Election Jokes of the Week March 20, 2016

 photo Jester.png

I’m speaking with myself, number one, because I have a very good brain and I’ve said a lot of things.
~ Donald Trump on Morning Joe discussing his foreign policy consultant - himself

(Tuesday March 15 was a) Disappointing night for Bernie Sanders, which was a surprise; he was polling well among everyone's most annoying Facebook friends.
~ Jimmy Kimmel

I'd like to thank everyone for voting for me, and to everyone else for making your Facebook feed so so annoying! I mean, I love my supporters, but they're too much, right? I'm great, but I'm not five posts a day great. With all due respect to my supporters, get a life!
~ Larry David as Bernie Sanders on Saturday Night Live

Larry David/Bernie Sanders: Can I ask you something? What's a superdelegate? Who calls themselves that? It's so cocky! They walk around like they're such bigshots - Oooh, I beg your pardon, Mr. Superdelegate. Let me tell you something - I've met some of these superdelegates. They're not so super. Mediocre delegates is more like it.
Fake Jake Tapper: But Senator, many people believe you need these superdelegates.
Larry David/Bernie Sanders: Not true, not true. I have the voters. My message is resonating with a very diverse group of white people. And I've got supporters of all ages. 18 year olds, 19 year olds. Yeah, that's it. The young people love me, Tapper, because I'm like them. I got alot of big plans and absolutely no idea how to achieve them.
Fake Jake Tapper: You're still struggling with minorities. Why do you think you don't attract them?
Larry David/Bernie Sanders: Because I look like someone who at some point told them, 'Hey, get out of my store."

Ben Carson, Trump and Bernie Sanders Skit SNL

Donald and I are like night and day, ebony and orange-y. And sure, we've had our polite disagreements - I question his knowledge on health care, and he called me a psycho and a child-molester.
~ Fake Ben Carson on Saturday Night Live

Even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president, which I don't think is the case, I think he's going to surround himself with really good people. But even if he didn't, we're only looking at four years as opposed to multiple generations, and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever.
~ Unintentional joke from the real Dr. Ben Carson, ex-GOP candidate for President

It was reported yesterday that an op-ed written by Donald Trump seems to have been blatantly plagiarized from an article written by Dr. Ben Carson days before. People first became suspicious when Trump’s op-ed began, “As a black doctor…”
~ Seth Myers

DICKERSON: You once said that choosing between Trump and Cruz is like the difference between being shot or poisoned. So, how is your health?
GRAHAM: Well, you can -- maybe they will find an antidote to poisoning. It's hard once you're shot to get over it.
~ John Dickerson on CBS Face the Nation and Senator Lindsey Graham, March 20

The hacking group “Anonymous” has apparently declared war against Donald Trump. Of course, hacking him shouldn’t be hard, because if there's anyone who just uses their name as their password, it's Donald Trump.
~ Jimmy Fallon

And if Ted Cruz is right, if every single anti-Trump voter unites behind him, he could get enough delegates to be the nominee. Then the GOP establishment can say 'Goodbye, candidate we don't like! Hello, candidate we can't stand!'
~ Stephen Colbert

If Cruz can't do it, there's one other way to deny Trump the nomination: a 'brokered convention.' You see when a candidate wins a primary, he really wins delegates who are committed to him at the party convention. But only for the first ballot. So if Trump doesn't get 1,237 delegates in the first round of voting they're all free to vote for whoever. This is great news: the Republican campaign could start all over again, but this time it's crammed into one week. You can binge-watch the death of the GOP.
~ Stephen Colbert

Reopublicans don't like calling it a 'brokered convention.' They have a much nicer name - ('open convention'). I'm sorry, not 'brokered,' 'open,' Just like, 'Honey, we don't have a broken marriage, we have an open marriage. And I know we never discussed it, but it will spice things up to bring in an outsider. And I think we'll end up trusting each other even more. Stronger.'
~ Stephen Colbert

Thundersnow, Anonymous, and the KKK as Grand Jury Decision Looms in Ferguson, Missouri - With Updates

 photo bd838b4b-881b-48a3-8523-4edd57f1b330.jpg

Rumors are flying about when the Grand Jury decision may come down in the Ferguson, Missouri case, and whether there will ever be justice for Mike Brown, slain by cop Darren Wilson for no apparent reason.

