As expected, Trump upstaged the other candidates during the first Fox #GOP Debate. Right out of the box, he was the only candidate to say he wouldn't promise not to run as an Independent if he didn't get the nomination. When pressed on the issue, he kept restating that even if they rejected him, he would still cause trouble by running as a third party candidate.



He also kept his hard-line stance on the border wall with Mexico:

Pushed by hostess Megyn Kelly to explain why he attacks women, Trump said he wished he could say a few things to her, and it was clear to see the bully-boy come out.

The rest of the primary candidates spent time trying to dig themselves out of old holes caused by old statements, or they tried to climb over Trump to get their message out.

Ben Carson mumbled about taxes based on Biblical Tithing, just sounding silly. Huckabee mentioned Benghazi at least once. Scott Walker got in a zinger at Hillary Clinton's emails, but also sounded Mitt-like by talking about war with bayonets. Jeb Bush just looked tired and clueless, while Marco Rubio sounded well-rehearsed but also anti-immigration so why would Latinos vote for him?

Chris Christie attempted to play up his involvement with Homeland Security during 9-11 when he was Attorney General of New Jersey prosecuting terrorists. But in most viewer's minds, it just begs the question of why he would then turn around and close down a bridge just for petty politics?

Ted Cruz ran against Washington, giving a mini-speech about cancelling everything about Obama on "Day One" of his Presidency (which will never happen). Cruz was also unintentionally funny, saying his Dad was once a drug addict before he found Jesus. And now . . . his Daddy is a religion addict-fanatic.

All of them want more War, and less Planned Parenthood.

The only Republican that came off sounding moderate was Governor John Kasich, but his message of love, acceptance and help is so far removed from the core of the Tea Party that he is dead in the water now. However, they might drag him along as Veep just to try and win the Ohio swing-state vote.

Countdown to GOP Trump Clown Car Debate

OMG - there will be two hours of debate on Fox News Thursday night, from 9-11 p.m. with Trump and nine Non-Trumps, plus an earlier hour of debate from 5-6 pm of the also-rans who didn't make the cut.

So get your popcorn, a iPad or phone for tweeting, and some alcohol for a drinking game. It doesn't get any better than this!

In naming the debate field, Fox News said Trump led its poll aggregation with 23.4%, followed by Bush at 12% and Walker at 10.2%.

The remainder of the top ten: Huckabee (6.6%), Carson (5.8%), Cruz (5.4%), Rubio (5.4%), Paul (4.8%), Christie (3.4%) and Kasich (3.2%).

The percentages for the other candidates: Perry (1.8%), Santorum (1.4%), Jindal (1.4%), Fiorina (1.3%), Graham (0.7%), Pataki (0.6%) and Gilmore (0.2%).

Rachel Maddow pointed out that Fox broke their own rules to bump Perry from the main debate but allow in John Kasich, Governor of Ohio, who just entered the race last week. Where is the debate being held? Cleveland, Ohio. Coincidence. Absolutely not.

“This is nuts,” she said. “I can’t believe they did this. I mean, I get that Fox News only wants to have 10 candidates on the stage. They know, and everybody knows, that arbitrarily setting this 10-candidate cutoff when you’ve got 17 people running is gonna have politically-fatal consequences for if not all, at least most of the candidates who don’t make that top 10.”

Maddow explained that Fox originally said it would use the five most recent polls to determine which candidates would make it into Thursday’s debate. However, the network ended up ignoring an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll conducted between July 26 and 30 showing Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Ohio Gov. John Kasich within one percentage point of each other and instead used a Quinnipiac University poll gathered between July 23 and 28 showing Kasich ahead by three percentage points.

“That decision had the effect of making John Kasich look like he is way more clearly ahead of Rick Perry than he would look otherwise,” she said.
. . . “They violated their own previously-announced criteria of what polls they use,” she said. “They moved the goal posts in the middle of the game in a way that makes it look like they were trying to justify the lineup of who they wanted on stage.”

Donald Trump is in trouble financially as businesses run from his empire, and he keeps doubling down on his remarks about these horrible Mexicans invading our country. His pals at Fox News are trying to pull him out of his deep hole, and especially Bill O'Reilly, who attempted to white-splain what Trump shoulda-woulda-coulda said if he hadn't been so stupidly blunt.

But here's the Catch-22 for Fox: If Trump wasn't so damn blunt about his racism towards Mexican immigrants, he wouldn't be at the top of the GOP contenders. Hate is all he has to give, and is oh-so-willing to give it to the world.

Today Trump made a new statement defending himself, saying his words were "distorted" by reporters and others who understand how to turn on a TV or search for a transcript.

