~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a GOP Presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee has mainly gotten attention this year for his support of the Duggar Family and their show on The Learning Channel, even after it came to light that their oldest son Josh Duggar had molested his younger sisters. Now that the show has finally been cancelled by the network, Huckabee is eager to shake off the taint of that long-time association.
Also, the candidate really, really wants to be on stage at the first Fox News GOP Primary debate, but Donald Trump is sucking up all the air time as well as moving up in the polls.
So to secure himself a place, Uncle Sugar decided to make a tasteless remark about President Obama and the Holocaust. So yeah, he may get into the first tier of the debate, but Huckabee has probably lost the Jewish vote forever, which is fitting because he only supports Israel until they fail so the Rapture can happen and Christians can take over everywhere. And thus we have the hypocrisy of Mike Huckabee and many in the GOP - they are not true friends of Israel in any way.
From NBC:
... Huckabee told Breitbart News on Saturday that the Obama administration's actions on the Iran deal are "naive."
"This president's foreign policy is the most feckless in American history. It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians," he said.
"By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven. This is the most idiotic thing, this Iran deal. It should be rejected by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress and by the American people," he added.
The Jewish Anti-Defamation League Released a statement:
Whatever one’s views of the nuclear agreement with Iran – and we have been critical of it, noting that there are serious unanswered questions that need to be addressed – comments such as those by Mike Huckabee suggesting the president is leading Israel to another Holocaust are completely out of line and unacceptable.
Israeli military and security officials have repeatedly said the Obama Administration has been as strong as any other American administration in keeping Israel secure. Just a year ago, during the war in Gaza, the president signed off on an additional $223 million for Iron Dome anti-missile weaponry to protect the lives of Israeli civilians.
To hear Mr. Huckabee invoke the Holocaust when America is Israel’s greatest ally and when Israel is a strong nation capable of defending itself is disheartening. The great tragedy of the Holocaust saw the Jews of Europe without allies and without power at the worst possible moment.
There is a serious debate taking place over the next five weeks within Congress over the Iran deal. We have called on all sides, regardless of whether one is liberal or conservative, to conduct that debate responsibly and civilly. That plea should apply to presidential candidates as well.
President Obama, traveling in Kenya, responded today:
...Obama, hitting back at former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee’s cringeworthy Holocaust-themed remarks about the Iran nuclear deal a day earlier, said the 2016 candidate’s comment were “part of just a general pattern we have seen that would be considered ridiculous if it weren’t so sad.”
“We have robust debates, we look at the facts,'' Obama said in some of his only comments regarding anything the pack of 16 GOP candidates running to replace him have said. “We just don't fling out ad hominem attacks like that because it doesn't help inform the American people.''
“Maybe it’s just an effort to push Mr. Trump out of the headlines,” Obama suggested during a press conference in Ethiopia, where he was asked a question specifically about Huckabee’s assertion that the White House’s Iran nuclear deal was tantamount to marching Israel “to the door of the oven.”
“It's not the kind of leadership that's needed for America right now,'' the President said. “These are leaders in the Republican Party … the American people deserve better. Certainly presidential debates deserve better”...
But the President's comments only led to doubling down by Mr. Huckabee:
From CNN: Huckabee Out-Trumps Trump
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee defended himself Monday after President Barack Obama slammed his comments linking the Iran deal to the Holocaust as "ridiculous" and "sad."
"What's 'ridiculous and sad' is that President Obama does not take Iran's repeated threats seriously. For decades, Iranian leaders have pledged to 'destroy,' 'annihilate,' and 'wipe Israel off the map' with a 'big Holocaust,'" Huckabee said in a statement Monday just hours after Obama spoke. "Never again' will be the policy of my administration and I will stand with our ally Israel to prevent the terrorists in Tehran from achieving their own stated goal of another Holocaust."
Huckabee has continued to capitalize on the moment, with his campaign posting a video to Facebook within hours of Obama's rebuke that earned more than 30,000 views within its 40 minutes online.
When Huckabee was begged to back down by Latino Jew Geraldo Rivera of Fox News, he doubled down even more and started raving about "staring into ovens" while visiting Auschwitz.
From Huffington Post
"Three times I've been to Auschwitz. When I talked about the oven door, I have stood at that oven door. I know exactly what it looks like -- 1.1 million people killed," Huckabee, a 2016 presidential candidate, said in an appearance on Fox News' "The Five."
Geraldo Rivera, one of the show's hosts, pushed back on the comparison.
"I love you. You would be a great president," Rivera said. "You have the temperance. You have the experience. But as a Jew -- and I have to tell you, with people who work in the Anti-Defamation League and relatives on both sides, it was inappropriate. There are some places you cannot go."
The Duggar Denial continued on Friday night as the sisters of Josh Duggar took to Fox News and sought to minimize the impact of his abuse.
From Zerofiltered
Jessa Duggar said her brother was “a young boy in puberty” who was “a little too curious about girls.”
After the fondling, the sisters said, their parents restricted the children from playing games like hide and seek and placed locks on bedrooms where the girls and boys slept separately. Jill Duggar said she was 12 when the abuse occurred, and Jessa Duggar said she was 9 or 10. Both women are now married.
