Speaker of the House John Boehner resigned after the Pope visited Washington and the result has been utter chaos among Republicans. The heir-apparent to Boehner was supposed to be Kevin McCarthy, but he made the mistake of being really honest (a rarity in Congress) and admitted they targeted Hillary Clinton with the Benghazi Committee:















Also a smear campaign was happening on social media saying he committed adultery with married Congresswoman Renee Ellmers of North Carolina.




Last week McCarthy realized he didn't have the votes to become Speaker and decided to pull his name in a surprise announcement. Congress and the beltway press were shocked! SHOCKED!

Then in a complete show of madness, people started asking Paul Ryan to step up and become Speaker. In response, he acted as though they had tossed him a radioactive hand grenade. He said he would think about it over the weekend - we'll see what Monday brings.

Yet another had similar thoughts, though the aide simply sent Business Insider the emoticon commonly referred to as a "shruggie," that signals a shrug: "¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
"Thunderdome," Erick Erickson, a prominent conservative activist and the editor in chief of the site RedState, told Business Insider.

Currently, a small faction of Tea Party extremists in Congress is wreaking havoc and chaos at every possible turn. These 40 republican politicians, all members of the House Freedom Caucus, have decided to hold their fellow Republicans, and likely the entire country, hostage to their fanatical demands. Every seemingly-sane member of Congress has been targeted by these far-right nuts, who have absolutely no clue how to govern.
This is the group that orchestrated the resignation of House Speaker John Boehner. They went after Republican colleagues, Renee Ellmers and Kevin McCarthy, when it looked as if McCarthy had a good chance of becoming the next speaker.
Sane conservatives, scrambling to save the party from a now inevitable implosion, have been begging Paul Ryan to put in a bid for speaker. Although Ryan has repeatedly said that he is not going to run, far right extremists are now attacking him, apparently just for being mentioned as a possibility.

The day after the Pope visited Congress, John Boehner turned in his resignation as Speaker of the House. And he suddenly looked like a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders, striding in to his press conference singing "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah."

What happens now? The far-right conservative jackals such as Ted Cruz are thrilled because they have called Boehner a "traitor" and "RINO" for making deals with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. But let's see if the monstrous Tea Party can do any better without Boehner to kick around anymore. Probably not.

Boehner had wanted to end his run last year, but was concerned about destabilizing the House Republican caucus. He was ready to announce his resignation on his birthday this November. But Friday, one day after the emotional, historic visit by Pope Francis to Capitol Hill, Boehner found his moment.
"I decided today is the day I'm going to do this, simple as that," Boehner said at a Capitol Hill press conference, saying his decision came after a night of sleep and prayers.
. . . The timing may have been right for Boehner -- but it stunned the House GOP Conference Friday morning, which had been meeting to discuss a way forward on funding legislation. Boehner made the announcement -- and choked up. Others did too.
"A lot of grown men and women were crying, especially those who know him the most," said Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-New York.

Of course Boehner couldn’t last: He’s an adult. And as Donald Trump’s perverse currency and a Republican nominating contest that’s often indistinguishable from a temper tantrum demonstrate, the qualities of maturity, steadiness and prudence aren’t in especially big favor right now with an animated, engaged and frighteningly influential segment of the Republican electorate.
. . . “He’s somebody who understands that in government — in governance — you don’t get 100 percent of what you want,” President Obama said on Friday at the White House, reflecting on the fresh news that Boehner was leaving. “But you have to work with people who you disagree with, sometimes strongly, in order to do the people’s business.” Obama and Boehner were hardly a study in “Kumbaya” cooperation, but Obama seemed to sense that the song sung by whoever follows Boehner will be sourer and more strident.

