Trump's Horrific Response to #LondonBridge Attack

London suffered a serious terrorist attack the other day with multiple lives lost as pedestrians were rammed with vans and stabbed with knives:

















Londoners rallied and started helping each other, as they always do, as sympathy poured in from the world.

On the other hand, our erstwhile 'leader' Donald The Trump spent the next 24 hours tweeting about fear of Muslims, pushing his Muslim Ban in the United States, and criticizing the Mayor of London - also a Muslim. He seemed to have no clue that emergencies call for a calm and cool response, not fear-mongering and political shenanigans. But then again, when has Trump ever been "Presidential" in any situation?

...The Brits fought back, launching drinking glasses and chairs at the savages who attacked them. The police acted with lightning-fast precision, killing the three assailants within eight minutes of the emergency call. And, God Bless him, a man returned to the bar where he experienced Saturday’s horror — to pay his bill and tip. Civilization is not going to be driven out of Britain by three or three hundred killers.
Meanwhile — and it pains me to write this — our president acted like a clod, a heartless and dull-witted thug in sending out a series of tweets....
. . . One is prompted to ask if he is off his rocker. But this is vintage Trump — impulsive and cruel, without an ounce of class or human decency. His behavior no longer surprises us, but it should offend and disturb us, first, that he remains the face and voice of America in the world and, second, that his fans hoot and holler, seeing this as inconsequential or acceptable conduct.

Keith Olbermann stated in his GQ "The Resistance" Video:

Let me apologize again to the world, particularly to the United Kingdom, on behalf of the United States of America. Donald Trump is not of sound mind. We are working to correct the problem as soon as possible. . . . In almost any other job in this country, assuredly in any other private sector job, no matter the financial cost, no matter the upheaval, no matter the blow-back, Donald Trump, our national embarrassment, our international disgrace, would have been fired by now.... everywhere from the Board Room at Microsoft to the deep fryer at McDonald's.

The KKK Past of Steve Scalise

Steve Scalise (R-Louisiana) is the House Majority Whip starting in January, but he is already drawing fire for a speech he made back in 2002 to a group founded by ex-KKK Grand Dragon, David Duke. When first asked about this, Scalise said he "didn't know" of a connection between Duke and the KKK. Yeah right. And he's been scrambling ever since.

The hashtag #SteveScaliseExcuses has trended several times.

Scalise's people said that he had no idea about the group's ideology. They are essentially blaming poor planning and lack of research for how Scalise ended up speaking before a group of white nationalists. (Erick Erikson asks a good question over at RedState: How do you show up at a David Duke event and not know what it is?) This excuse, while perhaps a valid one, doesn't change the fact that this is a very bad thing for Scalise, who is the third-ranking member of the House, and for the GOP as they attempt rebranding with minority voters.





In retaliation, David Duke issued his own ultimatum to critics of Scalise in Congress:

Duke said that he is shocked at the “insane” amount of attention he and Scalise are getting.

“Why is Scalise being singled out? I don’t know,” he said. “He was just going [to the EURO conference], obviously, to tell voters about some of his initiatives on some tax matters. That’s what it’s all about. And I think it’s insane, this whole process.”

He issued a warning to Democrats and Republicans who might try to ruin his friend’s career.
“If Scalise is going to be crucified — if Republicans want to throw Steve Scalise to the woods, then a lot of them better be looking over their shoulders,” Duke warned, intimating that he would reveal his ties to any politicians who attack Scalise.

I think that the fact that American people are confused and the fact that the Congress seems uncertain and the international community is not supportive is a reflection of the fact that the so-called commander-in-chief has not been acting as a commander-in-chief. He has not provided leadership.

GOP Seeks New Oompa-Loompa to Replace Boehner

If the country goes over the fiscal cliff, John Boehner will remain speaker. If Obama gets his wish of raising taxes on the top 2 percent, Boehner will face a staunch opposition come January.
Relinquishing Boehner of the speakership would take only 16 members of Congress to abstain from voting. If Boehner doesn’t receive 218 votes, the House will remain without a speaker much like they did during times of the Civil War.

Fire Boehner: We Only Need 16 Votes to Depose Boehner
If conservatives want to keep the House and win the Senate, we need to fire John Boehner as speaker of the House. We only need 16 House votes to do it.
. . . Everyone thinks it’s a fairytale, but the Conservative Movement is capable of firing Boehner with just 16 votes.
The House rules demand that a Speaker receive a majority—218 votes—to be elected speaker. If no nominee for speaker receives 218, the House remains speakerless—as it did during parts of the Civil War.
If 16 House Republicans were to abstain from voting for Speaker, Boehner would only receive 217 votes.
Once we depose Boehner and cause a firestorm, the Republican caucus will get the memo: Pick someone else! These 16 Republicans only need to hold out until the caucus chooses a new leader.

Conservative group American Majority Action (AMA) will endorse three conservative Republicans to replace current House GOP leadership later on Monday, Breitbart News has learned.
The group will endorse Republican Reps. Jeb Hensarling of Texas, Jim Jordan of Ohio and Tom Price of Georgia to replace House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Whip Kevin McCarthy. AMA has been pushing the #FireBoehner hashtag on Twitter and encouraging people to stand up against the Speaker for abandoning conservatism.