Jessa Duggar said that she wanted to defend her brother against people who call him a child molester, pedophile or rapist. She said people can get angry at her for saying this is overboard, “but I can say this because I was one of the victims.”
“He made some bad choices,” she said. “But really the extent of it was mild, inappropriate touching, on fully clothed victims, most of it while girls were sleeping.”
Josh was "sly and subtle" which is another way of saying he was creeping around like a devious deviant.
Transcript Via Alternet
JESSA DUGGAR SEEWALD: No. I think for us our situation is so different than most girls in that he was — he’s very subtle anyway. Like he knew in his mind my actions are wrong and I have bad intentions but he was very sly, like the girls didn’t catch on, you know. It was like, okay, if you catch the girl sleeping, you know, like a quick feel or whatever. Or it’s like, you know, if you’re just not really aware, you know, in the situation that happened when the girls were awake, it’s like they weren’t aware what was happening. It was very subtle. And so I think that for us it’s like, okay, we realize this is serious — but at the same time it wasn’t like a horror story or like this terrible thing.
And this unintentionally tragic interchange :(
KELLY: . . . What were the safeguards that were put into place just to make sure?
JILL DUGGAR DILLARD: I was going to say not, you know, being alone. My parents said, okay, we’re not going to do this hide and seek thing where two people go off and hide together — and not baby-sitting the girls.
KELLY: At night in your room?
DILLARD: Locks on the doors, you know, everybody’s in bed, girls in the girls’ room, boys in the boys’ room. And so, yes. And as a mother now, I look back and I think, you know, my parents did such an amazing job. For me, even when we went through the DHS investigation, they complimented my parents on what an amazing job they did through that process. And so, I think not only taking the legal actions that they did and then going the extra mile and I see as a mom I hope that I can set the same safeguards in my family that they did and, you know, reaching the heart of their children. And not only trying to take care of Josh but us girls.
The Duggar parents were interviewed by Fox host Megyn Kelly last night, and it was pretty much a train wreck. In their world of delusions, the Duggar parents think if they keep repeating that their son Josh is a "reformed" child molester - as if that is even possible - then the fans will believe and help them keep their show on The Learning Channel.
Of course they chose the sympathetic Fox News for the interview - the channel least likely to call them out on bullsh*t.
And if the parents' intervew wasn't bad enough, some of the Duggar girls who were victimized as children have also been interviewed by Kelly, and that will be broadcast this Friday. Of course these brainwashed young ladies are making excuses for Big Brother, saying folks should just chill out over Josh Duggar's predatory nature. Jesus forgave him, blah blah, and so did they.
According to their Daddy Jim-Bob Duggar on Fox, the girls "didn't know anything about it because they were asleep" and the touching was mostly "on top of their clothes." So what? That is still rape, you idiot! I think any kids still at home with these people are at risk, and it would be great if the state of Arkansas would get a clue and rescue them.
One of the worst questions asked by Kelly was whether the Duggars felt they were making a "Sophie's Choice," referring to the referring to the 1982 Film and William Styron's novel about a woman in a concentration camp having to choose to save one child or another. What Kelly missed with that question is that in "Sophie's Choice," both children were innocent victims, but in the case of the Duggars, one child was molesting the other children. Josh Duggar wasn't innocent, and it happened multiple times. The protection given by his parents was as much to save their own reputations and TV show as it was to save their firstborn son, while throwing the daughters under the bus. There is still no mention of how much counseling these very young girls were given, or how devastated they were. It's all about the parents and Josh - the true victims of "Christian Bashing" according to Kelly. It's beyond the beyond of the beyond!!!!
From Fox News
“I think as parents, we felt we’re failures, you know?” Duggar said as she sat down with her husband Jim Bob at their Arkansas home for an exclusive interview on “The Kelly File.”
Asked by Kelly if they thought the backlash against the family had been greater because of what they stood for, including their Christian beliefs, Jim Bob replied, “I think, you know what, Christianity is not about being perfect or about being a perfect family, but it’s actually about being forgiven….
“People on the outside think, ‘well Christians are supposed to be perfect…’ No, you know what, all of us as Christians we struggle every day.”
. . . “As parents we were trying to do the best thing we knew how,” Michelle said.
. . . Asked why they would launch a television show in 2008 with this episode in the family background, Jim Bob replied, “we had nothing to hide. We’d taken care of all that years before.”
From New York Times
Ms. Kelly also spoke to two of the sisters, Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard. That interview will air on Friday.
In a clip from Fox News, Ms. Seewald said in the interview that she was one of the victims and that what Josh did was “very wrong.”
“I do want to speak up in his defense against people who are calling him a child molester or a pedophile or a rapist,” she (his sister) said.
“I’m like, that is so overboard and a lie, really,” she added. “I mean people get mad at me for saying that, but I can say this because I was one of the victims.”
Huckabee Jokes That Transgenders Want to Shower with Opposite Sex
TLC's Popular Duggar Family Has Incest Problem
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ex-Arkansas Governor and GOP Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee didn't mind apologizing for the incestuous child abuse of Josh Duggar last week, but this week someone found a speech Huckabee made back in February in which he joked that Transgender people must be pretending so they can use bathrooms and gym showers to spy on the opposite sex.