A fired-up House Ethics Committee Chairman Charlie Dent (R-Pa.), speaking not long after Boehner dropped the bombshell at a Friday conference meeting that he’ll leave Congress at the end of next month, ripped into hard-line conservatives.
He accused them of opposing Boehner at every turn, and noted they have “never had a horse of their own.”
“Any jackass can kick down a barn door. It takes a carpenter to hang one. We need a few more carpenters around here. Everybody knows it,” Dent said off the House floor.
Leadership allies are frustrated by what they see as a repeated exercise in futility.
They argue that the lawmakers who repeatedly tangled with Boehner aren’t team players, and they said a new leadership team shouldn’t cater to them.

Now that the Supremes have upheld Obamacare twice - today and in 2012 - the same people on the far right still want to blame Chief Justice Roberts for being a traitor to their cause. Never mind how frivolous these lawsuits are, or how many people would suffer if Obamacare was taken away.

The GOP just doesn't want to admit defeat, so they scream, kick, and snarl about Justice Roberts and how "unfair" it is that he upheld a legally passed law giving health care for millions.

Between this ruling on Obamacare and the fact that Confederate Flags are coming down all over the South, this hasn't been a happy week for the Tea Party and their minions. They are all about the butthurt and tears of impotent rage. After they get these Supreme Court Tantrums out of their systems, they can either take a nap or go to the happy chair in the corner.

Lindsey Graham promises "Rotating First Lady"

Senator Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, will surely never be President, but just in case, the unmarried candidate for the GOP nomination is heading off speculation about his hypothetical First Lady.

What will bachelor Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., do if he’s elected president in 2016 without a first lady?

“I've got a lot of friends,” the Republican presidential hopeful joked in an exclusive interview with the UK news outlet Daily Mail Online.

“We'll have a rotating first lady.”

It’s the first time the war hawkish South Carolina senator acknowledged his marital status since he began contemplating a run for the White House in 2016.

Oh, but wait - he also has a sister! She can be first lady!

Republican presidential contender Lindsey Graham, a lifelong bachelor, has come up with a plan for how to fill the role of first lady should he take up residence at the White House.

"Well, I've got a sister, she could play that role if necessary"

. . . Graham announced his candidacy in Central, South Carolina, on June 1. His sister, Darline Graham Nordone, was there to introduce him.

Nordone has previously said she's occupied with her immediate family and her job as a public information director for the state's Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, so it's unclear what role she could take up in a Graham presidency, CNN reported.

Many have speculated over the years that Lindsey Graham is actually gay and in the good-old Southern church-going Tea Party - courting closet. But he certainly won't "come out" during a Presidential run, lest the South Carolina Evangelicals refuse to vote for him in the primaries. Indeed, he sought to reassure his conservative voters that though he is unmarried, he is not "defective" - a dog whistle for gay, perhaps. In fact, he almost married one of them-thar wimmens, so he's macho, y'all.

Sen. Lindsey Graham says he’s not “defective” because he’s single. While he’s “been close once” to marrying a woman, he’s unsure why he never did so. And he said that if voters want a John F. Kennedy-esque clan in the White House, they should look elsewhere.
“If you are looking for Camelot, I’m not your guy,” Graham said in an interview. “If you’re looking for glitz and glamour, I’m probably the worst choice in the bunch. If you are looking for a determined person to be president, I think I can fill that bill.”
. . . “I’ve been close once early on, [as I was] taking care of my sister,” Graham said when asked why he never married. “It’s something I really don’t know the answer to, other than I think it’s OK. At the end of the day, there’s nothing wrong about not being married. Having a marriage and a good family and children is a blessing. But I don’t think I’m a defective person by any means.”

Soon the crazy spread to other politicians, as Senator Mark Kirk, R-Illinois, said this:

“Did you see that? He’s going to have a rotating first lady. He’s a bro with no ho.”
After emerging from a meeting in the office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), the usually outspoken Kirk was mostly mum about what he’d said about Graham, a longtime bachelor with White House ambitions.
“No. No, comment,” Kirk said. Asked if he regretted the comment, Kirk responded: “I do.”

His old bromantic friend John McCain chimed in:

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Graham’s best friend in the Senate, offered this assessment: “I know he’s dated some attractive women from time to time, but I’ve never seen him get real serious.”
McCain added with a big laugh: “I’ve often told Lindsey that he couldn’t find anybody that loves him as much as he does.”

