Jeff Sessions Can't Handle the Truth

 photo 09246f5a-cf1a-4709-89ef-d2898526db1c.jpg

Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, Confederate Attorney General of the United States of Trump, had trouble speaking the truth last week before the Senate Intelligence Committee. He insisted that he did nothing wrong while making numerous contacts with Russians - most of whom he said he couldn't remember - during the Trump campaign for President, even though he has recused himself from the investigation about Russian interference in the election, which would seem to imply some kind of guilt.

The Trump White House said the President was NOT claiming Executive Privilege to keep Sessions silent, and Sessions agreed. But then he waffled continuously on answers about his discussions with Trump for no apparent legal reason, infuriating some Senators who just want the truth to come out.

He also had the gall to tell Senator Kamala Harris of California that she made him "nervous," which raised eyebrows since she is a person of color and he has been known to pal around with the racist Alt-Right crowd. None of the white men on the Committee made him "nervous."

Revelations of Comey Day

 photo Comey Day.png

Ex-FBI Director James Comey made his much-anticipated appearance on Capital Hill in Washington last week, appearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Oh what a day it was!

His opening statement had been released the day before so the Senators had time to think up some interesting questions, and Comey had a chance to share his encounters with President Donald Trump just before he was fired.

Why did Comey choose to speak publicly? He was afraid the President would spin things differently than the truth - in other words, he called the President a liar. More than once.

Trump's Horrific Response to #LondonBridge Attack

 photo london-clipart-3.jpg

London suffered a serious terrorist attack the other day with multiple lives lost as pedestrians were rammed with vans and stabbed with knives:

Londoners rallied and started helping each other, as they always do, as sympathy poured in from the world.

On the other hand, our erstwhile 'leader' Donald The Trump spent the next 24 hours tweeting about fear of Muslims, pushing his Muslim Ban in the United States, and criticizing the Mayor of London - also a Muslim. He seemed to have no clue that emergencies call for a calm and cool response, not fear-mongering and political shenanigans. But then again, when has Trump ever been "Presidential" in any situation?

Jennifer Rubin writes in The Washington Post:

...The Brits fought back, launching drinking glasses and chairs at the savages who attacked them. The police acted with lightning-fast precision, killing the three assailants within eight minutes of the emergency call. And, God Bless him, a man returned to the bar where he experienced Saturday’s horror — to pay his bill and tip. Civilization is not going to be driven out of Britain by three or three hundred killers.
Meanwhile — and it pains me to write this — our president acted like a clod, a heartless and dull-witted thug in sending out a series of tweets....
. . . One is prompted to ask if he is off his rocker. But this is vintage Trump — impulsive and cruel, without an ounce of class or human decency. His behavior no longer surprises us, but it should offend and disturb us, first, that he remains the face and voice of America in the world and, second, that his fans hoot and holler, seeing this as inconsequential or acceptable conduct.

Keith Olbermann stated in his GQ "The Resistance" Video:

Let me apologize again to the world, particularly to the United Kingdom, on behalf of the United States of America. Donald Trump is not of sound mind. We are working to correct the problem as soon as possible. . . . In almost any other job in this country, assuredly in any other private sector job, no matter the financial cost, no matter the upheaval, no matter the blow-back, Donald Trump, our national embarrassment, our international disgrace, would have been fired by now.... everywhere from the Board Room at Microsoft to the deep fryer at McDonald's.

Trump Tweets #Covfefe At Midnight

 photo covfefe.jpg

On the same day it was reported that Trump's lawyers want to screen all his tweets, he made one of his funniest tweet gaffes ever!

Just after midnight, he let loose a strange sentence fragment complaining about press coverage, only the last word was the mysterious "Covfefe." The word trended all night and yet no one from the White House could delete it because Trump apparently fell asleep with his phone (maybe while sitting on the toilet?).

 photo 6a942caa-ae07-4956-a251-8ca8073ac501.png

Twitter immediately exploded with hilarious memes. Note that the word "Rosebud" was also trending at the same time - that is the last word in the film Citizen Kane spoken by the main character, an extremely wealthy but unhappy man who was remembering a sled he left in the snow on his last happy day of childhood. The cryptic parallel was obvious and made by twitter fans over and over.

UPDATE: Donald Trump chose not to explain the next day what he meant by "Covfefe," merely tweeting:

It was the unfortunate Spokesman Sean Spicer who came out for his daily press briefing to suffer questions about the Trump tweet, giving it a note of high seriousness that "Covfefe" did not deserve.

"The president and a small group of people know exactly what he meant." ~ Sean Spicer

Hillary Clinton quipped:

And later Hillary tweeted this retort:

Idiot Abroad ~ Trump Fails on World Stage

 photo 6f40610e-405c-4402-b31e-abe78f5f8e63.jpg

Back in 2008 when candidate Mitt Romney went overseas and made one gaffe after another, we thought Romneyshambles was the worst the GOP could do on the world stage.

WRONG!

Donald Trump went overseas last week and continuously acted like the "Ugly American," making a complete jackass of himself and embarassing our country.