The latter was probably a slam at Bruce Jenner, the high-profile celebrity Dad of the Kardashian family, who recently announced his intention to live as a transgender woman.

In Huckabee's world of sexual arrested-development, adult orientation is all about leering at underage girls in the shower, right? No wonder Huck supports Josh Duggar, who liked to crawl into bed with his little sisters. But he implies that actual transgender people are just fakes - not like self-righteous creepers who pretend that their own sexual activities are pre-forgiven by God.

From Huffington Post
"We are now in city after city watching ordinances say that your seven-year-old daughter, if she goes into the restroom cannot be offended, and you can’t be offended, if she’s greeted there by a 42-year-old man who feels more like a woman than he does a man,” Huckabee said in February at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville in comments that were first reported by BuzzFeed on Tuesday.
“Now I wish that someone told me that when I was in high school that I could have felt like a woman when it came time to take showers in PE,” Huckabee said. “I’m pretty sure that I would have found my feminine side and said, ‘Coach, I think I’d rather shower with the girls today.’"

From The Guardian
“There is something inherently wrong about forcing little children to be a part of this social experiment,” Huckabee said. “I’m not against anybody. I’d just like for somebody to bring their brain to work some day and not leave it on the bedstand when they show up to govern.”
While speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Huckabee was asked what he thought about the latest cover of Vanity Fair, which features Caitlyn Jenner, in the latest stage of former Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner’s transition to a female identity.
“I’m not going there,” Huckabee replied.

Dr. Drew Pinksky had this to say on CNN, via Transcript
Well, look, he's entitled to his opinion, but it's insensitive. He's now bled over into misogyny and sexism in the course of his being insensitive to these issues. And whether or not it's a social experiment, whether or not psychologists or psychiatrist have this wrong, listen, he's not the one to say. The fact is there's a human being here, these are human beings that deserve sensitive care and the best possible care by experts, not attack by their politicians.
. . . He's not helping the process. As we're saying, there's a cultural moment here -- when the issues are coming to the fore. People want to be sensitive. They want to get their head around. They want to understand this. This sounds very much like the kind of sort of frankly knuckleheaded notions that people had about gay and lesbians not that long ago. And this is the same phenomenon.
Should we not allow a gay man into a man's room either, Mr. Huckabee, is that what you're saying? I mean, for goodness sakes --

From Mashable
In one fell swoop, Huckabee dismisses the entire notion of being transgender as "ridiculous" and suggests that legislators who recognize it have "left their brains on the night stand."
Huckabee is a former presidential candidate and often mentioned as a potential GOP contender for 2016. But in his transphobia, he appears to be out of step even with another right-wing Christian conservative potential candidate: Rick Santorum.
"if [Jenner] says he’s a woman, then he’s a woman,” Santorum told CBS News in South Carolina on Tuesday, screwing up his pronouns, but still. “My responsibility as a human being is to love and accept everybody," he added. "Not to criticize people for who they are.”