TLC Network's Popular Duggar Family Has An Incest Problem

The Duggar family of Arkansas is famous for having 19 children and a reality TV show on The Learning Channel (TLC). Having loads of babies is their contribution to the "Quiverfull Movement," a cultish form of conservative faux Christianity in which women are baby-makers who must produce a "Quiver-full" of children for the Lord.

...Psalm 127 states: “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.” A quiver, in the old English sense of the word, is a case for holding arrows.

The father of the clan, Jim Bob, ran for U.S. Senate in 2002 and failed, but his stair-step family caught the eye of an AP reporter and made them famous.

The photo led to a a special about having babies on the Discovery Health Channel called "14 Children and Pregnant Again," then eventually to the TLC show. In 2004, mother Michelle Duggar was awarded "Mother of the Year" from Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who remains their staunchest supporter.

It also began a GOP tradition of using the Duggars as a way to suck up to the Tea Party. Son Josh has been especially popular with the GOP-for-President crowd as they lined up for photo-ops.

But now it turns out that the same year the Duggars were "discovered" by Discover/TLC, oldest son Josh Duggar started having some problems. It seems he liked to "visit" the beds of his little sisters - 4 of them - for some recreational sex play, and even snuggled with one child who was a family friend. He was 15 years old and the girls were ten years younger, which even shocked his clueless parents, who took time out from procreating to deal with him, but they failed miserably.

...Instead of reporting the abuse, Duggar concealed his son’s offenses for about a year, when Josh was again caught with his hand in places it should not have been. In March of 2003, Josh was accused of fondling “several” minors, “often when they slept, but at times when they were awake.”
Instead of reporting the abuse through official channels Jim Bob, who once ran for Senate on a platform that called for the executions of rapists and those who indulge in incest, lied to a friend who was a state trooper. Jim-Bob and Josh told Joseph Hutchens that the abuse occurred once, through the clothing, leading Hutchens to give the younger Duggar a “stern talk” rather than report the incident through official channels.
Hutchens is currently serving a 56-year prison sentence for possession and distribution of child pornography.

Jim Bob...told the police that he had sent Josh to perform manual labor, which turns out to be helping a friend remodel a building. Because physical exertion is such a well known cure for sexual predators, right? Jim Bob also said Josh had received counseling, but his wife Michelle told police that counseling had not actually occurred.
. . . in 2007, Josh Duggar sued the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services, which had a continuing obligation to protect minor girls, and the case went to trial. We don’t know what the lawsuit was about or who won the trial. My educated guess would be that conditions were placed on Josh regarding his interactions with his sisters, which he wanted lifted.
. . . I’ve read the entire police report, and it’s replete with Duggar family efforts to protect Josh. What’s missing is empathy for the victims, any mention of counseling for them, or efforts to protect them. Child sexual abuse can have devastating, lifelong impact. The Duggar family’s statement to police that the victims had “forgiven” Josh raises uncomfortable questions: were they pressured by the family to sweep this under the rug?

Josh Duggar issued this statement of alleged "remorse":
Twelve years ago, as a young teenager I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life. I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.

Redemption? Where is the proof of that? Also there has been no proof shown that the girls involved received any counseling about what they suffered. However, some of the girls did write a book called "Growing Up Duggar" that gives certain insights into their situation.

The girls write about a "chain of command" in the family that follows birth order (with Josh being the eldest):
"The system is for when an older child encourages a younger child to do what is right or not do what is wrong, and the younger child is expected to listen … their older siblings are their elders and they should treat them as such … Josiah can ask James to stop whistling in the car, and he needs to stop."
Given their patriarchal family structure and this "chain of command," one can only speculate what the girls were thinking when their eldest brother was touching them. While Josh's offenses took place in 2002-2003, the girls weren't interviewed by police until December 2006, but charges were not filed because the three-year statute of limitation had run out. What — or who — kept the girls silent?