Then he pointed out that Mexicans are bringing us diseases, in a flashback to last summer's Murrieta Madness as white people screamed at immigrant children on the border. That was exactly a year ago on the 4th of July - coincidence? I think not.

“I have lost a lot during this presidential run defending the people of the United States,” Trump said. “I have always heard that it is very hard for a successful person to run for president.”
Trump said in his statement that some in the news media had begun to “totally distort” what he had said over the past week, and that “many fabulous people come in from Mexico and our country is better for it.”
However, he said, the United States has become “a dumping ground for Mexico” with illegal border-crossers smuggling illicit drugs and carrying “tremendous infectious disease.”
Trump said the recent killing of a woman in San Francisco by a illegal immigrant from Mexico with a criminal record proves him right.
“This is merely one of thousands of similar incidents throughout the United States. In other words, the worst elements in Mexico are being pushed into the United States by the Mexican government,” he said.

And even after that tweet was gone, he continued to taunt Bush about the Mexican border:





He also directed criticism at fellow candidate Rick Perry, once Governor of Texas:





Trump has seized upon the death of a woman, Kathryn Steinle, in San Francisco, CA, to "prove" his talking points because an illegal immigrant has been arrested. He also used the opportunity to taunt candidate Marco Rubio, a child of Cuban immigrants himself.

"There's tremendous crime and illegal immigration is just incredible. As far as Rubio, he's very weak on immigration," he said in the phone interview. "You know, I have great relations with Mexico and I love the Mexican people, and the spirit of the Mexican people. These are people just pouring across the border."









Fox News pundits jumped on the bandwagon about the death of Kathryn Steinle while trying to help Trump stay in as a Presidential contender. Good luck with that.

For decades Mexico City has allowed organized crime to brutalize its own people and Americans, as well.
Some of the drug organizations have branched out into people smuggling, charging money to get desperate migrants across the border.
In the process many, perhaps most, migrant women are sexually molested, and that was the rape situation Donald Trump mentioned.
But it's not ordinary Mexicans doing the raping. It's the gangsters, and Trump should have made that clear.

. . . Fifty-nine percent of Mexican residents and illegal aliens have less than a high school education.
Only four percent have a college degree.
Sixty-eight percent are poor or near poor.
Fifty-seven percent receive means-tested welfare of some kind.
Fifty-six percent do not have health insurance. Many of those will receive Obamacare subsidies.
So, Trump's analysis is correct. The majority of Mexicans coming to the USA are not achievers in the economic sense.

. . . Last Wednesday Kate was walking with her father in San Francisco when she was shot dead on the street for absolutely no reason at all.
Police say 45-year-old Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, an illegal alien from Mexico, murdered Kate.
Apparently Sanchez has seven felony convictions and had been deported five times.
Yet he was still walking around the streets of San Francisco.
That's because Mayor Ed Lee and the eleven members of the San Francisco City Supervisors refuse to cooperate with the federal government on criminal aliens.

The Constitution demands that the federal government protect Americans from foreign intruders.
Obviously, that responsibility is not being met. And if you point that out as Trump did, you are a racist, a piñata for the open-border crowd to bash.

Holy Chinooks! Texans Fear #JadeHelm15 Takeover

In the scary world of right-wing Obama-hating "alternative news" anything can become a conspiracy theory. But when there's a hint of the federal military being involved, then the Bizarro World of Alex Jones goes into full gimble-lock and they spin away into outer space like Apollo 13.

A bunch of loonies in Texas fear that Evil Emperor Obama has finally decided to "invade Texas" and start locking people into concentration camps so he can have a third term. Of course, they've been predicting this since 2008 when Obama was elected President, because what else would a Muslin Bolshevik Facist Socialist BLACK Kenyan Dictator do but herd white people around like a bunch of Cliven Bundy's cows? Git along little dogies!

“Jade Helm is a challenging eight-week joint military and Interagency (IA) Unconventional Warfare (UW) exercise conducted throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado,” according to an unclassified military document announcing the training drill, which runs from July 15 through September 15.

Multiple branches of the US military, including Green Berets, Navy Seals, and the 82nd Airborne Division, will participate in the 8-week long exercise, which may result in “increased aircraft in the area at night.”

Troops will be tasked with honing advanced skills in “large areas of undeveloped land with low population densities,” and will work alongside “civilians to gain their trust and an understanding of the issues.”

The exercise, in which some participants will be “wearing civilian clothes and driving civilian vehicles,” lists Texas and Utah as “hostile” territory.