TLC Network's Popular Duggar Family Has An Incest Problem

 photo c0888499-9731-48b9-9c85-75356fe1d46f.jpg

The Duggar family of Arkansas is famous for having 19 children and a reality TV show on The Learning Channel (TLC). Having loads of babies is their contribution to the "Quiverfull Movement," a cultish form of conservative faux Christianity in which women are baby-makers who must produce a "Quiver-full" of children for the Lord.

Huff Post: About the Quiverfull Movement
...Psalm 127 states: “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.” A quiver, in the old English sense of the word, is a case for holding arrows.

From Patheos.com: The Duggars World of Independent Fundamental Baptists (IFB)
→ Men alone are suited to be the head of home and church.
→ For a woman to be pleasing to God she must always and in all things remain perfectly submissive, first to her father and then to her husband. The primary function of a woman is to have children, who then become her “mission field.”
→ It is sinful for a woman to dress in any way that might cause a man to “spiritually stumble” by having a lustful thought.
→ Human life begins at conception. Every abortion, without exception, is murder.
→ Homosexuals are evil perverts who despise God and should be kept away from society generally and children especially. There is no appreciable moral distinction between homosexuality and bestiality, incest, child molestation or rape.
→ Black people bear the “mark of Cain,” and so are cursed.
→ Christians are called to remain steadfastly separate from the world and its sinful practices and temptations, such as movies, dancing, and any music with an addictive rock beat.
→ Educating children at home or in IFB K-12 schools is necessary in order to protect them from the knowledge and ways of a fallen and corrupt world.

The father of the clan, Jim Bob, ran for U.S. Senate in 2002 and failed, but his stair-step family caught the eye of an AP reporter and made them famous.

 photo 080ce63c-1622-4e8b-a99f-25c06de7b33c.jpg

The photo led to a a special about having babies on the Discovery Health Channel called "14 Children and Pregnant Again," then eventually to the TLC show. In 2004, mother Michelle Duggar was awarded "Mother of the Year" from Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who remains their staunchest supporter.

It also began a GOP tradition of using the Duggars as a way to suck up to the Tea Party. Son Josh has been especially popular with the GOP-for-President crowd as they lined up for photo-ops.

 photo DuggarCollage.jpg

But now it turns out that the same year the Duggars were "discovered" by Discover/TLC, oldest son Josh Duggar started having some problems. It seems he liked to "visit" the beds of his little sisters - 4 of them - for some recreational sex play, and even snuggled with one child who was a family friend. He was 15 years old and the girls were ten years younger, which even shocked his clueless parents, who took time out from procreating to deal with him, but they failed miserably.

From Addicting Info
...Instead of reporting the abuse, Duggar concealed his son’s offenses for about a year, when Josh was again caught with his hand in places it should not have been. In March of 2003, Josh was accused of fondling “several” minors, “often when they slept, but at times when they were awake.”
Instead of reporting the abuse through official channels Jim Bob, who once ran for Senate on a platform that called for the executions of rapists and those who indulge in incest, lied to a friend who was a state trooper. Jim-Bob and Josh told Joseph Hutchens that the abuse occurred once, through the clothing, leading Hutchens to give the younger Duggar a “stern talk” rather than report the incident through official channels.
Hutchens is currently serving a 56-year prison sentence for possession and distribution of child pornography.

From Lisa Bloom on NakedLaw
Jim Bob...told the police that he had sent Josh to perform manual labor, which turns out to be helping a friend remodel a building. Because physical exertion is such a well known cure for sexual predators, right? Jim Bob also said Josh had received counseling, but his wife Michelle told police that counseling had not actually occurred.
. . . in 2007, Josh Duggar sued the Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services, which had a continuing obligation to protect minor girls, and the case went to trial. We don’t know what the lawsuit was about or who won the trial. My educated guess would be that conditions were placed on Josh regarding his interactions with his sisters, which he wanted lifted.
. . . I’ve read the entire police report, and it’s replete with Duggar family efforts to protect Josh. What’s missing is empathy for the victims, any mention of counseling for them, or efforts to protect them. Child sexual abuse can have devastating, lifelong impact. The Duggar family’s statement to police that the victims had “forgiven” Josh raises uncomfortable questions: were they pressured by the family to sweep this under the rug?

