Hillary Clinton became the first woman to ever win the Iowa Caucus although she was nearly tied in a dead heat with Bernie Sanders for most of the night. Ted Cruz won on the Republican side, snatching victory from Donald Trump, with Marco Rubio coming in a strong third and the rest winning only fractions of points.

Prediction: if Hillary wins by 1 to 2%, press will say it's a wash. If Bernie wins by one vote, press will say it's a revolution

What a shocker. A fringe Christian GOP ideologue won Iowa. Miraculous! Except for those other times. #IowaCaucus #Irrelevant

Anybody who watched all of Ted Cruz's far too long, rambling, overly flamboyant speech last nite would say that was his Howard Dean moment!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 2, 2016
Cruz' victory speech was so long, you had to wonder if he was filibustering his own speech. Expected him to start reading "Green Eggs & Ham"

Wow. Marco Rubio could really teach RC Cola a few things about showing enthusiasm for 3rd place.
— Dave Itzkoff (@ditzkoff) February 2, 2016
The story is NOT the Marco Rubio surge, the story is our Media being wrong about everything all the time. #IowaCaucus
