#GOP Heads Explode On Election Night as Cuccinelli Loses, Christie Wins

Democrat Terry McAuliffe edged out Virginia attorney general Ken Cuccinelli in the race to be the state’s next governor on Tuesday, riding a significant financial advantage and voter distaste over the Republican’s staunchly conservative stances on social issues to victory in the key swing state.
The contest was close late into Tuesday night after polls had indicated McAuliffe, a former Democratic National Committee chairman and close Clinton confidante, could win by high single digits. But with 96% of precincts reporting, McAuliffe led Cuccinelli 47.1% to 46.3%, and the Associated Press called the race for McAuliffe at about 10 p.m. E.T. A third candidate, libertarian Robert Sarvis, ended up winning a critical 6.7%.
It’s the first time the party occupying the White House has won the state’s off-year gubernatorial election since 1973.

The Republican Governors Association took umbrage Wednesday at anonymous griping that it abandoned Ken Cuccinelli’s gubernatorial bid, highlighting the $8.5 million it spent to help the Republican state attorney general against Democrat Terry McAuliffe.
The tit-for-tat played out a day after Cuccinelli lost by less than three percentage points, a margin that was much narrower than expected and triggered second-guessing and finger-pointing about what might have been.

(The Cuccinelli Campaign in Virginia) begged Christie, and you can make an argument that to bring a Chris Christie to Northern Virginia might have helped. But Chris Christie is worried about his own brand.

Christie's current brand might endear him to the Morning Joe bubble-boys, but they will turn on him, just as they did Romney, the moment he is a threat to a Democrat's quest for the Oval Office. In a presidential campaign, in both the primary and general elections, Christie needs the base to stand in long lines for him.
That is the brand Christie needs to worry about.
Had Christie taken just a half-day to stump for Cuccinelli, not only would that have helped wash the Sandy stain away; it might have actually made him a hero to the base for both defying the Morning Joe crowd and helping to drag Cuccinelli over the finish line.

No more Money for RNC

Open letter to the RNC- Sirs, I am not and have never been a member of the Tea Party. That said, I respectfully inform you that you can no longer count on my financial support and no longer will I man the phone bank as I have in the past. For the RNC to abandon Cooch, even though he was the duly elected nominee, was low down. I see no difference between the Rep. "establishment" and the Dems. It was fun while it lasted. Good luck.

What if?

If there had been late spending for Cuccinelli, or if there hadn't been a government shutdown, right, which is not Ken Cuccinelli's fault, if there hadn't been, you think of the Northern Virginia vote, where there are a huge number of huge number of government workers in Northern Virginia, where Terry McAuliffe found his margin of victory.
If there hadn't been for the shutdown, Ken Cuccinelli might have won this race also for all of his problems, a little bit more money, and a little bit less government shutdown, you might be looking at Ken Cuccinelli as bad as he was, and as out of step with so much of Virginia, he probably would be in the statehouse.

Denial, Carpetbaggers, Scary Blacks and Voter Fraud

Virginia is not liberal; NORTHERN Virginia is. Arlington, Fairfax and Prince William Counties alone gave McAuliffe the nod by a margin of 107,000; STATEWIDE, it was only 55,000. Most of these hacks only reside there due to the fact that they are part of the "political-industrial complex." Bigger government, whether it be state or federal, gives these hacks (so they think) more job security. Apparently, it's a bunch of transplants, as opposed to native Virginians, who now decide the future of the Old Dominion. Thomas Jefferson would be rolling over (and vomiting) in his grave.

The Virginia gubernatorial race should have been a landslide for democrats. They outspent by wide margins. They were so desperate that they had to cheat to win. They had to revert to sleazy tactics, unable to honorably win on the issues. Democrats recently had a gargantuan lead, and they lost it, largely because of Obamacare.

President's Vacation.
This year the Obamas are heading for Martha's Vineyard.
Representative Chris Stewart of Utah called it "tone deaf" claiming
"most of the people in my district could never afford
to visit Martha's Vineyard,
a place that has the reputation of being for the Elite."
That's right - when the President isn't a "Thug," he's a "Snob."

“Why would the president do this for the cameras? It’s one thing to take a vacation but is this pose shoving it down the throats of the American people?” she asked. “Many are out of work. They can’t afford to spend the day working on their golf game in one of the most expensive places to vacation. Is this what leadership looks like?”

Van Susteren was joined by former Congressman Allen West, R-Fla., who agreed that the photo was “bad optics” for a leader.

