Hillary was on fire in the South Carolina Primary, getting the majority of Democratic votes in every single county, much to the chagrin of Bernie Sanders and his followers. Originally it was thought that Bernie at least did better with Caucasion folks, but Hillary took away that demographic, too.

And she gave one of the most inspirational speeches of her entire career - must watch! She vowed that "Tomorrow this campaign goes national" as she sails into Super Tuesday in a good place to win big in many states.

Trump Triumphant So Far

Donald Trump can't get over himself, and his followers apparently can't get enough of him either. In spite of hopes from both Dems and Republicans that Trump would get tired of parading around as American's next white hope, he has become the nearly undisputed GOP front runner in the Republican Primary for President of the United States. He won the South Carolina Primary last Tuesday, and easily scooped another win in Nevada.

Meanwhile, little Marco Rubio keeps insisting that his second or third place ties with Ted Cruz are actually wins, and that the longer he stays in the race, the more likely he is to accidentally win something. Or something.

Cruz is just crestfallen that his God has forgotten to anoint him King of Merica yet.

Kasich is hanging on by a slim thread of who-knows-what, and doing embarrassing non-Moderate things like banning funding for Planned Parenthood in Ohio, and saying that women "left the kitchen" to vote for him in SC.

Rebublicans and Fox News are starting to panic at what a train-wreck their Primary Convention is going to be, with low-spending rogue Trump slamming everybody - especially the media - while praising himself to the skies.

No matter how horrible Trump is, they love him. Super Tuesday is looming on March 1st and he's expected to walk away with it. And the world watches in horror.

However, let's remember that this is the Primary Season, and in order to win Trump has had to be vicious towards minorities, immigrants and women (not that he minds) and has even attacked the Pope, and they still vote for him. But the fact is, once we pivot to a contest between Trump and Hillary, he just can't win anymore. He will never get the vote from minority groups, LGBT, women, and mainstream liberals. Oh, some ex-Bernie Libertarians may join him since they have vowed to never vote for Hillary, but the rest of us will just need to show up and vote against him, end of story.

Jeb Bush and the Big Gun Meme

 photo 8f515288-d3d0-4ed9-a768-aad631eeb234.jpg

I'm sure Jeb Bush thought it would help his failing primary campaign to pander to gun nuts in South Carolina and Nevada when he posted a tweet of a big gun with his name stamped on it in gold letters and the word "America."

And the Twitterverse plus news media gave him what he deserved for such a tone-deaf and ridiculous tweet. What was he expecting? Why would any real Presidential Candidate want the world to think of America as one big gun fight, even if that is the GOP-Doomsday Prepper-Sovereign Citizen-NRA fantasy?

Original Post on Flag Debate in House

After some crazy debate in the South Carolina Legislature until one in the morning, with impassioned speeches from both Republicans and Democrats, the House finally agreed to pass the clean Senate Bill to take down the Confederate Flag on the statehouse lawn by Friday.

Today, Governor Nikki Haley signed the bill into law, and tomorrow morning both the flag and the pole are coming down!

Confederate Flag Lowered by Activists in South Carolina

 photo Confederate-BreeNewsome.png

Activist Bree Newsome climbed the flagpole in front of the South Carolina State Capitol building in Columbia on Saturday and took down the Confederate Flag. Both Newsome and fellow activist James Tyson, who waited at the bottom of the flagpole, were arrested, leading to twitter hashtags #FreeBree and #FreeJames.

With this act of Civil Disobedience, Bree Newsome has become a legend now, and the image of her climb to take down the flag has traveled around the world via social media.

From The State
Activists calling themselves “concerned citizens” said in a news release that they removed the flag about 5:30 a.m. Saturday. A woman identified by the group as “Bree” climbed the pole and pulled the flag down, the group said.
“Deciding to do what the SC Legislature has thus far neglected to do, the group took down the symbol of white supremacy that inspired the massacre, continued to fly at full mast in defiance of South Carolina’s grief, and flew in defiance of everyone working to actualize a more equitable Carolinian future,” the group said in a news release distributed to the media about 6:30 a.m.
The state Bureau of Protective Services confirmed it had arrested two people at the State House about 6:15 a.m. Those arrested were Brittany Ann Byuarim Newsome, a 30-year-old Raleigh resident, and James Ian Tyson, a 30-year-old Charlotte resident, the protective services bureau said.
They are charged with defacing state property, a misdemeanor that carries penalties of up to three years in prison or a fine of up to $5,000 or both.
Newsome was loudly reciting the 23rd Psalm as she was being arrested.

Many were dismayed that the flag was immediately raised again, possibly because there was to be a pro-Confederate rally held later in the day.

Lovers of the Confederate Flag are losing their minds over the recent push to rid our country of the symbol of hate.

In a conversation with black pundit Juan Williams, Bill O'Reilly insisted the flag represents "bravery" not hate.
Transcript Via Media Matters

O'REILLY: That's a positive and I just -- got to go. You say the Confederate flag is a symbol of hate and you believe that.

JUAN WILLIAMS: That's the way I feel when I see it.

O'REILLY: Okay, okay. And absolutely 100 percent legitimate. For some other people who see it in a historical context --

WILLIAMS: What's the historical context?

O'REILLY: It represents bravery.

WILLIAMS: Oh get out of town.

