Chris Christie has a Tumultuous Super Bowl Weekend - Updated

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, for Chris Christie. New Jersey is hosting the Super Bowl, so the Governor is in demand to rub elbows with the rich and famous. On the other hand - his staff, campaign manager, and ex-best friends are under subpoenas that are due to the Legislature on Monday. Have a nice weekend, Gov.


Oh, the humanity. Today was meant to be Chris Christie’s Super Bowl party, literally. Instead, the Hindenburg, engulfed by flames, is crashing right before our eyes.

After a scathing New York Times article appeared about Bridgegate and Christie was implicated by his old pal David Wildstein, the Governor appeared at an event for radio personality Howard Stern's birthday. He schmoozed and left early without answering questions from reporters.

Governor Christie was booed and heckled by New Yorkers on Saturday.









“You made it across the bridge?” howled one heckler as the problem-plagued Christie — in a navy Windbreaker and black scarf — sat impassively on the stage at Broadway and W. 43rd St.

Super Bowl week was supposed to be another victory lap for Christie on his road to the White House. Instead it has turned into public booing and blink, and you’ll miss him public appearances. Christie’s approval ratings have plummeted both nationally and in New Jersey. The governor is now trailing Hillary Clinton by 12 points in the hypothetical head to head 2016 matchup.

Seniors Boo Paul Ryan at AARP Conference

On Friday afternoon, Paul Ryan addressed the AARP’s National Annual Conference in New Orleans. The GOP vice presidential candidate attacked Obamacare for taking $716 billion out of Medicare — the very same cuts he included in his budget — and made the case for transforming seniors’ health care from a guaranteed benefit into a premium support “voucher” program.
The address didn’t go over well. Audience members called Ryan a “liar,” told him to “go home” and the repeatedly booed his critique of President Obama and health reform.

“The first step to a stronger Medicare is to repeal Obamacare,” Ryan said, pausing as the audience in New Orleans booed and shouted, “No!”

“I had a feeling there would be mixed reaction,” the candidate said, but the booing continued. “It weakens Medicare for today’s seniors and puts it at risk for the next generation.”

That, too, was met with audible groans and jeers.

“It funnels $716 billion out of Medicare to pay for a new entitlement that we didn’t even ask for,” Ryan insisted.

“No!” people shouted.

Although Ryan seemed to be unfazed by the heckling, his explanations and assurances never convinced the AARP audience, who continued booing him throughout the remainder of his speech.

Mitt Romney Gets Boo'd by the NAACP ~ UpDATED

Romney's conservative message did not go down very well with an audience of the NAACP's annual convention. The crowd of hundreds in a half-filled ballroom had applauded politely on occasion until he got to the portion of his speech where he said if elected on November 6, he would work to repeal and replace the healthcare plan.

"I'm going to eliminate every expensive, non-essential program. That includes Obamacare," Romney said. Then the boos erupted.

Romney seemed unsettled by the reaction.

"You know, there was a survey of the Chamber of Commerce -- they carried out a survey of their members, about 1,500 surveyed, and uh, they asked them what effect Obamacare would have on their plans, and three-quarters of them said it made them less likely to hire people," he said when the booing stopped. "So I say, again, that if our priority is jobs, and that's my priority, that's something I'd change and replace."

As long as African-American leaders keep their race on the Democrat plantation, preach hatred of other races, blame others for their failures, keep their followers ignorant by depriving them of school choice, and make excuses for criminal behavior, their chances for advancement are very limited. I watched the entire speech on youtube and while the booing was immediate and loud on the Obamacare comment, there most certainly was NOT sustained booing as is being reported.
There WERE many applause breaks throughout - and at least four 'organ blasts' of approval when he hit an especially strong note.
This speech could be studied as part of a doctoral dissertation about the liberal bias in the media in reporting the news.