“Greta, let me tell you something,” West said. “It’s like 133 degrees in Southern Afghanistan and guys have on all of their gear, helmets and what have you. They don’t get to take a five-week vacation.”

. . . Just this last couple of weeks - You stood up when freedom was under assault and you stood in the gap, you made a difference. I hear this when I travel around the country all the time. 'Rick, this country's changing, things are happening, what can we do?'

Imagine this small minority, and that's what they are, and the big change they've been able to make by taking over popular culture and the media and the educational establishment in particular, colleges and universities. They've gone and infiltrated all these elite institutions.
And they try to tell you how 'wrong' you are, how perverted your idea of America is when you stand for the truth, you stand for tradition, you stand for what this country has been to the world which is a beacon of hope.
Do not let them convince you it is lost! Do not let them convince you to be afraid!
Do not let them force you to cower!
Stand for America! Fight for America!
And we will get America back!!!

We've had the establishment pick another loser for us. The fight we have, and the fight I want you to engage in, is the establishment against the grassroots. The establishment has given us a whole series of losers. Bob Dole and John McCain. Mitt Romney.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) spoke at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday, bringing a candle and a lightbulb as props.
"[Politicians in Washington are] all trapped in the age of candles," Gingrich said.
Gingrich, who hasn't been shy about criticizing Republicans before, offered up more negative commentary about his own party during his speech.
"We have the dominant wing of this party that has learned nothing," Gingrich said.

At CPAC, Bachmann is truly in her element, and she worked the crowd like a red-meat slinging virtuoso -- a contrast to her often halting and hesitant performances in the 2012 primary campaign. Bachmann very effortlessly shifted from the Benghazi outrage, to touch briefly on the effort to curb gun violence, to Obamacare's "war on the young" to a criticism of sequester politics.

The morning was full of how to take America back, but mostly the speechifiers were surprisingly quasi-sorta reasonable, with much in the way of hollow but appreciated gestures suggesting that hey, evil liberal democrats are people too, sort of, and we should maybe all maybe work together sometimes, to do something good for the country. All this was noticeably strange, considering they were all there as part of the the run up to the CPAC crowd favorite, and our favorite frumious bandersnatch ever, Sarah Palin.
. . . but the amazing thing was, she read her Obama teleprompter joke FROM A TELEPROMPTER.

While delivering her speech at CPAC, Sarah Palin drank from a big gulp. This was appropriate because just like her jumbo soda, her twenty minute speech was filled with empty calories.

She told fellow conservatives not to get lost in abstract debates and green-eye-shade accounting. Mrs. Thatcher advised conservatives to focus their concerns first and foremost on the people. She said, look at every problem from the grassroots, not from the top down. She also cautioned Conservatives not to go wobbly on their beliefs, to which I offer a hearty Amen Sistah! We can use a leader like Maggie Thatcher today.

. . . Is there any wonder there was such a run on guns and ammo for Christmas presents, considering the attack on the Second Amendment? A couple of months ago – oh you should have seen what Todd got me for Christmas. Well, it wasn’t that exciting. It’s a metal rack, a case for hunting rifles to put on the back of a Four-Wheeler, then though, I had to get something for him to put in the gun case, right? So this go-round, he got the rifle, I got the rack. (big applause and she pulls out her Big Gulp and takes a sip till the crowd calms down.)

. . . If we truly believe the words of our other founding document, The Declaration of Independence, that yes all men are created equal, then there are no Hispanic issues or African American issues or women’s issues. There are only American issues.

. . . It’s time we all stopped preaching to the choir and let’s grow. America already has one party that’s expert at pitting groups against one another. We’ll never win a contest of identity politics. We shouldn’t even try.

For 100 years, the left and government have made it their mission to have a government program to address almost every pain. As their allies in education deny truth so there is no wrong and therefore nothing to worry about, and their allies in Hollywood and the media promote a culture of titillation and violence that numbs our senses in an attempt to please us — all of this has resultsed in an epidemic of psychological, moral, and spiritual pain and suffering.
Objectively speaking, thanks to technology and the dynamics of our economy, a low income American has creature comforts that would exceed the wealthiest of Americans 100 years ago. “Torch of liberty” scion Rand Paul was the choice of the plurality of conservatives at the Conservative Political Action Conference, as Paul won the much-hyped straw poll with 25 percent. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio was a close second with 23 percent.
. . . Rick Santorum finished a distant third with 8 percent. Popular New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was not invited to CPAC, finished fourth with 7 percent; Paul Ryan, the 2012 vice-presidential candidate was next at 6 percent; then Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker 5 percent; neurosurgeon Ben Carson and keynoter Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, tied at 4 percent; followed by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and ex-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin percent.
Forty-four others, including write-in votes for Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, and Allen West, got 14 percent.

