have invoked references to deadly confrontations with federal authorities, including a siege of a ranch home in Ruby Ridge, Idaho, in 1992 and the fiery destruction of a religious compound near Waco, Texas, that killed 76 people in 1993.