O'REILLY: In war.

WILLIAMS: They put it up in anger when they were trying to mass resist the Civil Rights Movement in the 60's.

O'REILLY: You know as well as I do that it represents, to some, bravery in the Civil War because the Confederates fought hard.
But that's what it represents. You're right historically, but in their minds, that's what it represents. And in your mind it represents hate. So, and everybody should know what the two sides are believing.

O'Reilly also went nuts on a guest over Racism:

Bill O'Reilly argued that racism is not an "epidemic" in America.

"I’m saying that the world is being told by anti-American haters that we are a rank, racist society, and that is a lie," O'Reilly told Powers during the segment.

After O'Reilly turned to another guest on his show, he accused Powers of "snorting" while the guest was making a point. Powers balked at the accusation, and the two quickly began debating racism again.

While arguing over whether everyone in the U.S. acknowledges the legacy of slavery in the U.S., Powers told O’Reilly, "There are actually a lot of people in this country who are racist."

The debate then took a turn for the worse.

"I have to wonder about why you can’t see what’s happening, because most Americans are not racist," O'Reilly said. "They’re not!"

"Really? So how many black friends do you have?" Powers asked. "How many black friends do you have?"

O'Reilly did not appear to be pleased with Powers' question and said, "If you think most Americans are racist, I’m ashamed of you."

Fox News Hatemonger Todd Starnes wrings his hands and worries if the politically correct flag-haters will become Confederate grave robbers.

Conspiracy-Monger, Alex Jones says because some Democrats turned into "Dixiecrats" after the Civil Rights Movement, then we ought to ban the Democratic Party. Um, but the Dixiecrats turned into the Republicans who turned into the Tea Party, so . . . But he was echoed by Fox News Derp-Mistress Andrea Tantaros.

Not really, Andrea, because History.

Breitbart decided to attack The Gay Rainbow Flag, which as we know flies over every statehouse in the south. Oh wait ...

Then there's Ann Coulter who sounds more and more like Dylann Roof's wicked stepmother in her push to "white up" 'Merica.

Even the The Blaze pointed out Coulter's mistake:

Conservative pundit Bill Kristol became so hyperbolic on Twitter that people wondered if his account was a parody. In a series of nearly hysterical tweets, he compared taking down the Confederate Flag to the French Revolution, as if the guillotines were being set up outside the SC Statehouse. And probably, he should be glad this isn't really a Revolution.

But Kristol is hardly alone. The hysteria was building yesterday as retailers dropped Confederate Flags from their merchandising.

One after another, retailers and flag makers are letting go of Confederate flag merchandise!

The list keeps getting longer: Walmart, Sears (which also owns Kmart), Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, and Target. And it isn't just the big box stores, but smaller venues like Spencer's Gifts, as well as flag-making companies that supply gift shops.

From Huffington Post
Amazon joined a growing group of retailers that plan to take Confederate flags off their shelves. On Monday, Walmart and Sears vowed to remove the banners and related items from their stores. Earlier on Tuesday, eBay banned Confederate flag paraphernalia from its website. So, too, did the online marketplace Etsy, known for its homemade crafts, which said it planned to remove all Confederate flag items from its site.

From Time
The announcements echoed those made on Monday by Sears and Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer. “We never want to offend anyone with the products that we offer,” Walmart explained in a statement.
Smaller retailers also seem to be taking cues from the giant merchants. Etsy, an online marketplace for handcrafted and vintage items, said it would no longer allow the sale of Confederate flag-themed, saying, “Etsy’s policies prohibit items or listings that promote, support or glorify hatred and these items fall squarely into that category.” Zazzle, a retailer where buyers can design their own custom merchandise, also pledged to remove Confederate flag designs within the next 24 hours, saying the flag “has clearly evolved into a symbol of discrimination and divisiveness.”
Gift retailer Spencer’s—whose website previously featured aviator sunglasses, flasks, knee high socks, cowboy hats, tank top dresses and tank tops all featuring the Confederate flag—has done similarly. “In light of the terrible event in South Carolina this past week and having the opportunity to hear from many of our Guests and associates,” Spencer’s said in a statement on Tuesday, “we have decided that we can no longer offer for sale a symbol that is viewed as divisive and not consistent with our culture and goal to make every Spencer’s store welcome to all people.”

Pressure Builds for South Carolina to Take Down the Confederate Flag ~ Update: Nikki Haley Presser

In the sad wake of the Charleston deaths at the hand of racist Dylann Roof, Twitter exploded over the weekend with calls for Governor Nikki Haley and the South Carolina House of Representatives to move quickly and take down the emblem of hate, the Confederate Flag, standing just outside the State House in Columbia.

From CNN
. . . while U.S. flags have been lowered, the Confederate battle flag remains high -- even padlocked into place.
Why?
It is a matter of state law.
Back in 2000, civil rights activists successfully lobbied to have a much larger Confederate flag removed from the Capitol dome. But there was a compromise. The South Carolina Heritage Act decreed that just about all other tributes to Confederate history would be virtually untouchable. The only way to change anything of that nature -- including the smaller flag that was erected on the State House lawn -- would be to gain the endorsement of two-thirds of lawmakers.

Update: Monday, June 22, 2015

Word is spreading that Governor Nikki Haley will announce at 4 p.m. that the flag will come down.