What's going on in this country is unbelievable. Our country is a total mess, a total and complete mess, and what we need is leadership.

That's their answer to criminal violence? Criminalize 100 million law-abiding gun owners in a private transfer? Build a list of all the good people? As if that would somehow make us safe from violent criminals and homicidal maniacs?
That's their answer? Are they insane?
What's the point of registering lawful gun-owners anyway—so newspapers can print those names and addresses for gangs and criminals to access? You know that's happened before! So the list can be hacked by foreign enemies like the Chinese, who recently hacked Pentagon computers? So the list can be handed over to the Mexican government that, oh by the way, they've already requested that list from our government? In the end there are only two reasons for the government to create that list of registered gun owners: to tax them, or to take them.

The tea-party sponsored a panel called “Trump The Race Card: Are You Sick And Tired Of Being Called A Racist When You Know You’re Not One?”
The short answer was provided by this panel, which was run by KCarl Smith, an African American father and grandfather who started the ConservativeMESSENGER in 2009 and who has appeared on the “700 Club” and the “Huckabee Show.”

. . . Frederick Douglass is the key to appealing to “blacks, Latinos, women, young people.” How?
He offers the “answer to the diversity inclusion problem, a way to defeat vile and malicious attacks of the left’s propaganda machine. They call us a racist, we back up…. They want to humiliate us. They want to intimidate us.”

(At this point a man comes in dressed as a revolutionary soldier carrying a giant yellow “Don’t Tread on Me” flag.)

“The word conservative,” Smith explains, “the word ‘Republican,’ the word ‘U.S. Constitution,’ those words have a negative connotation in this country. We’re losing the propaganda battle. You might as well call yourself a racist. Say ‘Frederick Douglass Republican.’ It piques interest. Those who frame the debate win the debate.”
He explains that Douglass was “born below poverty. When you’re born into poverty at least you own your own body.”
Douglass, Smith notes, never slept in a bed until the age of 10. He escaped from slavery at the age of 20. What does that mean?

“Slavemaster-run health care,” Smith says. “Slavemaster entitlements. Douglass was a 47 percenter. Slavemasters were Democrats.”

. . . an audience member from North Carolina, 30-year-old Scott Terry, asked whether Republicans could endorse races remaining separate but equal. After the presenter, K. Carl Smith of Frederick Douglass Republicans, answered by referencing a letter by Frederick Douglass forgiving his former master, the audience member said “For what? For feeding him and housing him?” Several people in the audience cheered and applauded Terry’s outburst.

After the exchange, Terry muttered under his breath, “why can’t we just have segregation?”
ThinkProgress spoke with Terry, who sported a Rick Santorum sticker and attended CPAC with a friend who wore a Confederate Flag-emblazoned t-shirt, about his views after the panel. Terry maintained that white people have been “systematically disenfranchised” by federal legislation.

When asked by ThinkProgress if he’d accept a society where African-Americans were permanently subservient to whites, he said “I’d be fine with that.” He also claimed that African-Americans “should be allowed to vote in Africa,” and that “all the Tea Parties” were concerned with the same racial problems that he was.

At one point, a woman challenged him on the Republican Party’s roots, to which Terry responded, “I didn’t know the legacy of the Republican Party included women correcting men in public.”

He claimed to be a direct descendent of Confederate President Jefferson Davis.

“Martin Luther King was a Marxist!”... “SHUT UP!”... Suffice it to say, there was plenty of screaming until Smith wrangled a microphone and calmed everybody down. Audience members, still piqued, reached the consensus that Brown and Terry were both plants paid by George Soros. “Was that the liberal media?” one elderly woman asked another. “This event ... has been ruined,” said another.

You begin to wonder whether you'll buy Coke in the future, you go on local TV and you show the cool rat head. Coca-Cola has a very large problem worldwide. It damages the brand. Republican elected officials who vote for tax increases are rat heads in the Coke bottle. They damage the brand for everybody else.

Now in order to work together with people that you disagree with, there has to be mutual respect. That means I respect people that disagree with me on certain things, but they have to respect me too.

I'm trying to understand how come there's no black people here. I'm trying to figure out why the outreach of the GOP and especially CPAC is not working with black citizens and I have yet to find an answer, only I get, all I've gotten is abrasive attitudes and people yelling because I guess I ask the tough question, just ask the simple question, where's the inclusion?