I have no problem with Utah and Texas being listed as "hostile." After all, the "Sovereign Citizens" in those states constantly threaten to secede or disobey the government. In fact, Jade Helm 15 could simply be an experiment to see just how much these nutjobs hate their country and want to shoot at our own military. What better way to teach Texas a lesson than to send in the troops for "exercises" with black helicopters just to drive them out of their minds and show them who is in control.

Now I sound like a conspiracy theorist, but seriously folks, the real pro is Greg Abbott, Governor and Top Clown of Texas. Now maybe he was just pandering to the Tea Party Libertarians, or maybe he is just crazy, but this looks really bad for Texas. Stop doing this stuff!

Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday directed the Texas State Guard to monitor Operation Jade Helm 15 to make sure that Texans’ “safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed.”
. . . it came amid concerns fueled by Texas talk radio host Alex Jones and his website, Infowars.com, that the military exercise might actually be a precursor to martial law.
“BREAKING! Texas Gov. To Send State Guard To Monitor #JadeHelm Exercise,” Jones tweeted on the governor’s announcement.
Concerns about Jade Helm 15 spilled over Monday night at packed special meeting of the Bastrop County Commissioners Court, where commissioners found themselves facing hostile questions for agreeing to let U.S. military forces train on private property in rural areas of the county this summer as part of the exercise.

After the Military calmly explained that is was just a military exercise, he rolled back the cray-cray:

"We are playing a pivotal role of government and that is to provide information for people who have questions,” Abbott said. “It is clear that people in Bastrop had questions, it’s clear from the questions I have received in my office that people have questions about it, and as governor and as government, I think we have an obligation to answer questions of citizens. And, by us working with the Special Operations Forces, we are able to provide information to citizens who were concerned about it.”

Rick Perry also put in his 2 cents worth, sounding less crazy than Abbott at least: "Trust the Military."
I think if you're one of these guys it’s okay to question your government — I do it on a pretty regular basis. The military's something else. "You know, I think our military is quite trustworthy. Civilian leadership – you can always question that, but not the men and women in uniform.




Then of course there is Louie Gohmert, another Texas Rodeo Clown. He just doesn't like that whole "hostile" label on Texas. Even if they sound hostile every day. And stupid. And hostile.

Once I observed the map depicting ‘hostile,' ‘permissive,' and ‘uncertain' states and locations, I was rather appalled that the hostile areas amazingly have a Republican majority, ‘cling to their guns and religion,' and believe in the sanctity of the United States Constitution. When the federal government begins, even in practice, games or exercises, to consider any U.S. city or state in 'hostile' control and trying to retake it, the message becomes extremely calloused and suspicious.


The Jade Helm operation could really "heat-up" the Southwest this summer as Alex Jones has meltdowns and Rick Perry probably goes back to the border and Greg Abbott hides in the Gov's mansion shaking in his boots and Gohmert remains Gohmert. So make some popcorn while you wait for the black helicopters:

Rick Perry, who desperately wants to be President of the United States, has been indicted in Texas for abusing his power as Governor. Maybe he shouldn't plan anymore trips to Iowa to campaign until he gets this cleared up. Just Sayin'.

Getting rid of something called the "Integrity Unit" probably wasn't a great idea. But please, proceed, Governor. Texas Democrats are popping corn. No, make that ALL Democrats.

A grand jury in Travis County indicted Perry last Friday on two felony counts stemming from his threat to veto funding for a statewide public integrity unit run by Travis Country District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg, a Democrat, unless she stepped down, according to the special prosecutor in the case, Michael McCrum.
The case centers on Perry's June 2013 veto of the $7.5 million budget for the unit run by Lehmberg, after she refused his demand to resign following her drunken driving arrest and conviction.
Perry faces accusations of coercion of a public servant and abuse of his official capacity in connection with the threat and veto.

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Governor Rick Perry arrived at the Blackwell-Thurman Criminal Justice Center in Austin right at 5 p.m. Tuesday to be booked on felony charges stemming from an indictment issued Friday.
Perry arrived to supporters chanting “Perry, Perry Perry!” before stopping to briefly speak with the media before walking inside.
“I’m here today because I believe in the rule of law,” the Texas Governor said. He continued to speak saying the actions he took were “lawful and legal.”
“If I had to do so, I would veto funding for the public integrity unit again,” he said.

Oops! Rick Perry Looks Like Grumpy Cat

When Governor Rick Perry of Texas found out that President Obama was going to visit his state, he vowed he would never meet him at the airport or shake his hand. He wasn't going to do that because when Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey shook hands with Obama after Hurricane Sandy, it knocked Christie off the list for future GOP Presidential candidates, at least as far as the Tea Party was concerned. They call Christie a RINO (Republican in Name Only) to this day.