And . . .

They add:
"The choice to forgive doesn't always free the other person from the consequences of his or her wrong actions, but it frees the forgiver of negative feelings towards the offender. And if we still have feelings of bitterness, the Bible says it's not only to forgive the other person, but also to go a step further and look for ways to bless him or her."
Their message is strong, but vague.



Each day since this story broke there have been more disturbing details.
  • In 2006, The Oprah Winfrey Show cancelled an appearance by the family due to the incest rumors.
  • In May 2007, more allegations appeared in a comment on a blog about the Duggars.
  • In 2008, Josh Duggar made an incest joke concerning his siblings during an interview!
    In the clip, he says he needs someone to “chaperone” a date with his now-wife Anna. Since it was a rated-R movie, younger sister Jinger couldn’t come — and instead twins Jana and John-David ...stepped in.
    “So we chose Jana and John-David,” he says in the cringe-worthy clip. “We thought, ‘Why not have a double date?’ We are from Arkansas!”

  • Last week, Duggar family and GOP Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee spoke out in support of Josh Duggar.
  • A few days later, a Judge appointed by Huckabee when he was Governor of Arkansas ordered that the police report about the case should be destroyed. Luckily many media outlets already had copies of the report.
    . . . Springdale Police spokesman Scott Lewis said Judge Stacey Zimmerman ordered the 2006 offense report destroyed Thursday. Zimmerman didn't return a request for comment Friday.
    "The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record," Lewis said, adding that similar records are typically kept indefinitely. "As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesn't exist."
    Neither Duggar nor his father, a former state representative, returned calls seeking comment Friday.
  • The wife of a pastor in another "Quiverfull" family called the molestation "Playing Doctor," according to Raw Story
    “When I was a kid, it was often called ‘playing doctor’, there were just as many girls initiating this kind of behavior as boys. Most of those never went on to perp horrible things, ” she explained. “The Duggers, who I have never watched–am not a fan, did it properly and the 14 year old boy should probably be left alone to live a good life, just like girls who do the same thing.”


TLC has pulled the show from the airwaves, they haven't decided whether to cancel or not. Seems like a no-brainer, since the channel just dealt with similar issues when they cancelled Honey-Boo-Boo just last October.

Meanwhile, the sponsors are jumping ship:

Companies including Ace Hardware, ConAgra foods, Party City, BEHR Paint, Pure Leaf Ice Tea, Ricola, Firehouse Subs, Pizza Hut, Sherwin-Williams paint, Crayola, Allstate Insurance, and King's Hawaiian have pulled their sponsorship from the reality TV show, which has run on the network since 2008.
Those companies join Walgreens, General Mills, Payless ShoeSource, and Choice Hotels who have previously said they were yanking their ads from the show.
Each of these companies took to social media to explain to fans and consumers that they were ending sponsorship of the show.
"We share your concern for the safety of children and have no plans to air Crayola commercials during future episodes," Crayola tweeted Wednesday.

Troll Chuck C. Johnson Banned from Twitter for Threatening Ferguson Activist

 
 

Right Wing troublemaker and troll-supreme Chuck C. Johnson has been banned from his main account for offering money to "take out" Ferguson civil rights activist DeRay McKesson.

Johnson was suspended on Sunday after soliciting support to “take out” DeRay McKesson, a civil rights activist. Johnson and his lawyers argue that he is a victim of censorship, and have threatened legal action. “Twitter doesn’t seem to have a problem with people using their service to coordinate riots,” Johnson wrote on his blog Sunday. “But they do have a problem with the kind of journalism I do.”
A self-described "radical” and “revolutionary," Johnson is known for ginning up controversy with false accusations. He wrongly accused two New York Times reporters of revealing the address of the police officer in the Ferguson shooting. He wrongly accused another Times reporter of posing for Playgirl. He wrongly claimed that Sen. Cory Booker did not live in Newark when he served as that city’s mayor. On one occasion, he was temporarily suspended from Twitter after posting photos of someone he claimed had been exposed to Ebola. His most high-profile moment came when he rightly cast doubt on the Rolling Stone article about the University of Virginia rape accusations. Then he threatened to expose the student who made the accusations, attacked her on social media and published a photo of a woman he thought was her -- but wasn't. Johnson has also suggested that President Obama is gay.

