Conservatives Pee on Obama for Jesus at the "Road to Majority" Conference 2014

Welcome to the Tea Party's "Road to Majority" conference which began today in Washington D.C. It's a surreal place that has little to do with reality, as so-called Patriots and Christians mingle together to espouse beliefs that are far to the right of most Americans. Clearly the main push for this Conference was the Agenda of Traditional Marriage and Anti-Abortion, but as always the GOP and Tea Party cannot help themselves and go in for bashing Democrats, especially Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. And they are just bloody childish.

So while Ralph Reed and the Faith and Freedom Coalition tried to push the family-friendly agenda at hashtag #RTM2014, one picture taken by journalist stole the show: a rather ugly Obama figurine stuffed into a urinal so that men could, well . . . Pee on the President. And since the internet is forever, that is now the symbol of the Faith and Family Road to Majority conference, a picture at once anti-Christian and Racist, a display showing the usual disrespect for both the person and the office of the President. As I say, they cannot help themselves.

The Road to Majority conference, organized by the Faith and Freedom Coalition, has a jampacked lineup of speakers, including a host of Republican politicians such as new House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, former senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and businessman Herman Cain.
The goal of the three-day conference, which wraps up Saturday, is to educate and inspire grass-roots leaders and activists to promote conservative pro-family values.

As part of the conference, FFC supporters on Thursday will lobby members of Congress on certain issues, including support for "traditional" marriage. Even though the Republican National Committee has urged Republicans to show more sensitivity for gay rights issues as the tide of public opinion turns, Reed said the conservative base is ready to stand firm on the issue of marriage. On the same day, several conservative groups are hosting a "March for Marriage" issue in Washington, featuring speakers like former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Sen. Rick Santorum.

. . . Romney’s half-hour with Gregory was like sitting in still-warm reused bathwater, with a film of half-truths and a couple of outright lies in the tub too. Ann Romney was present for the first half, mostly looking on worshipfully.
. . . Yet her Lady Romney persona emerged anyway, when she called it “ridiculous” that people say she and her husband don’t have empathy for those who struggle. Again, it helps to show empathy, not merely tell voters you have it, and dismissing your critics as “ridiculous” didn’t soften her edge. She also complained that her husband has been “demonized” by his opponents, but didn’t comment on a GOP campaign that’s depicted the president as a Muslim socialist with Kenyan anti-colonial values who “doesn’t understand America,” or even her own husband’s brazenly false claim that Obama got rid of the work requirement for welfare to “shore up his base.” Sorry, Ann, the world’s tiniest violin is playing a sad song for you somewhere, but not at my house.

I watched the Meet the Press Interview and once again Romney was vague on specifics and kept reciting studies which away to avoid answering questions.
Just another Smoke 'n Pony Show.
He does support Paul Ryan's plan to kill Medicare.

Gregory pursued his agenda by cutting off Romney when the ex-Massachusetts Governor didn’t agree to with Gregory’s premise: “But are you going to, will you cut a deal to compromise even if it risks a conservative revolt?”
If Gregory lands a sit-down with President Obama before the election, will he push him to agree to budget cuts which will lead liberals to revolt?

I was under the impression from Mormons that I know tend to discount Social Security in favor of supporting their fellow Mormons in bad times. This is all fine and good, but we're not all Mormons.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) is an *end times* religion. They believe that we are in the latter days of our earth and that the end is nigh. Why would someone who believes that ever worry about the environment? Or freedom to diverse faiths? Or freedom to do anything that isn't aligned with what they deem is righteous and ready for judgement day?
Why would any American want a President who is banking on a near future divine destruction of our planet?

I think it’s rather peculiar. It’s not in keeping with our founding documents, our founding vision. I’d guess you’d have to ask the Obama administration why they purged all this language from their platform. There sure is a lot of mention of government. I guess I would just put the onus and the burden on them to explain why they did all this, these purges of God.

Personally, I am willing to bet that most people who are not always parading their so called faith 24/7 are less hypocritical and kinder than these CINOs - Christians in Name Only.

God was IN every speech too... every time someone spoke about feeding the hungry, helping the needy, housing the homeless GOD was in the speech... every time loving thy neighbor and caring for families was spoken about GOD was in the speech... every single person who spoke about WE instead of ME was speaking of God's teachings
Jesus clearly said keep God and Gov separate... render unto God that which is his domain... and PAY YOUR TAXES so the poor can eat and the homeless can have shelter and the less fortunate can find comfort