So Rick Perry wasn't going to do that. No Way! Nuh-uh.

Except, then he did. They met, shook hands, smiled. Oops.

So to make up for being an adult Governor and meeting the President of the United States with a handshake, Perry decided to put on a serious face for their meeting. Verrrry SERIOUS. Maybe he was trying to hard because he made a face that reminds everyone of the "Grumpy Cat" meme. This ridiculous photo will haunt him for the rest of his career.

Also, Perry couldn't bully the President into visiting the Border with him, so he went out on a boat in the Rio Grande with Sean Hannity from Fox News. They are wearing bullet-proof vests and holding big machine guns as if they are going to hunt down all these five-year-olds and their mothers and shoot them. Another mistake on his part, if Perry really wants to be President of the whole country and not just the anti-immigrant Fox-loving Gun Nuts. But then, they are the only ones who would EVER vote for Rick Perry. That man will never be President.

Who wants Grumpy Cat for President? Oops.

Rick Perry in his hipster-retro glasses reminds me of 1950s TV icon Rod Serling, and on the Sunday talk show "This Week" he jumped right in to the Twilight Zone by blaming the current border crisis on President Obama. Never mind that George W. Bush signed a law saying all people coming from non-contiguous Latin American countries have to be "processed" by immigration at the border. No, according to Governor Perry, Obama somehow rigged the system so all these small children would show up and we would have to take them in. Cue Twilight Zone music...

Martha RADDATZ: -- but Governor, this -- this is about a law. This isn't necessarily about Border Patrol. This is about a law. You heard in Jim Avila's piece, they have to let these people into the country when they're from non-contiguous nations, when they're from Central America or South America.

Should that law be changed?

PERRY: The rule of law is that "The Constitution" requires the United States to secure the border. And we're not doing that. We haven't done it for years. And we are paying a huge price.

 When you have catch and release policies that send...

 RADDATZ: But -- but, Governor, please...

 PERRY: -- a message to people...

 RADDATZ: -- go back to the law...

 PERRY: -- in Central America...

 RADDATZ: -- the 2008 law that was signed into law by George Bush.

Isn't this is a backlog in the courts?

Doesn't that have to be addressed first?

Gov. Rick PERRY: What has to be addressed is the security of the border. You know that. I know that. The president of the United States knows that. I don't believe he particularly cares whether or not the border of the United States is -- is secure.

And that's the reason there's been this lack of effort, this lack of focus, this lack of resources...

MARTHA RADDATZ: He's telling people not to come.

PERRY: -- and...

RADDATZ: He's telling them in ads not to come into the United States, not to leave their homes.

PERRY: About -- about five years too late would be my response to that. The president has sent powerful messages time after time...

RADDATZ: You know, Governor...

PERRY: -- by his policies, by nuances, that it is OK to come to the United States and you can come across and you'll be accepted in open arms. That is the real issue.

RADDATZ: But, Governor, you've made -- I -- I want to go back to an interview you did on Fox News. You re--- you recently made some pretty serious allegations against the federal government.

Let's -- let's listen to what you said to Fox News.

PERRY: The federal government is just absolutely failing. We either have an incredibly inept administration, or they're in on this somehow or another. I mean I hate to be conspiratorial, but I mean how do you move that many people from Central America across Mexico and then into the United States without there being a fairly coordinated effort?

RADDATZ: Governor, do you really believe there's some sort of conspiracy to get people into the United States by the federal government, by the Obama administration?

PERRY: When I have -- when I have written a letter that is dated May of 2012, and I have yet to have a response from this administration, I will tell you they either are inept or don't care, and that is my position.

We have been bringing to the attention of President Obama and his administration since 2010, he received a letter from me on the tarmac. He sends -- I have to believe that when you do not respond in any way, that you are either inept, or you have some ulterior motive of which you are functioning from.

So the issue is, this president understands now that we have a huge problem on our southern border. We have to deal with it. And I don't think you're going to be able to address it until you put the resources there, and that's boots on the ground. We're asking for the FAA to allow for drones to be used.

Unless we secure our southern border, this is going to continue to be a massive amount of individuals that are coming to the United States. And, frankly, we don't have a place to house them as it is. And if we have a major event, a hurricane that comes in to the Gulf Coast, I don't have a place to be housing people who are displaced.

RADDATZ: OK, governor, I'm going to have to stop you there.

PERRY: This administration is housing them.

RADDATZ: I'm going to have to stop you there. But thank you very much for joining us.

PERRY: Martha, thank you. Yes, ma'am.