Twitter also took the threat seriously and banned Johnson's account, but he is such a rabid troll that he had to push back, of course.

Last night I tweeted that I was interested in doing some research on the twitter user, @deray a.k.a. DeRay McKesson.
@Deray is a leader of the anti-cop astroturfing currently hitting the inner city black community.
I’ve already exposed the activist, @ShaunKing, for being a fraud and potentially stealing some money from Tamir Rice. And I’ve been working with the ATF to bring justice to Michael Brown’s pastor who burned down his own church. I sued on my own dime to get Michael Brown’s juvenile records (which we are appealing to the Missouri Supreme Court.)
Of course I knew this would happen. Twitter has a serious problem with investigative journalism that breaks the mold.

Yeah, "award-winning journalist" who likes to threaten people. Otherwise known as a troll-bully.

Wonkette recently referred to Johnson as "Award-Winning Journalist and walking underpants stain Chuck C. Johnson."

Some may remember Chuck C. Johnson for his meddling and rabble-rousing during the Mississippi GOP Senate Primary last year, as he accused incumbent Republican Senator Thad Cochran of bribing black people to vote for him. Johnson was trying to help far-right Tea Partier Chris McDaniel, who lost to Cochran but refused to concede for weeks, spurred on by trolls like Johnson.

...It was the latest twist in the rancorous, messy feud enveloping the Mississippi GOP — and Johnson was right in the middle of it. He followed up the story, which was published on his own website, gotnews, with an avalanche of defiant tweets.
"You establishment hacks do know that I've been threatened with lawsuits, death threats before, right?" he wrote in one. "I planned on this."
He took on former Mitt Romney strategist Stuart Stevens, now a Cochran adviser, who mocked the bribery allegations and referred to Johnson as a "fringe" blogger. Johnson said Stevens had "praised" him in the past and threatened to publish private direct messages between the two.
All the while, Johnson engaged in relentless self-promotion. He bragged that his story had been picked up by the likes of Fox News, Breitbart and Rush Limbaugh (although he lamented that Sean Hannity didn't cite him by name.)

Chuck C. Johnson is not to be confused with Charles Johnson of the democratic blog Little Green Footballs, and indeed the two men have become online sparring partners thanks to their similar names and opposite aims. Now Johnson is accusing the other Johnson of getting him banned from Twitter:

...here’s the real kicker: Chuck seems to think I control Twitter now.
“It’s probably that loser over at Little Green Footballs,” Johnson said. “The guy has been stalking me for months for having the same name. It’s sad that Twitter has joined the censorship campaign but unsurprising. I’ve been fighting censors since I edited the high school newspaper. I’ve never lost. I’ll win this fight, too.”
I hope he doesn’t shoot me.

Michele Bachmann Thinks Obama is the Anti-Christ and the Devil

Isn't Michele Bachmann retiring from office? Oh wait - she's still here, unfortunately, and preaching that Obama is bringing about the end of the World.

LIke many a wingnut, Bachmann sees President Obama as the evil Anti-Christ, just persecutin' Christians day and night, and hatin' on Israel. And now that he's in cahoots with Iran, he's not only probably Gay and Kenyan, he's going to bring on the End of Days, the Rapture, and the Middle East Apocalypse just because he can. Who knew Presidents had these special powers? Oh wait, he must be THE DEVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!

What Bachmann said, Via Raw Story
“If we actually turn our back on Israel as we have seen Barack Obama do today, if that happens then I think we will see a scale and a level of push back in the United States, negative consequences,” Bachmann told Understanding the Times radio host Jan Markell on Sunday. “I don’t know what they are, but I believe that the Bible is true. And believe what the Bible says is that our nation and the people of our nation will reap a whirlwind, and we could see economic disasters, natural disasters.”

