Yet another person saying it's racist for Santa to be white....
For all you kids watching at home, Santa just is white....Santa is what he is.... I wanted to get that straight.
. . . Just because [an image] makes you feel uncomfortable doesn't mean it has to change. I mean, Jesus was a white man too. He was a historical figure — that's a verifiable fact. As is Santa. I just want the kids watching to know that.
~ Fox Host Megyn Kelly
Who are you even talking to? Children who are sophisticated enough to be watching a news channel at 10 o’clock at night, yet innocent enough to still believe Santa Claus is real, yet racist enough to be freaked out if he isn’t white?
. . . Who exactly is changing the facts to make themselves more comfortable here? Actual Saint Nicholas — well, my guess is there’d be no Christmas if he looked [darker], because he’s probably still on the no-fly list.
. . . You do know Jesus wasn’t born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, right?
~ Jon Stewart on Comedy Central
Jesus's whiteness is a verifiable fact. I mean, just look at any photo of Jesus. He was just your average Aramaic-speaking First Century Middle Eastern White Guy.
~ Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central
You figure if Jesus had really been white, he'd have gotten at least one appeal.— Ian (@iboudreau) December 12, 2013