After a Saturday of harsh winter weather in St. Louis, including thundersnow - an omen perhaps? - rumors flew that CNN was preparing to hear the decision on Sunday afternoon (today) but that has not been confirmed as of yet. Update: It didn't happen - just a rumor.

Bad Omen?

Today, protestors in Ferguson had a "Die In" on the street.

Last week was quite extraordinary, as Mike Brown's parents flew to Geneva, Switzerland to speak to the UN about their son's death.

Also last week the white mayor of Ferguson showed up in an NRA (National Rifle Association) hat as he spoke to reporters. Messaging?

The Governor of Missouri made a speech, talking about keeping people safe if there are riots after the decision is announced, including calling out the National Guard (again) if need be. Of course he isn't talking about keeping the protestors safe, since they have always been seen as the enemy.

Ferguson Police Chief, Tom Jackson, also had a press conference, saying he would reinstate killer Darren Wilson to his old job on the police force. Needless to say, that did not go over too well with the Ferguson protestors, or anyone with a brain.

Meanwhile, the hate group Ku Klux Klan announced that they were going to protect white people against the Ferguson protestors, which caused the internet group Anonymous to hack their websites and start looking into the identities of KKK members in St. Louis - to "dox" them, and release their Facebook pictures and other information. Some of the Klan members are apparently connected to law enforcement.

Members of a Missouri-based KKK chapter have been distributing fliers in the St. Louis metro area and on social media promising to use "lethal force" against Ferguson protesters they say have threatened police officers and their families.
In the flier, the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan refer to the protesters as "terrorists" masquerading as peaceful, and says that they have "awakened a sleeping giant."
"You have been warned by the Ku Klux Klan!" the flier exclaims. "There will be consequences for your acts of violence against the peaceful, law-abiding citizens of Missouri."

UPDATE: The KKK pushes back

Did the President of Bolivia Fly Away With Snowden?

USA Today ~ Possible Snowden Plane Rerouted
The plane carrying Bolivian President Evo Morales home from Russia was rerouted to Austria on Tuesday after France and Portugal refused to let it cross their airspace because of suspicions that NSA leaker Edward Snowden was on board, the country's foreign minister said.

Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca denied that Snowden was on the plane, which landed in Vienna, and said France and Portugal would have to explain why they canceled authorization for the plane.

"We don't know who invented this lie. We want to denounce to the international community this injustice with the plane of President Evo Morales," Choquehuanca said from La Paz. Morales had earlier met with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a summit of major gas exporters in the Kremlin.

. . . "This is a hostile act by the United States State Department which has used various European governments," said Bolivian Defense Minister Ruben Saavedra, who was on the flight.

Is the Mysterious "Jester" Targeting Snowden and Assange?

From Mother Jones
A shadowy, self-described "patriot" hacktivist has launched a series of cyberattacks against Ecuador and says he plans to direct a similar onslaught against any country considering granting asylum to former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden. The hacker, who calls himself the "th3J35t3r" (the Jester) and in the past has identified himself as a former soldier, has also taken aim at Julian Assange. The WikiLeaks founder has been assisting Snowden in his efforts to seek safe haven.

. . . In a June 26 blog post, the Jester writes that Snowden "is not a goddam hero, here to save Americans from 'the government' because of privacy infringements and breaches of the 4th amendment, he is a traitor and has jeopardized all our lives." He launched a similar tirade against Assange, who has been living in London's Ecuadorean Embassy for more than a year to dodge extradition, writing, "[L]et's not forget Assange isn't seeking asylum because he's some heroic whistleblower or do-gooder. He's wanted for questioning on a rape charge."

. . . the Jester alluded to hacking into the embassy's fire alarm system to force Assange out of the building. If Assange were to leave the embassy compound, he would face extradition to Sweden—where he's under investigation for sexual assault—or potentially to the United States, where Assange fears he could be prosecuted in connection with the publication of classified information allegedly leaked by Bradley Manning.

Yesterday the Jester tweeted photos of what he believed to be fire alarms on the exterior of the Ecuadorean Embassy,