The President got some revenge by poking fun at Bachmann during the Washington Correspondent's Dinner:

"Michele Bachmann predicted I would bring about the biblical end of days. Now that's big. ... Lincoln, Washington — they didn't do that."

Of course Bachmann replied as a true "Victimized Christian" only she didn't point the finger directly at the President this time
“The Bible is filled with exciting information about living life today and in the future, both in this life and in the life to come,” Bachmann told WND (World Net Daily). “Any message that brings people closer to God’s wonderful plans for our lives is a good thing.
“God’s word is true and brings freedom and wholeness to all who read it and believe in Him.”

The feud prompted one of Bachmann's wingnut supporters to call Obama a dubious name:

. . . Wiles attacked the “uncircumcised philistine in the White House” along with the “adoring, obedient, subservient, lapdog news reporters” who attended the dinner. (In 1 Samuel, David refers to Goliath as the “uncircumcised philistine” who seeks to “defy the armies of the living God”).
He said that Obama is just as “evil” as King Sennacherib, who went to war with Judah, and similarly is “leading people into sin against God.”

Haslam Medicaid Plan Halted in Tennessee by Koch Brothers

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam stalled and waffled for two years while trying to come up with a way to expand Medicaid in Tennessee without starting a Tea Party frenzy. Last year it was obvious that the ill-fated TennCare wasn't working, but he waited until after the November elections to bring up his new plan "Insure Tenn." There was even a hint of optimism in the air last week, as hospital officials, doctors, nurses, the the disabled came to Nashville to testify before the Legislature that insuring the poorest of the poor would be good for everyone.

But they were outnumbered by loonies, including a crazy lay-preacher from Dayton, Tennessee - of Scopes Monkey Trial fame - to pray against Medicaid because it's just big government trying to oppress sick people. Just embarrassing and sad.










And another group showed up - Americans For Prosperity - goons backed by the Koch Brothers, sent to remind the Tennessee GOP where it's money comes from. Thus the Insure TN plan was doomed, and never got out of committee for a vote.

NASHVILLE-In December, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, a Republican, got the deal he wanted from the Obama administration: Tennessee would accept more than $1 billion in federal funding to expand Medicaid, as allowed for in the Affordable Care Act, but Obama aides would allow Haslam to essentially write staunchly conservative ideas into the program's rules for the state. He dubbed the reformed Medicaid program "Insure Tennessee."

But the state's chapter of Americans for Prosperity, the national conservative group whose foundation is chaired by controversial billionaire David Koch, argued Haslam was just trying to trick conservatives into implementing Obamacare in their state by giving it a new name. AFP campaigned aggressively Haslam's plans for the next six weeks, even running radio ads blasting GOP state legislators who said they might vote for it.

When the legislators walked into a hearing Tuesday morning to debate the measure, they looked out from the dais to a room packed with more than 100 people wearing red "Americans for Prosperity" t-shirts. Some of the activists had traveled on an AFP-chartered bus from Knoxville, more than two hours away, to pack the hearing well in advance of its 9:00 AM start time. . . . The sea of red crowded out representatives of the Tennessee Hospital Association, one of the big advocates of the Medicaid expansion, who were left to stand in the back or unable to get into the room at all.

And what did the AFP activists have to say for themselves?
“I’m skeptical of government-run programs,” said Louis Stans, a retired engineer who was part of the AFP group. Medicare, Stans said, was “better” and he had “paid into it my whole life.”
Those two sentences tell us a great deal about the state of the debate. Here’s a retiree who doesn’t like government-run programs, instead preferring a government-run program. In other words, an AFP activist traveled to the state capitol to condemn a conservative version of Medicaid expansion, because what he really wants is a socialized system like Medicare.
Levi Russell, a national spokesperson for Americans for Prosperity, told NBC News, “I would hope other governors look at Tennessee as an example.”