Josh Duggar issued this statement of alleged "remorse":
Twelve years ago, as a young teenager I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life. I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.

Redemption? Where is the proof of that? Also there has been no proof shown that the girls involved received any counseling about what they suffered. However, some of the girls did write a book called "Growing Up Duggar" that gives certain insights into their situation.

From PerezHilton.com
The girls write about a "chain of command" in the family that follows birth order (with Josh being the eldest):
"The system is for when an older child encourages a younger child to do what is right or not do what is wrong, and the younger child is expected to listen … their older siblings are their elders and they should treat them as such … Josiah can ask James to stop whistling in the car, and he needs to stop."
Given their patriarchal family structure and this "chain of command," one can only speculate what the girls were thinking when their eldest brother was touching them. While Josh's offenses took place in 2002-2003, the girls weren't interviewed by police until December 2006, but charges were not filed because the three-year statute of limitation had run out. What — or who — kept the girls silent?

And . . .

They add:
"The choice to forgive doesn't always free the other person from the consequences of his or her wrong actions, but it frees the forgiver of negative feelings towards the offender. And if we still have feelings of bitterness, the Bible says it's not only to forgive the other person, but also to go a step further and look for ways to bless him or her."
Their message is strong, but vague.

Each day since this story broke there have been more disturbing details.
  • In 2006, The Oprah Winfrey Show cancelled an appearance by the family due to the incest rumors.
  • In May 2007, more allegations appeared in a comment on a blog about the Duggars.
  • In 2008, Josh Duggar made an incest joke concerning his siblings during an interview!
    In the clip, he says he needs someone to “chaperone” a date with his now-wife Anna. Since it was a rated-R movie, younger sister Jinger couldn’t come — and instead twins Jana and John-David ...stepped in.
    “So we chose Jana and John-David,” he says in the cringe-worthy clip. “We thought, ‘Why not have a double date?’ We are from Arkansas!”

  • Last week, Duggar family and GOP Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee spoke out in support of Josh Duggar.
  • A few days later, a Judge appointed by Huckabee when he was Governor of Arkansas ordered that the police report about the case should be destroyed. Luckily many media outlets already had copies of the report.
    . . . Springdale Police spokesman Scott Lewis said Judge Stacey Zimmerman ordered the 2006 offense report destroyed Thursday. Zimmerman didn't return a request for comment Friday.
    "The judge ordered us yesterday to expunge that record," Lewis said, adding that similar records are typically kept indefinitely. "As far as the Springdale Police Department is concerned this report doesn't exist."
    Neither Duggar nor his father, a former state representative, returned calls seeking comment Friday.
  • The wife of a pastor in another "Quiverfull" family called the molestation "Playing Doctor," according to Raw Story
    “When I was a kid, it was often called ‘playing doctor’, there were just as many girls initiating this kind of behavior as boys. Most of those never went on to perp horrible things, ” she explained. “The Duggers, who I have never watched–am not a fan, did it properly and the 14 year old boy should probably be left alone to live a good life, just like girls who do the same thing.”

TLC has pulled the show from the airwaves, they haven't decided whether to cancel or not. Seems like a no-brainer, since the channel just dealt with similar issues when they cancelled Honey-Boo-Boo just last October.

Meanwhile, the sponsors are jumping ship:

From CNN
Companies including Ace Hardware, ConAgra foods, Party City, BEHR Paint, Pure Leaf Ice Tea, Ricola, Firehouse Subs, Pizza Hut, Sherwin-Williams paint, Crayola, Allstate Insurance, and King's Hawaiian have pulled their sponsorship from the reality TV show, which has run on the network since 2008.
Those companies join Walgreens, General Mills, Payless ShoeSource, and Choice Hotels who have previously said they were yanking their ads from the show.
Each of these companies took to social media to explain to fans and consumers that they were ending sponsorship of the show.
"We share your concern for the safety of children and have no plans to air Crayola commercials during future episodes," Crayola tweeted Wednesday.