And just like the government-paid goons in our national Congress who keep trying to "Repeal Obamacare," the Republicans in Tennessee have no other plan for the poor except to bill the hospitals. They got nothing.

However, Gov. Haslam, to his credit, isn't dropping the subject. He mentioned coverage for the poorest citizens in his State of the State Address. This may seem like lip service, but I actually think he means it. Whether he can persuade the Tea Party to actually vote for something that will help the state is debatable. They'd rather talk about Guns and the Bible.

Too many Tennesseans are still not getting health coverage they need in the right way, in the right place, at the right time,” Haslam said in his address to top lawmakers.
“Last week, I talked about coming here not just to make a point but to make a difference. It’s about looking for answers, not just having an agenda. With great power comes great responsibility. So, though the special session has ended, I hope we can find a way to work together to address those problems,” he said.

Sarah Palin made a speech at the Iowa Freedom Summit, and once again it was weird wacky word salad, which is really just the same old, same old for we long-time Palin-watchers.

But this time even Conservatives are going "huh?" to some of her statements. The concensus after this rambling and rather disturbing speech is that Sarah has finally jumped the shark, even among her most staunchly stupid fans.

And basically the GOP is telling her to go away and let other candidates run in 2016.

But just like Frankenstein's Monster, Palin does whatever she wants to do! So she will continue to be the unwanted Elephant in the Room.

What shocked the churchly crowd at the Iowa Summit was her vulgar imagery. Family Values, folks!

“'The man can only ride you when your back is bent,” Palin said — one in a series of unusual one-liners she ad libbed after her teleprompter froze. “So strengthen it! Then the man can't ride you, America won't get taken for a ride, because so much is at stake.”

“What will they do to stop causing our pain and start feeling it again” she said in a short rant over Obamacare. “Well, in other words, um — Is Hillary a new Democrat or an old one?”

“Now the press asks, the press asks, ‘Can anyone stop Hillary?’ Again, this is to forego a conclusion, right? It's to scare us off, to convince us that — a pantsuit can crush patriots,” she added.

At another point, she yelled, “Screw the left in Hollywood” — an apparent jab at critics of the movie “American Sniper,” which some liberals have claimed glamorizes war.

Update 2: Dems are using Palin's speech to raise money for Hillary!

The group, Ready For Hillary, used comments about Clinton that Palin made over the weekend in Iowa to raise more than $25,000.
"It's going to take more than a village to beat Hillary," Palin said on Saturday. "I'm ready for Hillary. Are you coming?"
Ready For Hillary immediately seized on the comments and emailed supporters, asking them to donate. On Tuesday evening, the group emailed supporters again, announcing that the super PAC had raised more than $25,000 as a result of Palin's comments -- enough to qualify the former GOP candidate for vice president to be a co-chair of Ready for Hillary.

Nicole Wallace of MSNBC, who was a handler of Sarah Palin during her ill-fated Vice Presidential run in 2008 with John McCain, pointed out that Byron York was once a Sarah Palin fanboy, but now he's apparently come to his senses:

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Byron York writes about what he calls the GOP's Palin problem. He quotes conservative activists who called the speech long and disjointed, weird, and terrible, adding it didn't make any sense. York also quotes Craig Robinson of the Iowa Republican blog who writes in part, "I'm not comfortable sharing everything I heard about the speech. It was that bad. No offense to Governor Palin, but I do think it is problematic to have someone give a speech like that in the middle of a string of serious speeches by people who are seriously thinking about running for president.

BRZEZINSKI: Obviously, Nicole, I would think you would have more insight than anyone. What do you think when you're watching this?

NICOLLE WALLACE: Well, it's interesting that Byron York came to that conclusion. In 2008 he was one of her staunchest defenders. I remember being on the cell phone with him; he was one of the harshest critics of the campaign's handling of her. I think he really thought the problem with Palin was in our packaging of Palin and to see him kind of come full circle. I mean, this is who she is. This to me is evidence that she has finally shed every last one of those annoying handlers.
